Course Outline in ACC103 IT Application Tools in Business

Course Description: This course covers the core principles and techniques of data and
information management to aid students in collecting, analyzing and maintaining data
effectively. It covers processing and optimization of declarative queries, transactions,
and information integration.

Credit: 3 units

Prerequisite: None

Course Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Describe and explain advance spreadsheet concepts.


2. Describe and explain database concepts.
3. Develop a financial model using a spreadsheet software.
4. Design and develop a database application.

Classroom Policies:

In order to make our classroom a conducive learning environment, everyone is


expected to observe the following policies:

1. Everyone deserves respect and so, in all instances, treat everyone and their
property with civility and respect.
2. Attend your class regularly.
3. Be on time, and be seated in your assigned seat.
4. Listen and give time when someone is speaking.
5. All ringers must be turned off or in a silent mode. For emergency purposes,
notify your professor.
6. All earphones, headphones, headsets may not be used in class unless you are
allowed to do so.
7. Observe proper classroom decorum, i.e. wearing proper uniform and ID.
8. Come to class prepared for discussions.
9. Pose content relevant questions for discussion and clarification.
10. Participate class discussion in a constructive and informative manner.
11. Avoid side conversation with your fellow classmates during class.
12. Pass assignments/home works, researches and the like on time.
