1. There are various ways by which learning transfers. Discuss how the teacher facilitates
transfer of learning?

The transfer of learning from one experience to another depends on how well the teacher
knows his students. He should be familiar with the knowledge obtained by his students in order
to apply this principle. One example is when teaching “Drama” in the English subject, the
teacher may ask what movies his students have already watched. With this procedure, he may
connect the lesson with the movies resulting to easier retention of new knowledge since
previous knowledge is used as the foundation.

2. Discuss the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation

Intrinsic motivation is based on motive or intention of accomplishing a task without any


tangible rewards. It is purely based on the satisfaction a learner may feel when a task or a
job is accomplished. An example is when a student gets inclined with a lesson since it will
use his previous knowledge or skills (ie. A student who likes playing computer games might
be more interested in learning the topic on troubleshooting computer issues).

On the other hand, extrinsic motivation comes from the surroundings of the learner. It
comes from the external stimuli that the learner may get when accomplishing a task. One
example is the praises or compliments that the learner may get when he gets a high score in
an examination.
