Lesson Plan in Science 5

I. Objectives:
At the end of 45 minutes, with 80% proficiency level the pupils are
able to:
A. Identify ways on how animals get and eat their food.
B. Classify the body parts used by animals according to the food they
eat.
C. Show the importance of having body parts in getting and eating
food.

Topic: How animals get and eat their food
Reference: Science 5, pages 59-63
Materials: Pictures, Manila paper, Marking Pen, Visual Aids
Strategy: Round Robin

b. Introducing of the New Lesson.
What do you think is our lesson for
today? -Our lesson for today is all about “
How Animals get and eat their
food”.

c. Activity Proper
We will have a group activity in relation to
our topic for this day. This activity is entitled ‘
Round Robin” you need to have a brainstorming
within your group and I will give you 5 minutes in
doing it..
I will divide the class into 3 groups. Those who are
sitting in the front will be the group 1, and middle
the group 2 and lastly those who sitting at the back
will be the group 3.

Instructions:
*Form a circle within your group .
*Select a leader, secretary and reporter
. *Leader please get your materials.
* After 5 minutes the reporters start to discuss
their output

Meanwhile, birds
cant suck blood
since they don’t
have a long tube
that is use and
sipping ,they have
only beaks and claw
and lastly Frog
didn’t chew also its
food but it directly
swallow it.
2.Birds uses it beaks in
picking and cracking the
seeds.

C.Closure Activity:
a.Generalization
How animals get and eat their foods? -Animals have body parts that help
them to get and eat their food.

Animals have teeth for eating. It


Can you name some body parts? can be flat teeth for plant eating that
is used for grinding and chewing
and sharp, pointed teeth for meat
eating that is used for tearing .In
addition animals have also a hand
that is used for grasping and
holding foods and Other animals
such as bird do not have teeth to
get or eat food instead they have
beaks that used to pick and crack
seed. Animals like bees, butterfly
and mosquito uses their long tube
that is called proboscis in sipping
and lastly frog have long and sticky
tongued that pops out to catch food.

Instruction:
Within your Groups while ago, classify what food
they eat and what body parts they use to eat their
food. Write as many as you can.
