FOR THEIR PLEASURE

A daily guide on how to remember

your Priya Priyatam

This booklet is lovingly and respectfully

dedicated to my Guardian Angel who has given this
special causeless mercy to me, His Divine Grace
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. For
without his extreme rare mercy, such a book like this
could not have been even remotely conceived of, let
alone practiced. Thank you Srila Prabhupada for
letting me have faith in you and for your faith in me
and putting in a good word on my behalf to the
Lords of my heart, my Priya Priyatam!! You are truly
my ever well-wisher!

2
HOW TO GROW
YOUR BHAKTI-LATA

It was Srila Prabhupada’s Centenial year

(1896-1996) and many of the God-family had arrived.
Many of those I did service with back in the days of
the Hare Krsna Movement (with Srila Prabhupada)
were there, and the atmosphere was filled with
loving nostalgia. A reunion to celebrate our beloved
Gurudeva’s 100 year appearance anniversary.

I came into the company of a resident

Godbrother who had the facilities of a big temple
that could accommodate big art projects. At this time
paintings and sculpture work were being done for
the upcoming opening of the Delhi temple. My G-bro
gave me the service of managing over the temple as
the artisans were doing their seva .One day as I was
in Mathura doing some temple shopping, Krsna
changed my life. I returned to the temple to find I
was kicked out. Never did find out why exactly. Now,
with no home, no money, no welcome in my
Gurudeva’s Krsna Balaram Temple, 12000 miles
away from where I called home and with my Dallas
G-bro already gone back to America I found my self
in what looked like a major problem! Krsna was
setting me up for a change in consciousness!

3
Being on Purpose

When I think that I’m veering from the strict

no-nonsense, single pointed endeavor to be
exclusively fixed upon the highest spiritual goal,
namely becoming a manjari of Smt. Vrnda-devi, I
become very concerned and I begin to pray: “O my
dearest Srila Prabhupada, who has taken me by the
hand to the lotus feet of Sri Nitai, who picked me up
from a cave in the Ozarks (mountains in the state of
Missouri in the U.S.) and gave me the training and
influence to become a pure devotee of Radhika
Madhava (Kisora Kisori). Then you showed me by
Your sweet, but seriously on-purpose example, the
sober understanding of the need to be a devotee.
Srila Prabhupada, You then left, giving us homework
assignments to further our devotion, with the
essential information in Your books. Somehow, Your
message and the message of Gauranga and the
whole Gaudiya Sampradaya, to develop love and
pure devotion to Priya Priyatam's highest most
blissful pastimes of Their love affairs in the Kunjas of
Sri Vraja Dhama has been put to the side. But this
home-work is for all of us. To understand that You
simply left the toilet room and are waiting for us in
the living room where the party is.” That our real
service to you, Srila Prabhupada is our eternal
service under Him in His and our eternal forms
engaging in our eternal Seva of assisting the Gopis
in making tasteful arrangements for Radhika
4
Madhava’s eternal pastimes. It’s not the pretentious
service of building big temples, having a nice
religious society. That’s there too, but it’s not the
end-all, nor the priority. These are our engagements
while we cultivate pure hearing, chanting and
remembering constantly, the names, forms, qualities
and pastimes of Vraja Lila. Pure meaning that these
processes of Bhakti done in consciousness to only
satisfy our Lover and Beloved, not for purification, or
knowledge, nor for any lesser, mundane motivation.
Serving Srila Prabhupada as our Sakhi Guru is our
eternal occupation. “You haven’t left, You’re just
merely waiting for us on the other side.” Our
business is to serve Priya Priyatam under You as
Manjaris with Bhavollasa Rati. It seems so clear that
this is what our duty is, to finish our business and to
get out. Our physical service is temporary and only
practice, for real loving devotional service, which is
eternal, full of bliss and knowledge. We serve the
mission but in a detached mood, knowing by hearing,
chanting, remembering, constantly: nama, rupa,
guna, lila from the scriptures of our Rasika Acarayas.
Their instructions, Mahaprabhu’s instructions, Sri
Krsna’s instructions (B.G.18-65-66)! Give up every
thing and become a pure Madhurya Manjari devotee
for pleasing Srila Prabhupada, Gaura Nitai, the
Guru/Manjari Sampradaya and the Lotus feet of Sri
Sri Priya Priyatam!

5
No more Window Shopping

These are the revelations that come when

there is no more window shopping. When there are
no excuses to avoid going full thrust all way to
Goloka-nikunja. When the decision is made and all
activities, thoughts and words are only for reaching
the goal, or to please Srila Prabhupada by following
the instruction to go Home, back to Godhead! This is
the secret magic given by the extreme mercy of
Priya Priyatam, Gaura Nitai and Srila Prabhupada!

Like most of us, we think that because of

the dirty hearts we admit to haveing, that becoming
purified completely is impossible. Thinking like this
sabotages our future. But we are forgetting, and/or
rather not applying the philosophy, that we accept
intellectually that we are eternal servants of Krsna!
To think of how fallen we are is a bodily conception
of life. ”I breath air, I pass stool, I’m white, I’m poor,
I’m tall, etc., I’m fallen; it’s a mute point. We all are
fallen. So? What one has to think is,” I’m an eternal
servant of Krsna!” Also, that we are not the doer. We
cannot purify that 10 mile high mountain of sin that’s
been gathering over the millions of lifetimes. You
think that doing some ’Nish 'Nish Ram Ram with a
future failure mentality, being inattentive, and a host
of other anarthas, that we will be able to do such a
Herculean task as to clean our filthy hearts?

