NOTE
1. Candidates seeking admission to more than one M.Tech Programme /Specialization need to apply
separately.
2. Age Limit: Not more than 26 years as on 1 July 2020. Relaxations as per GOI rules.
3. Sponsored Candidates are exempted from qualifying GATE requirements and there is no age limit.
4. A sponsored candidate must be in service of the sponsoring organization. The sponsoring
organization must specifically undertake to provide full salary to the candidate and to relieve him /
her to pursue the programme for its full duration.
5. DIAT shall recognize equivalence for admission to various M.Tech Programme to the technical
courses conducted by various Professional Bodies/ Institutions which were duly recognized by
MHRD with permanent recognition upto 31 st May 2013, as per AICTE Public Notice
No.P&AP/10(04)/2017
Double Degree (DD) Program Offered Jointly by DIAT and Cranfield University (UK)
DIAT in association with Cranfield University (CU) proposes to commence a Double Degree
(DD) program from the academic year 2020-21. Under this program, the admitted
candidates will receive two degrees concurrently, i.e., M.Tech degree from DIAT and an
M.Sc degree from CU in respective disciplines. Admission will be open for sponsored
officers from Indian Army, Navy, Air force, Defence Public Sector Undertakings, DRDO and
Indian Ordnance Factory as well as civilian scholarship students. The program will be of two
years duration wherein the candidates will undertake their studies of two semesters at DIAT
and two semesters at CU. The admission to the DD program will be subject to Academic
Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) clearance of the UK government as needed for study
certain subjects in the UK. One complete form containing the required/relevant information
will be made available at both website and information brochure of DIAT and CU.
Eligibility:
1. Educational qualifications as per DIAT norms.
2. Valid GATE score (only for civilian scholarship students).
3. Valid IELTS band score of 7.5 or more.
4. Valid passport and Visa.
5. Any other eligibility criteria (if not mentioned here) will be governed by the existing
norms of DIAT and CU.
Admission Procedure:
The applicant will fill a single form for the admission of DD program. The form will include the
details needed by CU as well as DIAT. The data needed by CU will be forwarded by DIAT to
CU for processing application for admission to the respective M.Sc program at CU. Similarly,
DIAT will process the application form for admission to M.Tech program. The admission will
be offered by DIAT based on the fulfillment of the requirements as applicable for M.Sc as
well as M.Tech programs of CU and DIAT respectively.
Specializations at CU:
The students admitted in DD program can opt specialization in the following areas for their
M.Sc degree from CU.
The specializations mentioned in (1-4) & (6) will be offered at Shrivenham Campus of CU
whereas (7) & (9-10) will be offered at the Bedford campus of CU.
Apart from the above mentioned specializations, admission will also be considered in other
specializations offered by CU at their respective campuses.
Scheme of Study:
Shrivenham Campus: [For specializations (1) to (6)] (For Entry in September 2020 and
onwards)
Bedford campus: [For specializations (7) to (9)] (For Entry in March 2020 and onwards)
The expenditure at CU will consist of tuition/academic fees and living expenditure. The
academic fees will be charged by CU as per the norms of CU. The living expenditure for the
duration of course at CU is estimated to be 12000-15000 British pounds. The total
expenditure including living expenses may vary between 26000 pounds and 54000 pounds
depending upon the specialization in MSc at CU.
Award of Degrees:
After completion of the study at the both campuses; the candidate will be awarded an M.
Tech degree in respective specialization by DIAT and an M.Sc degree by the Cranfield
University in the selected specialization. Both degrees certificate will be handed over to
successful candidates during DIAT Convocation as per DIAT norms. The degrees M.Tech
by DIAT and M.Sc by Cranfield University will be awarded only if the student has
successfully completed the academic requirements of both the degrees as prescribed by the
respective universities. The students enrolled in this program will not be eligible for
consideration of gold medal or other merit awards of DIAT.

I SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORY
a) Qualification:-
55% marks or 5.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination as indicated against the disciplines
concerned and valid GATE Score. The qualification should have been obtained from a
UGC recognized University / Deemed to be University / Institution in India. The
candidates who are in the final semester of their degree are also eligible to apply; Mark
sheet up to the last semester should be enclosed. Provisional certificate in such cases
along with Mark sheet of the final semester are required to be submitted before
commencement of program.
b) Age limit:-
a) Qualification:-
55% marks or 5.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination as indicated against the disciplines
concerned. The qualification should have been obtained from a UGC recognized
University / Deemed to be University / Institution in India.
Note: - Sponsored candidates are exempted from qualifying GATE requirement and
there is no age limit.
SELECTION PROCESS:
i. SCHOLARSHIP
Admission to the M. Tech programme may be made directly based on the performance at
common all-India competitive test such as GATE etc or, based on GATE and Interview
with due weight age (80% on GATE score and 20% on interview) with due approval of
Vice Chancellor.
Admission to the M Tech program will be granted in the July Semester of each year for
MoD sponsored candidates through Research & Training (R&T) and Postgraduate
Training (PGT) schemes for DRDO and Tri-service officers including Coast Guard
respectively. These admissions shall be operated jointly by DIAT and RAC/DRDO
(through DHRD/DRDO).
(a) A candidate who is sponsored by his/her employer and who meets the additional
conditions specified below may be admitted through a separate selection committee
appointed specifically for the purpose.
(b) A sponsored candidate must be in service of the sponsoring organization. The
sponsoring organization must specifically undertake to provide full salary to the candidate
and to relieve him/her to pursue the programme for its full duration.
(c) The sponsored candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech. programme will be
selected based on their performance in a qualifying examination/ interview or both.
RESERVATION POLICY
DIAT follows the reservation policy of Govt. of India as applicable to Higher Educational
Institutions for reservation of seats for SC15%, ST 7.5%, OBC 27%, EWS (10% of Total
Seats) and PWD (Not less than 4%) candidates.
BOARDING / LODGING
Fee Details:
1. MoD Sponsored (DRDO, Coast Guard & Services) Students:-
The Semester fee in r/o each sponsored candidates of Ministry of Defence (DRDO,
Services & Coast Guard), Govt.of India will be Rs.54,000/-
Note: Only First year fee is to be deposited at DIAT. Second year fee to be
deposited to NIELIT.
Note: - Every student shall be required to Re-register by submitting the duly completed
Re-registration form along-with proof of payment of Semester Fee, at the beginning of
each semester
3) Scholarship Students:-
All Scholarship category students are eligible for scholarship of Rs.12, 400/- per month
under DBT scheme of AICTE during the M. Tech. Course
Selection Procedure:-
1 A sponsored candidate must be in service of the sponsoring organization. The
sponsoring organization must specifically undertake to provide full salary to the
candidate and to relieve him/her to pursue the course for its full duration.
2 The sponsored candidates seeking admission to the M.sc in Food Technology
course will be selected based on their performance in the interview.
3 Self- Sponsored candidates are not eligible for this course.
Selection Procedure:-
1 A sponsored candidate must be in service of the sponsoring organization. The
sponsoring organization must specifically undertake to provide full salary to the
candidate and to relieve him/her to pursue the course for its full duration.
2 The sponsored candidates seeking admission to PG Diploma in Fire
Engineering and Integrated Safety course will be selected based on their
performance in the interview.
3 Self- Sponsored candidates are not eligible for this course

How to apply:
1. Admission Notice has been published on 16th March 2020, in the leading news-papers
and DIAT website, for admission to various Post-Graduate Programme for July 2020.

Website opens for online application process will start on 17 March 2020
Note:
1. For admission related matter, all information related to application process will be
available in the DIAT website.
2. No request for any changes in the date of counselling cum admission will be
entertained
3. Candidates applying for admission to any Post Graduate Programme at DIAT must
ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria on the prescribed date. If on verification at
any time before or after the admission, it is found that they don’t fulfil any of the eligibility
criteria or it is found that the information furnished is false or incorrect, their candidature
will be cancelled.
