fifteen IITs, IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad have been declared on May 25, 2011 at 8:00 am as was
notified earlier. A total number of 4,68,240 candidates appeared in JEE-2011 which was
conducted by seven of the IITs on April 10, 2011. Out of the total number of candidates, 13,602
candidates have been declared qualified to seek admission for 9618 seats in the IITs at
Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur,
Madras, Mandi, Patna, Rajasthan, Ropar, Roorkee and IT-BHU Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad. Mr.
Immadi Prudhvi Tej (Registration No. 6076440) who appeared in JEE from IIT Madras zone
topped this year’s All India list of successful candidates. The zone-wise results in terms of the
number of candidates appeared and qualified, and the name, registration number and the All
India Rank (AIR) of zonal topper is given below:

This year 108647 girls appeared for JEE-2011 out of which 1491 qualified. All the seventeen
institutes named earlier admit OBC/SC/ST/PD and DS students through JEE with relaxed criteria.
The number of candidates who appeared and qualified under different categories and sub-
categories as well as the name, registration number and their AIR in the Common Merit List
(CML) are given in the table below.
The counseling website will be open to the candidates from May 25, 2011. This year all
candidates are expected to fill their choice of courses and pay the registration fee on-line.
Candidates are not required to report in person to any of the institutes for counseling.
Candidates belonging to Physically Disable (PD) sub-category will have to report in person to the
counseling institutes for a check up before a specially constituted Medical Board as specified in
the counseling brochure, soft copy of which is already displayed in the JEE website. For the
convenience of such candidates, for the first time, Medical Boards are constituted at IIT Kanpur
and at IIT Khargapur along with IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Madras.

The web release of the first seat allotment will be made on June 21, 2011. The second seat
allotment will be released on July 6, 2011.
This year there will be no SC preparatory list as the number of successful SC candidates is more
than the available SC seats. The number of ST and PD category candidates who have qualified for
the preparatory course are 112Â and 294Â respectively.
For the first time in JEE-2011, the scanned images of the Objective Response Sheets (answer
scripts) will be accessible to the candidates on the JEE website starting from May 27, 2011.
The following institutes, namely, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, the Indian
Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Petroleum
Technology (RGIPT) and Indian Maritime University (formerly DG Shipping) will admit candidates
based on JEE-2011 merit and extended merit lists.

Ms. SURBHI GOEL having Reg. No. 2060084 is the topper among girls in IIT Delhi Zone with an
AIR of 37. A total of 216 girls out of 16834 registered girls qualified from IIT Delhi Zone.
The number of candidates qualified in IIT Delhi Zone are GE Category 1650, OBC Category 277,
SC Category 276, ST Category 54 and PD Category 26.