6
Open Secret

Krsna is the Doer! And He is expert in

making the impossible possible! So let Him do it.
Our position is simply to please Him with the
instructions He has given us in Bhagavad-Gita; 2-59:
"The embodied soul may be restricted from sense
enjoyment, though the taste for sense objects
remains. But, ceasing such engagements by
experiencing a higher taste, he is fixed in
consciousness." 2-61: "One who restrains his
senses, keeping them under full control, and fixes
his consciousness upon Me, is known as a man of
steady intelligence." 4-24: "A person who is fully
absorbed in Krsna consciousness is sure to attain
the spiritual kingdom because of his full contribution
to spiritual activities, in which the consummation is
absolute and that which is offered is of the same
spiritual nature." 5-17: "When one's intelligence,
mind, faith and refuge are all fixed in the Supreme,
then one becomes fully cleansed of misgivings
through complete knowledge and thus proceeds
straight on the path of liberation." 5-21, "Such a
liberated person is not attracted to material sense
pleasure but is always in trance, enjoying the
pleasure within. In this way the self-realized person
enjoys unlimited happiness, for he concentrates on
the Supreme." 5-29: "A person in full consciousness
of Me, knowing Me to be the ultimate beneficiary of
all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all
7
planets and demigods, and the benefactor and well-
wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the
pangs of material miseries." 6-47: "And of all yogis,
the one with great faith who always abides in Me,
thinks of Me within himself, and renders
transcendental loving service to Me, he is the most
intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest
of all. That is My opinion." 7-1: "The Supreme
Personality of Godhead said, Now hear, O son of
Prtha, how by practicing yoga in full consciousness
of Me, with mind attached to Me, you can know Me
in full, free from doubt." 7-17: "Of these, the one who
is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in
pure devotional service is the best. For I am very
dear to him, and he is dear to Me." 7-18: "All these
devotees are undoubtedly magnanimous souls, but
he who is situated in knowledge of Me I consider to
be just like My own self. Being engaged in My
transcendental service, he is sure to attain Me, the
highest and most perfect goal." 8-5: "And whoever,
at the end of his life, quits his body remembering Me
alone at once attains My nature. Of this there is no
doubt." 8-7: "Therefore, Arjuna, you should always
think of Me in the form of Krsna and at the same
time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With
your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and
intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without
doubt." 8-8: "He who meditates on Me as the
Supreme Personality of Godhead, his mind
constantly engaged in remembering Me, undeviated
8
from the path, he, O Partha, is sure to reach Me."
8-10: "One who, at the time of death, fixes his life air
between the eyebrows and, by the strength of yoga,
with an undeviating mind, engages himself in
remembering the Supreme Lord in full devotion, will
certainly attain to the Supreme Personality of
Godhead." 8-13: "After being situated in this yoga
practice and vibrating the sacred syllable OM, the
supreme combination of letters, if one thinks of the
Supreme Personality of Godhead and quits his body,
he will certainly reach the spiritual planets." 8-14:
"For one who always remembers Me without
deviation, I am easy to obtain, O son of Prtha,
because of his constant engagement in devotional
service." 9-14: "For one who always remembers Me
without deviation, I am easy to obtain, O son of
Prtha, because of his constant engagement in
devotional service." 9-28: "In this way you will be
freed from bondage to work and its auspicious and
inauspicious results. With your mind fixed on Me in
this principle of renunciation, you will be liberated
and come to Me." 9-30: "Even if one commits the
most abominable action, if he is engaged in
devotional service he is to be considered saintly
because he is properly situated in his
determination." 10-9: "The thoughts of My pure
devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to
My service, and they derive great satisfaction and
bliss from always enlightening one another and
conversing about Me." 10-10: "Even if one commits
9
the most abominable action, if he is engaged in
devotional service he is to be considered saintly
because he is properly situated in his
determination." 12-7: "But those who worship Me,
giving up all their activities unto Me and being
devoted to Me without deviation, engaged in
devotional service and always meditating upon Me,
having fixed their minds upon Me, O son of Prtha -
for them I am the swift deliverer from the ocean of
birth and death." 12-8, "Just fix your mind upon Me,
the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and engage
all your intelligence in Me. Thus you will live in Me
always, without a doubt." 18-65: "Always think of Me,
become My devotee, worship Me and offer your
homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without
fail. I promise you this because you are My very
dear friend." Etc. This is corroborated throughout the
Sastra and is practiced by the Great Devotees of all
the Vaisnava Sampradayas. Especially our
Parampara where we meditate, pray, and chant for
this service of always remembering Krsna and never
forgetting Him!

The most important thing in reaching the

goal of Krsna prema is to make the conscious
decision to do so! That I now make that choice to
become a Pure devotee. With that, we now go for a
“Revolution in Consciousness.”

10
In the Nectar of Devotion it is said 65 times
to always remember Radha Krsna and never forget
Them. So, how do we remember? This is the
purpose of this booklet.

Now I would like to share with you what

Krsna has revealed to me when I made this life
changing decision.

CLEAN ROOM ATMOSPHERE

First thing, is to seek out good, high class

association. Finding someone who can tell you
about that Divine Couple. Living in Sri Vrndavan
Dhama, really helps a lot. I found the impetus to
become Krsna conscious easier than what I would
imagine in other places in the world. The ether in the
cities of the world are contaminated with an
overdose of sinful and impersonal activity, which
affects the mind and the meditation in Krsna
consciousness. The ether is the subtlest of the gross
elements and the mind is the grossest of the subtle
elements, so there is a close relationship with the
two. As with the Dhama, there is much less gross
sinful activity and the resident Sadhus and pilgrims
fill the ether with thoughts of devotion.

11
KRSNA-IZE EVERTHING

That’s why the great Acaryas and the

sweet Lord Himself say to live in the Dhama,
especially Sri Vrndavana Dhama and Sri Navadwip
Dhama. Everywhere in Vraja you will hear “Radhe
Radhe!, Radhe Syama!, Jaya Sri Radhe! Hare
Krsna! etc. So the ether here makes it conducive for
quality prayers and meditations on the Names,
Forms, Qualities and Pastimes of Vraja Kevala
Prema Bhakti, especially in the beginning. After you
are accustomed to remembering Radha
Syamasundara, then anywhere you might be
physically, you will always be in Vrndavana. Of this
there is no doubt! Srila Prabhupada says in the
purport to Bhag. Gita 18-65: “The most confidential
part of knowledge is that one should become a pure
devotee of Krsna and always think of Him and act
for Him. One should not become an official
meditator. Life should be so molded that one will
always have the chance to think of Krsna. One
should always act in such a way that all his daily
activities are in connection with Krsna He should
arrange his life in such a way that throughout the
twenty-four hours he cannot but think of Krsna And
the Lord's promise is that anyone who is in such
pure Krsna consciousness will certainly return to the
abode of Krsna where he will be engaged in the
association of Krsna face to face. This most
confidential part of knowledge is spoken to Arjuna
12
because he is the dear friend of Krsna. Everyone
who follows the path of Arjuna can become a dear
friend to Krsna and obtain the same perfection as
Arjuna.”

Finding Krsna conscious sanga, or association isn’t

as easy as it sounds. The first thing I did was to go
to the Temple and I asked twenty devotees a day for
twenty days, "Prabhu, can you tell me something
about Krsna?” To my complete disappointment, I
found no one could say anything about Krsna; at
Karttika; in Vrndavana! That’s 400 people. Amazing!!
I would receive answers like,” O, I’m a fool, what do
I know?” or, “I'm unqualified”, etc. etc. This clearly
showed me how bad the erosion of our movement
has gone.

READING – MOST IMPORTANT

Also in the Nectar of Devotion, I found it to be said

58 times: to associate with pure Devotees, or
advanced devotees. So where are they at? They are
in the books. Srila Prabhupada says in His books to
read the literatures of the previous Acaryas: ”It is
necessary, therefore, for the serious students of
Srimad-Bhagavatam to follow the notes and
comments of the great acaryas like Jiva Gosvami
and Visvanatha Cakravarti." (SB 3.4.28, pur.)

13
“Srila Rupa Gosvmi and his assistants, under the
instructions of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, have
all written various literatures for the guidance of
prospective devotees, and anyone who is very
serious about raising himself to the standard of a
pure devotee of the Lord must take advantage of
those literatures.” (SB 3.7.39 pur.)

