Lesson Plan in TLE

Content Standard: Types and Uses of Cleaning Tools, Equipment, Supplies and Materials.
Performance Standard: 1. Used appropriate cleaning tools and equipment properly.
Learning Competencies/Outcomes: LO1. Use appropriate cleaning tools, equipment,
supplies, and materials.
Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the different cleaning tools, equipment, supplies, and materials;
b. state the importance of cleanliness;
c. suggest/come-up actions to resolve cleaning problems in their own
household
Subject Matter: Types and uses of cleaning tools, equipment, supplies and materials

Materials: books, visual aid, Power Point Presentation
Preliminaries: Prayer
Greetings
Checking of attendance
Reminding class rules (observe cleanliness, listen, participate, CLAYGO)
Motivation: Show students a plain white clean cloth or paper and an unclean cloth.
Ask them to compare what they see on the objects shown. Let them share
their ideas.

Ask the following questions:


1. How do the two clothes differ?
2. What do you think is the use of these clothes/paper?
3. Can you give some examples of tools and equipment for cleaning?
Lesson Proper
Activity: Charade
The class will be divided into 5 groups. From the given table below, each group will pick 3
tool/equipment/supplies/materials. One person from the group will act the tool/
equipment/supplies/materials picked and the rest of the members will guess what is acted
out. The fastest group to finish wins!

1. What are the most commonly used cleaning tools & equipment in your home? At
school?
2. Can you identify the different uses of cleaning tools and equipment?
3. Can we use a cleaning tool without knowing proper ways to operate it?
4. What are the possible things that would happen if we operate a cleaning tool
without any idea on how to use it?

Abstraction: (Power Point Presentation)


1. What have you learned?
2. If you were given a chance to create new tools and equipment what would it be and
how will people use it?

Application: Group the class into 5. Each group will be tasked to list the tools/equipment/
supplies/materials needed to clean the following:
Group1: Inside the classroom including the Comfort Room
Group2: School’s Lobby/Guardhouse
Group3: Lawn/Yard in front and back of the classroom
Group4: Principal’s Office
Group5: Home Economics Room/School Canteen
