Putting up a business is never an easy task. It must be planned to determine its

feasibility. As a business-minded person, the proponent thought of establishing a
unique business - a business which will gain the target profit from the target
market. In the Philippines, experts have claimed that food sector’s as a viable
business. With this, the proponent comes up with the idea of establishing an ice
cream parlor.

The Philippines is geographically located in Western Pacific Ocean, it is surrounded

by natural warm waters that will likely get even warmer as sea-surface
temperature continue to rise. This geographical location of the Philippines
contribute to it’s tropical and maritime climate. It’s climate is characterized by
relatively high temperature, high humidity and abundant rainfall.

Filipinos are inherently food lovers and because of the climate in the
country we delight in eating cold foods. Ice cream have become the all time
favorite of many Filipinos. We are fond of ice cream since childhood, and eventually
grow up with it. Ice cream makes the celebration special and bonds families and
friends. It is not a main dish but it is a dessert everyone would love to have.

Ice cream is a sweetened frozen food made from dairy milk or cream and
is flavored with a sweetener, either sugar or an alternative, such as cocoa or
vanilla. It often comes with fruit flavors. Sorbetes is the Philippines very own ice
cream and has made its mark in our culture and history. Sorbetes is commonly
known as “dirty ice cream”, it is peddled by sorbeteros using a colorfully painted
carts. It has gained popularity because it can be seen going in the street.
Inspired by the Filipinos love for sorbetes or ice cream on cart, our feasibility
study will be concerning to this. Instead of selling the usual ice cream in a cart,
we have adopted a different way of marketing it by selling it in a shop; and instead
of having the usual ice cream flavors, the proponents come up with local fruit
flavors; the fruits that would be primarily used are Marang and Nangka. It would
also be made using natural ingredients. It would make the ordinary plain Sorbetes
a healthier dessert. It would be named as the D'Locals Sorbetes.

People of all ages love ice cream. It is a cause of happiness and refreshment for
them. Because of the obvious pleasure of satisfying one’s own taste buds, almost
everyone has a fond memory of a Birthday party, picnic or romance which included
some form of ice cream. An ice cream parlor must create a unique taste which will
entice every customer. This is one of the goals of the proponent in establishing
the business. Because of this, the proponent comes up to name the business, “Ice
Cream Dream”, a business which will

uniquely perform and entice every customer in Tanauan City.

This feasibility study describes the product which the ice cream parlor will offer to
the public. It also determines the different factors on marketing the
Everyone loves ice cream. With this said, an ice cream business is a great venture,
and the success rate is high. Of course, opening an ice cream shop requires a lot
of planning, and business owners need to know the ins and outs of running a
successful business. (Valencia Higuera, eHow Contributor)

that complement the ice cream are important part of creating the unique ambiance
of an ice cream shop.

Remember the song “Mamang Sorbetero”? This has a lot of things to do with the
Filipino Dirty Ice Cream called “sorbetes” by Filipinos. Is it dirty? The Filipino Dirty
Ice Cream is not dirty at all. It is called at such because it sold in brightly painted
colourful push carts by the sorbeteros (ice cream peddlers) who pushes their carts
along the streets and rings a hand held bell in selling these creamy and delicious
cold treat. Children who hear this bell start running out to the streets and call the
sorbetero for their ice cream treat.

Most Filipino children grew up with buying dirty ice cream and all these are part of
the Filipinos’ childhood memories. As adults, Filipinos still love the sorbetes it is
much cheaper compared to the ones you buy in the groceries and not as creamier
so it does leave the heavy felling compared to eating creamier ones. Most Filipino
feasts and occasions are filled with the sorbetes treat that can serve a whole lot
of guests.

Sorbetes today is still as popular as the other street foods you find being sold along
the streets in the country. In fact, the Filipino Dirty Ice Cream itself is a street
food.

Filipino Dirty Ice Cream is still very much in the market and it is still as popular
during your childhood days. You can always see ice cream peddlers along the
streets with their push carts waving their hand held bells to draw small children’s
attention.