“Sri Sanatana Gosvami Prabhu, the teacher of the

science of devotional service, wrote several books,
of which the Brhad-bhagavatamrta is very famous;
anyone who wants to know about the subject matter
of devotees, devotional service and Krsna must read
this book”. The purport goes on to mention: “Srila
Rupa Gosvami is described as the bhakti-rasacarya,
or one who knows the essence of devotional service.
His famous book Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu is the
science of devotional service, and by reading this
book one can understand the meaning of devotional
service. Another of his famous books is the Ujjvala-
nilamani. In this book he elaborately explains the
loving affairs and transcendental activities of Lord
Krsna and Radharani.” (C.C. Adi lila 5.203 pur.)

And in the Krsna Book, we find: “Those in the most

exalted position of devotional service and ecstasy
can live with Krsna always by remembering His
pastimes. Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has
given us a transcendental literary work entitled
Krsna-bhavanamrta, which is full with Krsna’s
14
pastimes. Exalted devotees can remain absorbed in
Krsna-thought by reading such books. Any book of
Krsna-lila, even this book, Krsna, or our Teachings
of Lord Caitanya, is actually solace for devotees
feeling separation from Krsna.” (KB Chapter 46)

“There are many books giving proper guidance for

achieving Lord Krsna and the following are
mentioned: Srila Jiva Gosvami's Sankalpa-
kalpavrksa, Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja's Sri Govinda-
lilamrta, Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti's Sri Krsna-
bhavanamrta and Sankalpa-kalpadruma, and Srila
Bhaktivinoda Thakura's Sri Gauranga-smarana-
mangala. (SB 11.15.26 pur.)

"Actually going to Vrndavana involves taking shelter

of the six Gosvamis by reading the Bhakti-rasamrta-
sindhu, Vidagdha-madhava, Lalita-madhava and the
other books that they have given. In this way one
can understand the transcendental loving affairs
between Radha and Krsna." (C.C.Adi lila 8.31,pur.)

The association with the Pure devotees in

person will manifest as the bhava develops in the
heart. And this will come as the prayers intensify for
the Prayojana, The Goal!

15
KEEP A DIARY

One thing that is very important is to keep

an inventory of your advancement in remembering
Kisora Kisori. How much of the day is tangible, true
awareness of remembering Radha Giridhari? Take a
diary and log your day of remembering. Start with
Mangala Arati. Mangala Arati is at the end of the
Divine Couple’s day, called Nisanta Lila, a part of
the Asta-kaliya-lila; These 8 divisions of the 24 hour
day are dissected into 24 minute segments, called
dandas. Consequently there are 60 dandas. This is
divided into two parts; daytime pastimes and
nighttime pastimes. By reading these transcendental
literatures, we will be able to apply these pastimes
into our mind and heart throughout the day.

You log in your diary your thoughts of

Radha Radhakanta during Mangala Arati; Ok, that’s
20 minutes. Then the Jaya Dvani and then the
Narasimha prayers, another 5 minutes. Next is
Tulasi Puja. The mantras that are chanted is a
beautiful prayer petitioningA Her to engage you in
the Nitya lilas as one of Her maidservants.”

(1) O Tulasi, beloved of Krsna, I bow down

before you again and again. My desire is to obtain
the service of Sri, Sri Radha and Krsna

16
(2) Whoever takes shelter of you has his
wishes fulfilled. Bestowing your mercy upon him,
you make him a resident of Vrndavana.

(3) My desire is that you will also grant me a

residence in the pleasure groves of SriVrndavana-
dhama. Thus, within my vision I will always behold
the beautiful pastimes of Radha and Krsna.

(4) I beg you to make me a follower of the

cowherd damsels of Vraja. Please give the privilege
of devotional service and make me your own
maidservant.

(5) This very fallen and lowly servant of Krsna

prays, “May I always swim in the love of Sri Sri
Radha and Govinda.”

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING

Another significant adage to your

developing bhajana, is to know what these Mantras
mean Here it is said "This servant". Even though we
are not at the level of pure devotional service yet,
we should think that one day we will be. Just like
one who is in school studying to be a doctor.
Although he may not be a certified doctor now, but
because he’s in school, he will become one, so you
can already call him a doctor. So in this way we can
think of ourselves as one. Like a diamond in the
17
rough. In the Nectar of Instruction, text three, which
gives a list of six things that are favorable for pure
devotional service: 1) to be enthusiastic; 2)
endeavoring with confidence; 3) being patient; 4)
acting according to regulative principles [such as
Sravanam, Kirtanam, Smaranam (SB 7.5.23) -
hearing, chanting or glorifying and remembering]; 5)
avoiding non-devotees (this can be applied to
anyone who is not Krsna conscious, not talking
about Krsna, but rather talking trash nonsense talk,
off purpose to the goal of life, who is not like-
minded); and 6) to follow in the footsteps of the
previous acaryas." What is that? Being conscious of
their consciousness of Radha Gopinatha! Who are
detached from sense objects, who are always
engaged in sravanam, kirtanam, smaranam in nama
rupa guna, lila.

The Purport to the sloka found in NOI txt3:

“One should accept this opportunity to return home,
back to Godhead, very enthusiastically. Without
enthusiasm, one cannot be successful. Even in the
material world one has to be very enthusiastic in his
particular field of activity in order to become
successful. A student, businessman, artist or
anyone else who wants success in his line must be
enthusiastic. Similarly, one has to be very
enthusiastic in devotional service.” Enthusiasm
means action, but action for whom? The answer is

18
that one should always act for Krsna -
krsnarthakhila-cesta." (Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu).

Endeavor executed with intelligence in

Krsna consciousness is called utsaha, or
enthusiasm. The devotees find the correct means by
which everything can be utilized in the service of the
Lord (nirbandhah krsna-sambandhe yuktam
vairagyam ucyate). The execution of devotional
service is not a matter of idle meditation but practical
action in the foreground of spiritual life.

TELL THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH,

NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

One important requirement to gaining the

Lord’s mercy is to reveal to Them all the dirty and
bad things that you have done in your life. An
example may be given of a father who, while looking
out the window, sees his son going off around the
corner with his friends to smoke a cigarette. The
father, being concerned about the well being of his
dear son, may feel a punishment is in order. But first
he wants to see what kind of integrity his son has.
When the boy enters the house, his father inquires,
“So my dear boy, how was your day today?” The
son replies, “O, just like everyday.” The father then
asks, “You do what you did today everyday?” Now
the son is getting that bad feeling in the stomach
that his father knows of his smoking. Because the
19
son is actually a good boy, he reveals to his beloved
father, “Father, today I smoked a cigarette.” The
father feels two things; the need to chastise his son
in hopes of correcting his worthy son from going bad
and becoming more degraded. At the same time he
feels proud of his son because of his integrity and
honesty to admit what he did.

