IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson (or) presenting the new lesson
Guessing Game.Divide the class into 2 groups.
(Activity 1/ Q2/ W4/ D1 G3)

a. Pick a picture of animals in the magic box.


b. Don’t tell the name of an animal instead act out how the animal moves.
c. Anybody from the other group may guess the name of the animals
The group who gets more points will earn a prize.

B. Establishing a purpose to the lesson.

Show a video about animal parts and their environment and how they move.
C. Presenting examples / instances of the new lesson
Group pupils into small groups. Each group will be given live/miniature animals to observe.
(Note: Live animals are small animals which can be collected from the surroundings like
butterfly, ants, snails, caterpillars, etc..)
 Follow safety precautions in making observations of live animals

Observe at a close distance;


Do not touch the animals;
Ask for assistance by raising your hands;

 Do the activity

Fill out the chart (Each group will be given enough time to make observations.)

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 1.

Answer the following:

1. Can you name the animal? What are its parts?


2. How does it move? What body part is used in moving? Describe the movement?
3. What are other animals that show the same movement?

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 2.

Analyze the statements below and answer the questions that follow.

1. The frog jumps. What enables it to jump? What other animals jump?
2. Butterflies can fly. What enables them to fly? What other animals fly?
3. The earthworm crawls. What enables it to crawl? What other animals crawl?

Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 3.

Make a list of animals on the chart showing their movements (Activity 3/ Q2/ W4/ D1/ G3)

E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did this work?

1. Group work among my students’ works well because I see them all engaged in the activity.
2. Giving students more time to explore and discover the task given allows them to make their
presentations nice and effective. It teaches them to think of a great presentation.
3. Video presentations as a springboard to teaching are likewise effective. Students absorb it
faster if they are looking at a video; because most of the students these days are bodily
kinesthetic and visual learners.
4. Game as an introduction to a topic was also found out to be very effective as well. Students
tend to understand easy and well if they are enjoying the lesson. Learning at the same time
enjoying is effective because a happy class is a learning class.
5. Power Point Presentations are also very useful for students. It facilitates easy and faster
delivery of the lessons.

F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or superior can help me solve?

1. Students Attitude during the class is seen as a problem. Dealing with pupils/students in this class
is a challenge.

G. What innovations or localized materials did I use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers

1. I find a localized video showing activity a very interesting and effective material for my class.
2. I find localized animals or insects found within the school that we used for group activity.
