Review Text ‘Sweet Chaos – Day6’ Song
Orientation :
Sweet Chaos is DAY6 song that release on October 22, 2019 from their
new-released album The Book Of Us: Entropy. This song is the title track
from the album. Sweet Chaos is fierce, yet upbeat song, tune ruminating
on how plans are overturned and everything is upside down, in a good
way, because of the "Sweet Chaos" of another person who has entered
one's life.
The music video features five members of DAY6 performing the track in
sleek suits on a dramatically-lit stage. They are later seen
disintegrating, End Game-style, from the feelings of "Sweet Chaos."
Bassist-vocalist Young K served as lyricist on “Sweet Chaos,” while Jae,
Sungjin, and Wonpil also co-wrote the song along with frequent
collaborator Hong Ji-sang.
The new album is said to depict two different sides of romance, with the
first six tracks relaying the sweeter moments and the latter songs
depicting the tougher times.
Intepretative recount :
This song how plans are overturned and everything is upside down, in a
good way, because of the "Sweet Chaos" of another person who has
entered one's life.
This song tells about a woman who come into the life of the guy. This woman changed the
life, dream, taste, style, and everything of the guy and made a nice mess in his life. All of his
plan that have been arranged continue to tear apart since the women come to his life, and
makes the guy feels like a fool. Although his life become chaotic, the guy still like it.
Evaluation :
This song is very good because it is accompanied by a very energetic drumming
Day6 has members with quite unique vocal abilities. This song is very good because in this
song there is Sungjin with his high voice, wonpil with his unique voice, dowoon with his
amazing drumming, and jae and young k with his amazing guitar playing.
The lyrics are very good because it tells the story of a woman who came into this man's life
who made a sweet mess and the man loved it as in the lyrics "it's a sweet chaos" is really
addictive.
The music video is very unique because at the beginning of the song it was only black and
white but in the middle of the song it started to be colored. According to the lyrics that read
"since you've entered the stage, my life, dream, future and everything has been changed" that
really illustrates the video clip.
the lack of this music video in the music video is just continuously showing themselves.
There is no storyline in the music video. But even so the video clips are still awesome
because they show their cool side and their handsome faces.
Evaluative summation :
Overall this song is very good to hear .the singer is very good ,the lyrics is so cool and the
music video is so unique. We give 9.5 for the song, 8.5 for the music video, and overall rating
is 9. We really recommend everyone to hear this song.
Not just for DAY6 but almost every other artist will have that hurdle to get past if they want
me to vote them for Song Of The Year (hint hint). Though, I admit that Sweet Chaos is a
good followup. Just not good enough to exceed their previous title track. Having a very
familiar instrumental that I just cannot pinpoint in my mind, Sweet Chaos manages to push
the right buttons. Firstly, the song’s punk genre roots feel like something only DAY6 could
do because they have that Western background. Secondly, I think the genre really sets the
bands vocals up nicely. Thirdly, I am loving the post-chorus hook, which really tied up the
chorus well. The intensity and energy rush the song has is definitely a side of DAY6 I enjoy,
as per my past reviews. I also find the drums to be a really dynamic part of the song.
The video contrasts to what we got last time from the band. To fit in the grungy vibes, the
music video is shot in black and white at the start. Apart of me wanted it to stay that way but
I liked what they did, as well. I find the way they brought colour to the video to be nice. But
the way they gave colour to Sungjin felt rather cheap. Apart from that, I can only say positive
things about the video. I really like the special effects they had in the video and I liked how
the video got progressively intense as it went along