THINK HE DOESN'T KNOW

So in this same way, we can say that Krsna

is in our heart and He knows what we’ve done, but
this does not support our need to develop our
relationship. Therefore, the suggestion is that you go
in front of the Deity or just simply in a private room
and reveal all the dirty laundry you have in the heart
out loud, speaking to Him as if you were in front of
your father. “O my Lord, do You remember when I
did this? Do You remember when I did that?” And
even with those things you can’t even admit or, want
to think even of yourself, and perhaps with tears of
embarrassment in your eyes, you reveal: “Do you
remember when I did that too?” Now revealed to the
merciful Lord of your life, what kind of a person you
really are and all the sinful and violent things you’ve
done in your past, you now feel naked in front of
Krsna without any excuses or any place to hide. For
all those things that you didn't want anyone to know
about have now been admitted by you verbally and
now you definitely know He knows! So the feeling of
20
true humility is there along with shame and
embarrassment. But our Krsna is very pleased with
this surrendering attitude and puts you on His list of
special devotees that will receive HIS SPECIAL
MERCY. As it says in the Bhagavad Gita 4-11: “As
you surrender unto Me I reward accordingly” With no
other place to go, one now has only his Japa bag to
take shelter of. Thus the impetus to clean up that
sloppy, low quality chanting is now a must.

With a mood to do it right, the

recommendation is to record your Japa. Change the
breathing; change and overhaul your mouth and
your old conditioning.

NOT ONLY JUST 16 ROUNDS

After Tulsi Puja, a nice set of 16 rounds or

more, of quality Japa. This means articulate
pronunciation of the holy names for the pleasure of
the Divine Couple. "Quality Japa" means when you
don’t want to stop. The Acaryas of our line
encourage us to chant 64 rounds, we should always
be hankering to do so. Srila Prabhupada wanted the
devotees to chant 64 rounds, but they simply would
not do it. As your service attitude increases, or your
desire to want to please the Divine Couple becomes
more and more important to you, you will find more
opportunity to increase. For example; to get up
earlier, like getting up at 2:30am and getting in 16
21
rounds before Mangala Arati. Then 16 during the
Japa period. That gives you 32 rounds before
daylight. Then throughout the day, just keep the
hand in the bead bag and casually chant when
you’re not doing any thing else. By the end of the
day, 64 rounds will be completed, or close to it!

RECORD YOUR JAPA

A nice idea to keep quality control with your

Japa is to record them. Change the breathing
pattern. Remember, you are doing this to please
Radha Govinda. You can imagine They are listening
to you, and you are offering Them to hear the
names of Their Beloved. When you say Hare, you
think of Krsna. When you say Krsna and Rama, you
think of Sri Radhika. According to Srila Bhaktivinoda
Thakura, Rama means Radha Ramana, One who
gives pleasure to Sri Radha.

Also in the Nectar Of Devotion it is stated

48 times to meditate on Krsna’s lotus feet This can
be done while you are chanting Hare Krsna. These
three instructions are the most important instructions
of the Guru and the Sastras: 1) remember Radha
Krsna; 2) associate with advanced devotees; and 3)
to meditate on Krsna’s lotus feet; and of course the
chanting of Hare Krsna Maha Mantra. Once you
have your Japa perfect, then you can advance to the

22
next level of incorporating the meditation of those
lotus feet.

REMEMBER THEIR LOTUS FEET

At first I tried to envision Krsna’s feet by

mentally looking at the Dieties lotus feet, but the
thoughts wouldn’t endure. The mind would easily
drift off and I’d find myself drifting away after only a
few seconds. So I had to pray for Krsna to reveal to
me how to meditate on Ballavisa’s lotus feet. What
was revealed to me was to turn those feet upside
down. On the bottom of Sri Krsna’s lotus feet are 19
signs: 11 on the right, and 8 on the left. On the right
foot, starting at the base of the big toe is a barley
corn; next along the base of the toes is a chakra
below the barleycorn; then the upward curving line;
then the lotus flower; then comes the elephant goad
at the base of the little toe. Below the goad is the
lightning rod; to the right of the rod as you look at
the right foot on the left position (since they are
upside down) comes the flag. Then hopping over the
upward curving line, on the instep of the foot is the
umbrella. Then down just above the heel is an 8
sided figure called Astakona; above, below, left and
right of this octagon are the Swastikas. Diagonally
placed between the Swastikas are four rose apples
or sometimes called blackberries. Now going up to
the top of the left foot at the ball of the foot is a
conch shell; under the middle two toes is a Sky
23
emblem; below that is an unstrung bow; below that
is a cow’s hoof print; below that is a triangle;
encircling the triangle are 4 waterpots; below that is
a crescent moon known to be a half moon; and on
the heel of Krsna’s left foot is a fish.

24
While chanting your Japa, you begin with
the barleycorn and in the order given above chant
one Maha Mantra per sign. There are the 4
swastikas, 4 rose apples and 4 water pots. Adding
up all the impressions there are 27 in total. Twenty-
seven times 4 comes to be 108. So in this way as
you chant each Mantra, you visualize these signs. At
the end of just one round, what to speak of all 16,
these signs will become branded on the brain, so
that every time you simply touch your beads the
lotus feet of Sri Murlidara will come to your
consciousness. Always remembering this is to be
done to please your Istha deva Everything is for
Radha Gopijanavallabha’s pleasure! Now probably,
for the first time, you will be controlling the mind, as
the mind will be having a job to go from one sign to
another. And because you have been practicing to
chant the Names in a mood of devotion, you will be
attentive and will feel a sense of completion of a
monumental task, like swimming across a lake.

Now you will soon be finished with offensive

chanting and will move into the Nama abhasa
category, thus you will experience a significant
changing of your consciousness. This is so much
very important. For now the stages of sraddha will
become very strong because of the association
(which is Sadhu Sanga) of the Rasika Acaryas via
their books.
25
IT’S LILA THAT COUNTS

Whats in the books is the meditation on

nama, rupa, guna, and lila. It’s the lila that puts you
into the Spiritual Goloka conciousness, for the lilas
include nama, rupa, and guna. As we chant the in
the Guruvastakam every morning: ”Sri Radhika
Madhavayora para, Madhurya lila guna rupa
namnam…”, The Spiritual Master is always taking
great pleasure in hearing and relishing the wonderful
pastimes of Sri Sri Radhika Madhava and Their
qualities names and forms. So the Guru is our
acarya, teacher by example. So we too must enter
into this bhava, or mood, because it’s our Radha
Syamakisora’s most pleasing pastimes. As Srila
Prabhupada says in the last pages of KB chapter 33
on the Rasa Dance:...”

HAVE TO HEAR RIGHT

"Sukadeva Gosvami concludes this

episode of the rasa-lila by pointing out that if a
person hears from the right source about the
pastimes of Krsna, who is Visnu Himself, and the
gopis, who are expansions of His energy, then he
will be relieved of the most dangerous type of
disease, namely lust. In other words, one who
actually hears the rasa-lila will become completely
freed from the lusty desire of sex life and elevated to
the highest level of spiritual understanding.
26
Generally, because they hear the rasa-lila from
Mayavadis and they themselves are Mayavadis,
people become more and more implicated in sex life.
The conditioned soul should hear the rasa-lila dance
from an authorized spiritual master and be trained
by him so that he can understand the whole
situation; thus one can be elevated to the highest
standard of spiritual life; otherwise, one will be
implicated. Material lust is a kind of heart disease,
and to cure the material heart disease of the
conditioned soul, it is recommended that one should
hear, but not from the impersonalist rascals. If one
hears from the right sources with right
understanding, then his situation will be different."

