INTRODUCTION:
The theory of political conciousness is not a new concept for Indians as it has been there is
existence for many long years. Earlier its rules, regulations, concept and definitions were stated by
the intelluctuals like Manu, Yajnavalkya, Narad and the most celebrated and prominent one the
Chanakya. Then came foreign invaders to India and they lead the socio-political thoghts and
established various kingdoms and dynasty. Afterward in 19th and 20th, it was the period of
renaissance for the Asia and in that time many political leaders as well as religious leaders and
intellectuals defined the political thinking of India. Among them most revered were Mahatma
Gandhi, Vivekanand, Raja Ram Mouhan Rai, Rabindranath Tagore and Javahar Lal Nehru.
HYPOTHESIS:
Socio-political thought of India is continously evolving and getting afresh with the change of
time and it has never hesitated in accepting the ideas of foreign thinkers and adoptedv them i
accordance with the Indian society.
