PROSPECTUS

COURSE – BIO GAS TECHNOOGY ( COURSE CODE – BT )

The demand for the generation of renewable energy through the application of green
technology is increasing day by day. Lot of peoples are showing been interest to
study about different green energy technologies. BIOGAS is one of the important
sources of renewable energy now available.

With the advancement of information technology any one can study the different
courses in biogas technology and its application online. The study materials will be
accessible online for study anywhere in the world according to the convenience of
the student. There are two modules in the course about Biogas technology

THE SYLLABUS

Module One – Biogas

A. Basics of Biogas
History of biogas, introduction to biogas, utility of biogas , Up gradation of
Biogas, different types of materials used for the production of biogas.

B. Process
Introduction to anaerobic digestion Technology, Different stages of produ
ction of biogas .
C. Operational Parameters
Different factors contribute the production of biogas like Retention period,
Loading rate, Temperature , Carbon Nitrogen (CN) ratio , Acidity and
Alkalinity ( pH ), Presence of toxic substances etc.

Module Two – Biogas plants


A. Biogas plant

What is biogas plant, Important parts of a biogas plant and designing a biogas
plant. Different categories of Biogas plants like domestic, Institutional and
community. Classification of Biogas plants such as Batch type, semi
continues type and continuous type.
B. Different Models

On a study about different models of biogas plants like Fixed dome model,
Floating dome model, RCC digester with Flexible gas collector,
Geomembrane digester, Tube digester, Lagoon digester . Portable biogas
plants, Pre fabricated biogas plants and also the plants constructed at site.

C. Possibilities

Different outputs from biogas plants like green fuel, organic manure. Role of
biogas plants in sanitation. Possibility of Industrial level biogas plants. Socio
economic benefits from biogas plants. Possibilities of getting carbon credit
from biogas plants. Important points to be considered before designing a
biogas plant.

Course Fees: For the students outside India US$ 98

For students from inside India INR. 6500/-

Admission procedure

1. Fill up the application form in full and submit the same.


2. After submission enter in to the payment page for the remittance of course
fee. The course fees may be remitted either by Online transfer or by using the
Credit Card or through PayPal account.
3. The payment details may be informed to BIOTECH through email.
4. After the admission is approved a login Password will be emailed to the
student.
5. The course can be started soon on receipt of the login Password .
6. Access to the course will be Three months from the date of remittance of the
fee and the issue of login Password.

Commencement of the Course

• The course page is to be logged on using the password for starting the
course.
• The status of the course will be reflected in the course home page.
• The course content may be read carefully and repeatedly to understand the
details.
• Once the study is completed, one can enter in the examination page.
• On entering in the exam page it won’t be possible to get access to the study
page again.
Appear once for the examination is the next step.
For the examination there will be twenty objective type questions each
carrying 5 marks
To pass the examination a minimum of 50% marks has to be secured.
In case the marks secured are less than 50% of the total, one more chance
will be given the students to appear the examination for a second time.
Three chances alone will allowed for appearing the examination.
Once 50% marks or above is secured the student cannot appear for the
exam again.
A certificate will be issued to the students on passing the examination.