"Sukadeva Gosvami has used the word

sraddhanvita, for one who is trained in spiritual life.
Sraddha, or faith, is the beginning. One who has
developed his faith in Krsna as the Supreme
Personality of Godhead, the Supreme Spirit Soul,
can both describe and hear the rasa-lila. Sukadeva
also uses the word anusrnuyat. One must hear from
the disciplic succession. Anu means “following,” and
anu also means “always.” So one must always
follow the disciplic succession and not hear from any
stray professional reciter, whether a Mayavadi or an
ordinary man. Anusrnuyat means that one must
hear from an authorized person who is in the
disciplic succession and is always engaged in Krsna
consciousness. When a person hears the rasa-lila in
27
this way, the effect will be sure: he will be elevated
to the highest position of spiritual life."

(Srila Prabhupada says 3 times: ”Highest spiritual

perfection")

"Sukadeva Gosvami uses two specific

words, bhaktim and param. Bhaktim param means
execution of devotional service above the neophyte
stage. Those who are simply attracted to temple
worship but do not know the philosophy of bhakti are
in the neophyte stage. That sort of bhakti is not the
perfectional stage. The perfectional stage of bhakti,
or devotional service, is completely free from
material contamination. The most dangerous aspect
of contamination is lust, or sex life. Bhaktim param
devotional service is so potent that the more one
advances in this line, the more he loses his all
attraction for material life. One who is actually
deriving benefit from hearing the rasa-lila dance
surely achieves the transcendental position. He
surely loses all traces of lust in his heart.”
(KB Description of Rasa Lila Ch.33)

There is no reason to be afraid to advance to pure

devotional service as long as we stay under the
shelter of our Guru Parampara, we can feel as
secure as a kitten in the mouth of the mother cat!
Remember, it is For Their Pleasure!

28
OBSERVE MICROSCOPICALLY AND
REMEMBER

Now, as you are keeping an inventory of

your remembrance, you can see clearly, practically,
that on this day how much you are remembering.
Mangala Arati: 30 minutes; Tulsi Puja: 5 minutes;
Japa: 2 hours; and now the Darsan of the Dieties,
known as Srngara Arati. This time of the day,
Mother Yasoda has dressed her Kaniyalal, and we
are the gopalas coming to see our best Friend
looking so good! Most of the time most devotees
come for the darsan and may glorify, ”Radha
Rasabihari Ki jaya! You look beautiful! But then
when they are asked: ”What are the colors of Their
clothes?” “Uh, I don’t know." "How many garlands
are there?" “Uh, I don’t know.” "How many Tulasi
leaves are on Krsna’s lotus feet?" “Uh, I don’t know.”
"What is in Sri Radhika’s hands? How many rings on
Her toes and fingers?" Etc. etc. etc. “Uh, I don’t
know.” So what did you see to say They are so
beautiful? Another example of our unconsciousness.

In this regard, if you can find someone you

can share the darsana with, then quiz each other:
“How many butterflies are on the Alter?” "Five?" “No,
there are six!” In this way you look. Look at the
details and then throughout the day you can shut
your eyes and you can see those Divine Dancers.
You write down how much time was spent looking at
29
the Alter and how much time you thought of Them
on the Alter today. Another beautiful way to
remember Them For Their Pleasure!

So now you are up to let us say almost 3

hours of pure Krsna consciousness! Needless to say,
you are experiencing great transcendental bliss from
your devotional efforts and Radha Prema Kisora will
reciprocate because you are pleasing Them with
Bhakti! What you will experience is a happiness
from within, and the material world with its
allurements are now beginning to go away.

Now the Sraddha is strong. You have

stopped the association of those who are not of the
same mood and your concentration in reading the
Sastras, Their nama, rupa, guna, lila is now strong,
so consequently your Bhajana, or your worship and
prayers are becoming more frequent and sincere.
This is called Bhajana Kriya. With your hearing,
glorifying and remembering in the mood to please
The Divine Couple They are now doing that
impossible job of purifying your heart. This is called
Anartha Nivritti, the impurities are now leaving the
heart. At this juncture the chance of fall down
practically becomes nil. What can you fall down to
when there are no things to contemplate? With a
clean heart free of material desires, you can now
petition Their Lordships to enter and dance in your
heart. And your prayers are now to enter into Their
30
eternal pastimes as Sri Radhika’s Maidservant
serving Their transcendental love affairs without any
fear of becoming a Sahajiya, because your heart is
clean and free of lusty desires. "Nikunja yuno rati
keli siddhyai ya yalibhir yuktir apeksaniya!"

REACHING THE NISTHA STAGE

Except for offences to the advanced

Vaisnavas, there is a safe and sure road ahead
which now brings us to the Nistha Platform. Steady,
on purpose to attain the goal, the Prayojana. With
the heart and consciousness clean you will feel you
are pleasing Sri Sri Kunjesvari Kunjesvara, there is
now the feeling of a relationship developing. This
feeling is very exciting because They instill great
hope and confidence in reaching Their lotus feet.

We now offer Guru Puja to Srila

Prabhupada. Again as before, you should recite the
Guruvastakam and the Sri Guru Caranaravindam
prayers in English or whatever language you are
proficient in. This will give depth to your worship of
Guru and will increase your appreciation of the great
gift They are giving.

GOPA KUMARA

One thing to know definitely is that to be here in

devotional service is clearly a symptom that you
31
have been chosen. You are special and that you
have the obligation to complete this course, for They
are expecting you! As I now refer you to the
fabulous story of Gopa Kumar in the Bhrhad
Bhagavatamrta. In this story, Gopa Kumara
becomes liberated and is in the spiritual world. He is
waiting for Krsna to return home from the pasturing
grounds along with the Vraja vasis. When Krsna
saw Gopa Kumar, Krsna yelled out: “Gopa Kumar!
It’s Gopa Kumara! Gopa Kumar has come home!”
Then Gopa Kumar and Krsna come running toward
each Other. As They ecstatically embrace, They fall
unconscious to the ground laying in a pool of Their
own tears. Gopa Kumara gets up first. Then the
Vrajavasis come to the scene and in their
bewilderment of seeing Krsna on the ground, they
frantically ask: ”What happened to Krsna? Did you
do something to Krsna?!” Then Balaram appears
there and examines the scene. He says: “You are
Gopa Kumar aren’t you? Hey everybody, It’s Gopa
Kumar. Gopa Kumar has come Home, this is why
Krsna is like that!”

So we are all Gopa Kumars! And They are

just waiting for us to come Home. This is why we
need to get serious about the Prayojana. Its not that
we are independently choosing this path of
Devotional service, but we have been chosen to
come Home. Srila Prabhupada has come to invite
us Home and it would be ungrateful on our part not
32
to excitedly accept this super rare opportunity to
receive such an invitation and to procrastinate, or
delay for any reason. It’s like when Krsna plays the
flute and the gopis leave everything to meet their
Beloved. Maybe now we don’t hear the flute yet, but
we should be so demanding to want to hear that
Transcendental fifth note!

