[HOSPITAL NETWORK]
A depiction of a hospital network on Cisco Packet Tracer V 7.1.1
INTRODUCTION
The network is simulating a hospital network environment, incorporating multiple departments
in a hospital, including Research Centre, An OPD and an in-patient department along with
finance and a core management department, the research center simulated is spanned over
multiple cities, is also paired with top security and disaster warning systems; Being a crucial and
expensive set up, it is the most secure in the entire network grid.
All research centers can communicate with each other and the PD Server only, and
the management
Finance can communicate with the management only.
Nursing, patient and management will be able to communicate, with each other except
GENERAL ROUTER CAN ONLY TALK TO DHCP
1
Design
As the network consists of several different networks including Class A subnetted, this
caused, issues in implementing ACL, and several false positive results
On the other hand, many basic things worked well, the router configurations were
seamless, the switches worked exactly as expected without delays, there were some
issues encountered in wire choice that were taken care of by installing the correct wire
type.

Conclusions
We started off the project by trying to simulate a real life network and opted to simulate a large
hospital network, which spans over cities, our network constitute of an IPD, OPD, Nursing
Department, Finance department, with appropriate access control implementations ensuring
secure transmission of data within network of the entire hospital.

a. What was accomplished / learned
As they say, you learn something new every day, we too had a lot to learn
from this project, including but not limited to:
To implement port security, on a single port of switch, you need a
hub connecting all those PCs to a single port of a switch
Implementing ACL and EACL efficiently.
Adding smoke and motion detector, along with a siren and
configuring it.
How to trigger a smoke detector.
Further we accomplished subnetting Class A IP, implementing EIGRP on a big
network, implementing it on network of this size was the first time, discovered
and connected smoke detectors, sirens, motion sensors etc.
