Significance of the On-The-Job training
OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but
also to show
students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the actual work
related to the
course that they are taking. It also allows those with no experience to work and to learn
at the same
time. OJT helps the Trainee to learn more about his chosen field and practice what has
learned from
school. It helps in the building of the trainee’s competence. Of course, when a student
is competent
enough, he will be able to do things successfully and, this training develops one’s
professionalism in
dealing with people. After the training, the trainee will be able to handle situations
properly and he’ll be
able to work well with everyone and he’ll have a good team work. OJT also enhances
the critical
thinking abilities and discipline of a student conducting his training in a company, his
ability to make
future jobs. What the students learned in their On-The-Job Training, even the little
things, can be
applied when they are already working. Students will be trained, not academically but
socially as well.
The way they work and communicate with others will not be a problem for the many
more.
It also gives the trainee the chance to immerse himself in his chosen field and
experience and learn
the skills necessary to the organization they are interested in. working experienced staff,

On-The-Job Training requires effort and seriousness. A trainee should take the
OJT seriously as it
can be a powerful tool for a person in preparing for the next chapter of life as a
professional. It can
possibly be a source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being students
to career
professionals someday.
Objective and goals of On-The-Job Training
As one of the five pillars of the Criminal Justice System, the BJMP was created to
address growing concern of jail management and penology problem. Primarily, its
clients are detainees accused before a court who are temporarily confined in such jails
while undergoing investigation, while waiting for final judgment and those who are
serving sentence promulgated by the court 3years and below. As provided for under
R.A. No. 6975, the Jail Bureau is mandated to take operational and administrative
control over all city, district and municipal jails.
The Bureau has four major areas of rehabilitation program, namely Livelihood Projects,
Educational and Vocational Training, Recreation and Sports, and Religious/ Spiritual
Activities. These were continuously implemented to eliminate the offenders’ patterns of
criminal behaviour and to reform them to become law-abiding and productive citizens.
Although the workplace of the Jail Bureau is confined inside the portals of jail to
safeguard inmates . nonetheless, the Bureau has an inherent function of informing the
public of jail operations and other matters concerning the corrections pillar of the
Philippines. Coincidentally, being anew growing Bureau, BJMP aims to keep the public
abreast of information regarding jail management and penology.

Narrative Report
lastly, the final and last station that I have been assign
in is San Ildefonso Police station. this station has a strict
management because they are always putting eyes on us. I have
learn to this station many lot of things in the field of police
proffession like being a patroler on vehicles and sometimes on my
own foot likes the foot patrol, we are guide by the ftp on this part
along the road of poblacion San Ildefonso . sometimes we were
making an operation called oplan sita to the riders along the roads
of San Ildefonso. I am proud as CRIMINOLOGY student , to be a
part of this On the Job Training in the Different Station I 've
encounter. God bless & thank you .
I can still clearly remember how I felt during my first day of duty at Plaridel Police
Station. Back then, I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness because that was my
first OJT deployment; I did not know what to expect and I had no idea what to do. The
first thing my seniors taught me was that, it is necessary to check BLOWBAG (Break,
Light, Oil, Water, Battery, Air and Gas) before using the police mobile or any vehicle.
Another important thing I have learned was how to get a person's fingerprint in actual.
For my second deployment, I was assigned at BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and
Penology) Baliwag where I learned the right procedure of conducting inspections for
visitors who bring food for inmates (search and seizure). Also, I became aware of the
things that are prohibited to bring inside like cellular phones, cigarettes, and sharp
objects. In addition to this, officers follow a strict dress code for visitors; they are not
allowed to wear revealing outfits like shorts and skirts, and yellow clothes.
I was assigned at San Rafael Police Station wherein I have learned how to handle
traffic. I was taught about the traffic rules and the different hand signals. These things
became useful to me not only during my OJT but in my everyday life as well.
My last OJT internship was in San Ildefonso Police Station. I learned a lot Police work
Like Patrolling, how to conduct a checkpoint, I also learned how to make a police blotter
I also gain on how to be responsible to anyone.
I think, my recommendation for the next intern is to follow the rules and instruction
To avoid fault or problems and issues, To help the trainee to do their task very well
With the help of each other and our senior officers for mentoring us.
Also one of my problem during ON THE JOB TRAINING is lack of self esteem. I am
being trained i also not expect to know everything in one day. Experience is gained
through time. The longer i do something the more i learn. The faster i gain knowledge &
become a productive trainee. I also encountered when im trainee is our house is far
from our station.
My second OJT was at the Malolos Police Station. During this, I got assigned into
handling traffic, checkpoints, and patrolling the barangays of Malolos. It was
upsetting that I was not able to finish my OJT due to the reason that I got
confined because of Dengue fever, couple with urinary tract infection. And so I
was not able to finish my OJT there.
When i task at San Rafael Police Station. I have learn how to handle traffic
rules, traffic signs. These things become useful to me not only during my ojt and in
my everyday life.I have learn how to the proper body posture and assist an traffic
accident
My last designation of internship at San Ildefonso Police Station .During this,I got
assigned into handling traffic ,checkpoints and patrolling the barangay of San
Ildefonso.I am proud as a Criminology student to be a part of different
station.THANKYOU AND GOD BLESS
I should have during on the job training self esteem,as we take the ojt on different
station we encountered some issue like of some lates comers ,not wearing the right and
proper uniform and absentism of some members of the group i belongs to.The longer i
do something the more i learn the faster i gain knowledge and become a productive
trainee
I recommend for the next future criminology interns i also suggest to have a
(GMRC)Good Manners and Right Conduct.Because you need to have it when you will
become a Police Officers. They should be Eminent, frisky, honest and well mannered with
all the person and to courage in all works and lastly give the best to follow your task that
give
On my first shift of OJT was in Plaridel Police Station. I am very nervous at first because
I don’t have any idea on a police work. First I learned how to inspect a police car, it is
necessary to check (BLOW BAG) Break, Light, Oil, Water, Battery, Air and Gas so it
won`t cause any inconvenience while doing patrol works. The next thing I learned is
how to manage the flow of traffic thanks to PO3 Oscar Kim Quizon for teaching us the
proper hand signal to control the flow of traffic.
On my next deployment was on BJMP, I learned how to conduct the proper search to
the visitors of the inmate and to those things they bring inside the jail. We also conduct
cell inspection to obtain and retrieve contabands that has been brought inside the jail.
And lastly I learned how to encode the inmates information also known as Carpeta.
On the third deployment was on San Rafael Police Station, I learned that the primary
problem that causing a traffic jam is the headedness of our motorist and I tend to
appreciate the effort of our traffic enforcers and the police officers who are always there
to organize the flow of traffic.
On my last OJT deployment was on San Ildifonso Police Station. The best part of my
OJT phase at San Ildifonso Police Station, I`ve experienced lot of police work how they
rendered and performed duties effectively like conducting operation in San Ildifonso
Bulacan the check point is the province ordinance made by the government and
province of Bulacan the “NO HELMET NO RIDE” policy.

Problems Encountered During OJT
The First Problem that I encountered during OJT days is when we fail to follow the
instructions and failed the task given to us. I was a bit shy for our mistakes and got
nervous because of our fault. I also got conflict with the schedule of our duty for being a
irregular student so I had a hard time on adjusting my schedule for the sake of our OJT
and lastly I had a problem dealing with my fellow interns because they are always
absent when we are on duty.
ROBERT G. CASTRO
Recommendation for the next interns
First I will recommend is to always greet to the officers wherever they meet them, to
always wear proper uniform, always be in time, always be obedient and always follow
every instructions ordered by the officers and lastly don’t be tardy so you won’t be scold.