RADHA KRSNA GUNA GAO

Now in our day, we come to the time for the

honoring of the Lord’s Prasadam. You recite the
'Sarira avidya jal' prayer. Wherein it says, 'Radha
Krsna guna gao' “and in so doing glorify Their
Lordships Sri Sri Radha Radha-ramana” So here is
another great opportunity to remember Radha
Rasikendra. It says that Krsna accepts food stuffs
offered to Them with Love and Devotion. Is the cook
cooking with love and devotion? Maybe not. Is the
Pujari offering the Bhoga with love and devotion?
Maybe not. So how do you know you are eating
Prasadam? Srila Prabhupada explains that the
difference between material and spiritual is
consciousness. So if you are eating the Rasagullas
and rejecting the burnt chapattis, then you are only
eating the stool which it will become tomorrow
morning. Why? Because the eating is in the
personal enjoying spirit. Ideally, the gradual
progress will be to merge the plate. Salt with the
sweets, fruits with the subji. And before each bite,
33
you say a new name of the Lords of our heart: "Jaya
Radha Madhava!" Then you take your bite. As you
chew that bite, you meditate on the form of the
Lords from the bottom at their lotus feet, up Their
beautiful Forms to the peacock feather on His head
and the peahen feathers in Her hair. Then when you
have swallowed that bite, the next one; "Jaya Radha
Madana Mohana!" In this way you are offering each
bite and remembering For Their Pleasure! Thus
remaining in Devotional Service which will attract
Them to notice you, so you can hear that flute!

Ok, now you have been remembering

Them all the way from before Mangala Arati when
you woke up, to the end of the morning meal, ideally
from 2:30am up to 9:30am. Seven blissful hours of
pure Krsna Consciousness! Can you imagine what
your consciousness must be like by this constant
remembering of Them? Can you imagine how the
Divine Lordships must be pleased with you in
making such an effort of love and devotion? And this
is all according to Sastra, Guru and (you) Sadhu!
There is no violation in the Sadhana or any kind of
deviation. Now you can honestly say that you are
following the most important instruction: To always
remember Krsna and never forget Them. Jayaho!

34
STAY ON PURPOSE

Now it’s the time for the day to begin.

Naturally you are on purpose and are feeling
Sambandha with Radha Govardhanadhari. So no
matter what your engagement may be, you continue
the bhajana by keeping the Holy Name on your
tongue and reading whenever the opportunity arises,
like when you're walking from here to there, while
waiting for the elevator, while waiting in the car to go.
Any and at all times when you are not actually
engaged in any physical or mental activity, you can
read, or quickly chant, or even better to tell someone
what you have read or whatever revelation you have
received. Pure Krsna consciousness means that
your spiritual endeavors are not with any personal
motivation. There may be some things still in the
heart, but don’t beat yourself up. It’s a gradual
process, like a child going from crawling to running
and then to jumping. Prema Bhakti is like a rope;
you are either going up or you are going down, there
is no leveling off. If your day is the same as
yesterday, then you are falling down.

When the father who may be reading the

paper and suddenly notices his infant son trying to
stand and balance himself, suddenly falls again onto
his rump, does the father get angry and say, “You
stupid kid!” and goes to hit him? No! He goes to him
with excitement and encouragement saying “Come
35
on little boy! Come on, try again. Come on baby!" So,
in the same way, Gurudeva and Krsna and all the
rest of those transcendental personalities of our
Guru line are encouraging us,”Come on baby! Keep
trying! Don’t stop, keep trying! Come on, Come on
baby!" This is the attitude of our best Friends, our
Mother Hara and the seed giving Father Sri Hari!

Up to this point we have taken advantage

of the morning program. Now the day has to be of
the same single pointed consciousness. Remember
to keep that Japa with you and your hand inside
fingering those jewels which assist us in our
endeavors to please Radha Radha Vallabha with
Sravanam, Kirtanam and Smaranam of Nama, Rupa,
Guna, and Lila, in Kevala Vraja Bhakti.

Sravanam Kirtanam Smaranam is For

Priya Priyatam! Here are some suggestions on how
to implement.

First is Sravanam, Hearing. The nine angas

or limbs of pure devotional service as you know,
beginning with hearing the name and glories are for
the Divine pleasure of Their Lordships, Then there is
chanting or glorifying for Their Lordships,
remembering Their Lordships, serving Their
Lordships lotus feet, worshiping the Deity, offering
obeisances unto Their Lordships, acting as Their
Lordship’s servant, making friends with Their
36
Lordships and surrendering oneself to Their
Lordships. Sravanam, or hearing, is the first step in
acquiring transcendental knowledge. One should not
give aural reception to unauthorized persons, but
should approach the proper person, as
recommended in Bhagavad-gita (4.34):

tad viddhi praëipatena

paripraçnena sevaya
upadekñyanti te jïanaà
jïaninas tattva-darçinaù

"Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual

master. Inquire from him submissively and render
service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart
knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.”

DO IT WITH LOVE

Hearing is not only the beginning, but it’s carried out

all through the Radha Krsna consciousness process.
Hearing is done in the consciousness that we are
pleasing those Divine Dancers by hearing for Their
pleasure

The Spiritual Masters in this case are the Acaryas of

the Gaudiya Sampradaya. By reading their books in
the mood of devotion and not to learn some new
thing for our own pleasure. This will become pure

37
devotional service, because there is no personal
motivation. So you read some nectar and then you
repeat it to a person of your choice. It is not the point
to tell some one for their enlightenment, or their
enlivenment, or for their entertainment. You glorify
their Lordships to give Radhika Madana-mohana
pleasure. There may not be anybody in your vicinity
that will relish what you have to share. Of course it
would be wonderful if you were to be so fortunate as
to have a partner on this trip. Srila Prabhupada once
said to His gem-like student Yamuna Devi Dasi, that
association means two. Nevertheless, you are on
purpose to get Vrsabhanu-kumari Gopendra-
nandana to notice you. So you are doing your pure
devotional service. And as we all know, when you
hear then you repeat, you will naturally remember,
especially if the subject-matter is appealing to you.

EKADASI

When you have become sold out to

reaching the Prayojana, all these suggestions will
have great value. You will be experiencing all that
you have read about; free of the bodily concept,
tolerant, forgiving, etc.

One important occasion that comes twice a month is

the wonderful Sri Ekadasi. On this day, one can
experience significant advancement in Spiritual life
by dedicating these two days of the month
38
exclusively to the service of our Priya Priyatam!
Ideally these days should be free of any other
business than hearing chanting and remembering.
No mundane association, meaning no talking about
anything with anyone. Best to lock the door and
announce 'MaunVrata' on a note that you put on the
door. Ideally the day should be a 24hr day of no
drinking, no eating and no sleeping. Break the 24hr
day into 3 x 8hr segments. First you begin with
Mangla Arati, Tulsi Puja and then your Japa for two
hours. Then the next two hours with some karatalas
and a song book where you just do Bhajanas and
Kirtans. The next two hours absorbed in reading and
the next two hours writing. Then repeat the
sequence for the next eight hours and then again for
the final eight hours, bringing you into the dawning
of the next day. The feeling you will experience of
making it the whole way, like swimming across a
lake or something! The hard part is the last two or
three hours before day break. This will really test
your endeavor. You will find yourself splashing water
on your face, walking around, anything you can do
to stay awake. Then, surprisingly, when that crack of
first light appears, you will feel a sense of conquer, a
victory, a great feeling that you did it! Without
wanting to deviate from the mood of your bhajan,
Krsna will give you this incredible feeling of devotion.
You will find a surge of immediate full energy as if
you had slept all night.

