Computer, Computer!: by Heather R. Ashley

The poem describes the main parts of a computer, including the central processing unit (CPU), hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, and scanner. The CPU is where all the processing begins and contains the hard drive for data storage. The monitor displays information visually like a TV. The keyboard allows input of letters, numbers, and text. The mouse helps navigate screens using buttons and a rolling wheel. A printer outputs text and images onto paper, and a scanner digitizes paper documents and photos onto the computer screen.

Computer, Computer!
by Heather R. Ashley

Computer, computer!
You have so many parts.
There are big ones and small ones
And one that makes you start.

The Central Processing Unit's

where it all begins.
Some people call it the CPU. The mouse has two buttons
It has a hard drive which And a rolling wheel in the middle.
Saves everything you do! It helps guide you across the screen
when you give it a little jiggle.
The monitor is the top part
Which might look like a TV. A printer puts your words on paper.
It shows everything in color It can even print pictures too.
So that you can see. Some printers are black and white,
While others print in color by mixing
The keyboard lets you input red, yellow and blue.
Letters and numbers alike.
So that you can type great A scanner is a special type of camera.
Stories and poems if you like. It's quite an amazing machine.
It will take a snapshot of your paper
And put it on the screen.

Computers are marvelous devices

That allow you to do many things.
But in school I always save my work
Right before the bell rings!
