Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Describe how you could address Universal Design for Learning principles
to extend and support the learning experiences for all students.
Nearpod allows students to explore different types of interactive activities so that they can choose how to
present certain content. Whether a student may have an auditory or a visual impairment, steps can be taken
that will allow for them to be successful. This software is generally easy to use and easily accessible.
Lesson idea implementation: As you address the standards, what will students and teachers do? How will
the project be introduced? How long will it take to complete? How will student learning be assessed? How will
the final product be used to inform/differentiate learning? How will you extend the student learning to a
higher learning level? How will you conclude the lesson? How will you provide feedback to students about
their work? MINIMUM 2 paragraph overview.
Students will design and implement a Nearpod presentation on any topic they choose. They must include a
minimum of 3 different activities (poll, quiz, open-ended questions, etc.). Once the Nearpod has been
approved by me, they will begin presenting to their classmates. Students will have as much time within two
class periods to complete their presentations.

Assessments will be based off of creativity, content inclusion, effort, and accessibility (is it easy to use?). The
final product will be used to guide a discussion on whether or not the presentation’s topics and content were
beneficial and useful to the class. Students will re-visit this presentation later in the semester so that they can
include more content, improve what’s already been implemented, and, hopefully, walk away with an overall
improved presentation. Students will be assessed using a rubric.
Reflective Practice: After designing this lesson idea, how do you feel the activities you created could impact
student learning? You may have designed this idea as an introductory activity to a unit of study. With that in
mind, what could be done to further extend the lesson? Are there other technology tools that could further
enhance this project?
Student learning can be impacted in many ways, one of which is by having the students teach to each other.
Perhaps they will respond differently if their peers dictate the content and direction of the lesson. As both
the presenter and the performer, students will see what worked well, what didn’t, and where they can
improve. Students may want to begin working on a Google Slides presentation that will ultimately be
transferred to a Nearpod presentation.