39
This is an ideal Ekadasi, and may be hard
to do each time, but it’s an immediate goal toward
your final Goal! Considering this ultimate Vrata, you
can adjust accordingly, and do what ever you can.
As always, your purpose is only to please your
Sweethearts of your heart!

THE GOAL IS REAL

One thing to bear in mind is that Rasikarani

Rasikaraja are living, real personalities. They are not
some intellectual agreement, They are the Supreme
Personalities Of Goloka Nikunja! They are the true
Relishers of everything. Krsna says in the Bhagavad
Gita that 'as you surrender unto Them They will
award accordingly'. So as you try to please
Them,They will please You! It’s alright for you to feel
ecstatic You are Sat cit Ananda, Blissfullness
reciprocated with your Best Friends!

This is the most important part of the whole

Sadhana. Its imperative, compulsory, no choice, It
has to be done. To read everyday something about
nama, rupa, guna and lila. It’s also more mandatory
to tell something to someone about Nayika Nayaka
(Heroine/Hero) everyday. And as you remember
what you are sharing, you should be aware that
They appreciate Their devotees glorifying Them!

40
Your day is coming to a close and you
prepare for the evening program. Singing in the
shower is a great policy. Of course you most likely
won’t have to note this down as you will be feeling a
sense of satisfaction and bliss in this real
relationship that is developing in your heart!

Sandhya Arati represents that Nanda Baba

has arranged some entertainment for his son. Either
a puppet show, or a juggling act, or maybe a magic
show, or a comedy routine, etc. So you join the
other devotees in a blissfull Kirtan with ecstatic
dancing and singing. You are Radha Radha-kanta’s
evening entertainment, so cook it up For Their
Pleasure!

After Arati, it’s the Bhagavad gita class,

then some time is there before the hot milk. Sit with
your Rasika associates and read KRSNA BOOK
with the thoughts of serenading the Divine Couple,
then take your hot milk and prepare for rest.

In the old days, we read from five books a

day. First the Bhagavatam class, then before lunch
there was the Nectar of Devotion for fifteen to twenty
minutes. Then between lunch and Sandhya Arati,
was The Teachings of Lord Caitanya, then
Bhagavad Gita class, then KRSNA BOOK. This was
a good system as you can get a well rounded
education of Prabhupada’s books.
41
WRITING IS REMEMBERING

It is also strongly recommended that you

write. Writing is remembering, Srila Prabhupada
used to say, 'Keep in a diary, you now write how
your day was and how much was truly Krsna
conscious'. You pray to your Sweethearts of your
heart how much you have remembered Them today,
that you will remember Them one minute more (or
more) tomorrow.

Now this world is losing its glitter by dint of

a higher taste. When that higher taste is condensed
it then becomes Ruci, taste. That Ruci becomes still
more condensed and evolves into Asakti, deep
attachment. Now back at Nistha the ecstatic
symptoms begin to appear, like tears, horripilation,
and more. The more you read, the more you tell
others, the more you will remember and the ecstasy
and yearning to engage in their Nitya lila, Eternal
devotional service now becomes more prominent in
your prayers. And remembering will start giving what
is called Uddipans, or reminders. Example, when
you are reading about how Sri Radhika, with Her
vine-like arms wraped around the Tamal tree-like
Madhava, you may see in this world a creeper
wrapping around a tree and this will remind you of
those Divine pastimes of Gokula! Eventually you will
experience this material world changing into the
Spiritual world due to these Uddipanas. Naturally as
42
you concentrate on your prayers to want to please
Nagari Nagara (Paramours), being concerned not to
want for your self, Vrajesvari Vrajesvara will
become attracted to your Bhajana and They will
bless you with Their mercy. It is said in the Rasa
Sastras, between Asakti and Bhava, one then
receives their Siddha-deha, their spiritual form. This
can come from within the heart ,or from someone
that Krsna will send to you giving the 11 Dashas:
1) Sambandha - relationship;
2) Vayasa - age;
3) Nama - name;
4) Rupa - form and beauty;
5) Yuthi - group;
6) Vesa - dress;
7) Ajna - specific instruction;
8) Vasa - residence;
9) Seva - exclusive service;
10) Parakastha-svasa - the highest summit of
emotion, which is the aspirants life breath;
11) Palya-dasi-bhava - the sentimentof a manjari
under the protection of Sri Radhika.

Now you enter into Nitya Seva, in your

Nitya Siddha, in the Nitya Lila. serving your guru in
her Manjari rupa serving the Manjari group under
Rupa Manjari, serving under Lalita Devi, Serving
your Swamini in service to that Black Unreliable!!!!!

43
A VERY CONFIDENTIAL RELATIONSHIP

It says in the Uddhava Sandesa, by Srila

Rupa Goswami, that when one reaches Prema,
there are 8 types of Darsans. The first one is that
all the senses become eyes, the touch, the hearing,
the voice, the smell, all become the sense of sight.
Krsna now appears before you. Reminding you that
you have been experiencing the Sattvika Bhavas
gradually and steadily from the Nistha stage. The
Sattvika Bhavas are horripilation, changing color,
trembling, hair standing on end, being stunned,
choked voice, tears in the eyes, etc. They have
been increasing with more occurrences and intensity,
so your body has been almost at the point of
convulsions in ecstatic rapture. Can you imagine
what you will experience when you actually see the
goal, the love of your life, the object of your intense
meditation, Your Beloveds!? The ecstasy is simply
too much, and you collapse to the point of death.
Then our Priyatam gives His Audarya Bhava, His
compassion and brings you back to life, (so to speak)
and stands you back up to receive the next Darsan.

Next your senses now become the sense

of smell and you smell the aroma that the
Vrajabasis of Goloka smell, which is the fragrance of
a blue lotus flower mixed with musk. Krsna’s body
has different smells on different parts of His
Beautiful body. “The fragrance of armpits, eyebrows,
44
hips, and hair defeat the the smell of Parijata and
lotus flowers smeared with aguru. His nose, navel,
mouth, hands, feet and eyes smell of a lotus
smeared with camphor. Thus the whole world is
inundated by the waves of His nectarean fragrance!”
(Govinda Lilamrta 17.9)

“Sri Radhika’s whole body smells like

Kumkum. Her navel, eyebrows, eyes, all smell like
that of blue lotus smeared with Musk and Aguru. Her
chest, ears, nose, hands and feet smells of lotus
smeared with camphor. Her armpits and Her nails
smell like that of the fragrance of Ketaki flower
sprinkled with candan” (Govinda Lilamrta11.117)

Just as with the darsan of the sight, this

darsan drops you and you almost leave your body,
but again The sweet Enchanter of Vraja gives His
Audarya Bhava and He stands you back on your
feet to experience the third darsan.

