DENNIS, DAVID D—REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TIME TO


PRODUCE EVIDENCE

David D Dennis appeared before the General Conference Executive Committee to


make a statement and to request that he be given an additional 30 days to produce more
evidence to support his position. Following his departure from the committee room, it was

VOTED, To consider the documentary evidence available, and then to take a vote
regarding the request of David D Dennis for an additional 30 days to produce evidence.

VOTED, To adjourn one hour for lunch.

Robert E Osborn opened the afternoon session with prayer.

DENNIS, DAVID D—DENIAL OF REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL


TIME TO PRODUCE EVIDENCE

VOTED, To deny the request of David D Dennis for an additional 30 days to


produce evidence.

Humberto Rasi requested that it be recorded that he voted against the above motion.

Preceding the final vote by secret ballot, Walter L Pearson Jr offered prayer.

DENNIS, DAVID D—REMOVED AS DIRECTOR OF THE


GENERAL CONFERENCE AUDITING SERVICE

Based on allegations of moral misconduct brought against David D Dennis, which


were unrelated to his professional work as an auditor, a five-member Panel of Inquiry was
established to review the charges. This panel reported its findings to the General Conference
Administrative Committee on December 19, 1994. After hearing the report, ADCOM voted
the following recommendations to the General Conference Executive Committee.

To receive the report of the Panel of Inquiry relative to David D Dennis. A


copy of the report is filed with the official copy of the minutes.

2. To release David D Dennis as Director of the General Conference Auditing


Service and to terminate his denominational employment, effective immediately. Final
settlement will be made according to policy.

3. To withdraw David D Dennis' ministerial credentials, and to record that by his


conduct he has made void his ordination.

After considering these recommendations, it was

VOTED, 1. To remove David D Dennis as Director of the General Conference


Auditing Service,

2. To terminate his denominational employment, effective immediately,

3. To make final settlement with David D Dennis according to policy,

4. To withdraw David D Dennis' ministerial credentials, and

5. To record that by his conduct David D Dennis has made void his ordination.

(The above action was voted by a 73 percent majority.)

2. To record that the following field name changes have been approved by the

General Conference, Silver Spring, Maryland

This Panel of Inquiry, in executive session, upon careful consideration of the case
involving versus David D Dennis, is making the following
recommendation:

That upon considering the charges of , witnesses called by her,


and upon careful reflection on the documents presented at that hearing, and after giving equal
consideration to the defense of David D Dennis to these charges and hearing witnesses called
by him, and considering the documents presented on his behalf, it is this panel's finding that
the allegations of are true. Therefore, we conclude David D Dennis
did engage in sexual misconduct with the said in a manner
inconsistent with and unbecoming to an ordained minister and elected official of the Seventh-
day Adventist Church,