This time all your senses now become the

sense of hearing. And you hear Krsna’s beautiful
deep voice and like the previous, you fall
unconscious as you hit the ground. As before, He
gets you to your feet with His merciful Audarya
bhava and you now experience your whole body
becoming the sense of touch. According to the rasa
you are in determines the way Krsna touches you. If
you are in Dasya Rasa, then Radha-priya places His
45
lotus foot on top of your head. If you are in Sakhya
Rasa, Then He entwines His fingers with yours. If
you are in Vatsalya Rasa, He then wipes the tears
from your love-filled eyes. And if you have cultivated
Madhurya Rasa, then Madhu-pati (Lord of
sweetness) embraces you chest to chest.

After He has brought you back to

consciousness again with His miraculous Audarya
Bhava, you can experience 4 more Darsans, but
only if you are in Madhurya Rasa. The fifth darsan is
that He kisses you and slips His Tambula (or paan)
into your mouth. The next Darsan is that He takes
you into the bushes for an intimate interlude! After
which you hear His sweet voice again wherein He
acknowledges all that you have endured in coming
to His lotus feet. Of course this is almost unbearable
since whatever austerities and hardships you may
have gone through now seems totally insignificant.
Then the last and what seems to be the most
intolerable thing, is now He disappears from your
sight; and as in the song sung by Srila Rupa
Goswami Your life is now bereft as you sing: ”He
Radhe Vraja Devike ca Lalite He Nanda suno
Kutaha?” "O Sri Radhe! O Sri Syama! Where have
You gone? Are You on Govadhana Hill? Are you on
the banks of the Yamuna? Where are You? Nikunja
me virajo Ghanasyama Radhe Radhe!"

46
I will admit that these last stages have not
yet been experienced. I have given the beginning to
the final end of our adventure according to the
statements in the Sastras. The practical stages have
been revealed and is being practiced as we speak.
The experiences have brought incredible revelation
and the Divine Couple have revealed this booklet in
order so that some of you will be inspired to get out
of the mud of doubt and despair. I know that this is
only for those who are tired of fighting with the
senses, the failure future syndrome and maybe
some melancholy due to the long arduous haul that
we have endured and to fill you with faith and hope.
If anyone out there may know the author and his
past, you will know clearly that if he can do it, any
one can do it. It simply requires a sincere decision
and a stick-to-it driving force of determination.

SVA-NISTHA BHAKTA-NISTHA

Do you know why when Mother Yasoda

was trying to tie up that Makhan Chore that she kept
ending up being two fingers too short? It’s because
the two fingers represented a certain specific
siddhanta. One finger represented Sva-nistha and
the other represented Bhakta-nistha. Sva-nistha is
Krsna’s determination and Bhakta-nistha is the
devotee’s determination. When ever there is any
competition with Krsna and His devotee, Krsna
always relents to His devotees. Yasoda Maiya said,
47
“I am going to tie You up!" Krsna would then say, ”O
no you’re not!" "O yes I am!" "O no your not!" "O yes
I am!" And when Krsna sees you are so determined
(Bhakta-nistha) after his resistance (Sva-nistha),
then He will surrender to the determination of the
devotee’s desire to come to His lotus feet. For it is
said by all the Acaryas, that the only requirement to
enter into the pure devotional service of Nikunja is
Lalyam, greed, greed and more burning yearning
greed. When Their pleasure means more to you
then your own breath! It won’t be so strong at first,
but as they say it’s a gradual process, just like a
crawling infant. One day he will be running. So,
"Come on baby! Keep coming! Come on baby! We
are waiting for you!" Srila Prabhupada has given the
invitation. The Parampara has paved the way. It’s
what we need to do They are waiting for us! And its
what we have been looking for forever in all the
ways we have tried to be happy and tried to love.

So I hope that some of you will pray for

Their mercy and succeed in the goal of life. It’s why
you were born! So now you can please the divine
Couple and serve Them In the Eternal World For
Their Pleasure!

In conclusion, a brief re-cap and additional

suggestions to embellish this wonderful adventure

First: To make a firm decision with prayer
and humble surrender asking, nay, begging with all
your heart to thoroughly and perpetually from now
on to stay on purpose in reaching the goal;

Second: That the prayers are to increase

and are honest and sincere with no self concern;

Third: To adjust the priorities of what’s

important and to keep the Prayojana at the front of
the mind, on a daily basis;

Fourth: To be aw are of those things that

take you away from this single-pointed drive to
please Sri Radha Krsna Yugala, like an artificial
humility whereby self condemnation becomes the
flip-side of self aggrandizement. Being aware when
you are not on purpose.

A very, very good way to stay protected, is

to say something to all those that you have eye
contact with. From a simple ‘Hare Krsna”, or, “Krsna
is blue like a blue sapphire”, or, “Krsna lifted
Govardhana Hill”, etc. etc. etc. to a more elaborate
story, depending on time, place and circumstances.

Fifth: To reveal all your dirty laundry

verbally in private to Thakurji, No hiding any thing.
This may take some time, as you may have put
those really horrible things into the deep recesses of
49
your brain and it will take some digging to root them
out. This will not be much fun as you may recall the
pain that went with the experience;

Sixth: Make a concentrated effort not to

look at the opposite sex or that form which will test
Maya. The newspapers, the old buddies who lure
you into talks of the mundane experiences of the
past; remembering “The Good Ol’ Days”;

This is what keeps us from advancing at all.

Remember, these bodies are a source of
bewilderment, pain embarrassment, misery,
deceit and disappointment. That girl (boy, if that’s
the case), is a closed gate for entering into a
Transcendental relationship with your journey’s end.
When you see a pretty bag of stool, you should
know that the prettier the face, the uglier the heart.
Besides, you won’t get that person any way and it
will agitate your calming peaceful mind, which has
taken a lot of effort to attain. Once Sri Sri Hara Hari
begin to take away the dirty things of the heart,
including this mundane sex desire, you will be
experiencing a developing higher taste, or at least a
great hope for that taste in the future, so you have to
stay on purpose at all costs!

I hope this humble and sincere attempt to

help those who really want to finalize this Samsara
world of avoidance and excuses and who want to
50
meet their best Friends will benefit from this work of
love and devotion delivered with care and
compassion.

I know there is a lot of faults to be found in

this fool. And those who are fond of faultfinding can
have a festival with this faulty insignificant disciple of
Srila Prabhupada. My only quality that can be found
is that I’ve taken the mercy of Patita Pavana
Gurudeva and the Rasika Manjari Guru line. Patita
Pavan Sri Sri Gaura Nitai who came to pick up most
fallen first. Patita Pavan Sri Vrnda Devi and Patita
Pavana Priyaji and Her Priyatam!

One thing that’s vital to remember, is that

the only sure thing in this world is our death. It’s not
about having a nice life; it’s having a nice death!

Following in the footsteps of my beloved

Guru Maharaja, may you have a great adventure
Back to Home, back to Goloka Nikunja!
