A.
1.Procedur Text
Text that explain how something works or how to use instruction/operation manuals, step
by step.
2. Purpose
The Purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something.
3. General Structure

 Goal / AIM
This text contains about purpose of making or operating of something.
 Materials / Equipment
Materials consist of ingredients that are used in making something. But not all parts
of procedure text includes materials, sometimes procedure text does not have
materials section.
 Steps / Methods
Contain the steps or sequences that must be done so that the objectives outlined in
the aim / goal to be achieved . Steps pr sequences must be a sequence from the first
to the last.
4. Languange Features
A. Use adverbial of sequence / using temporal conjuction (e.g : First, Second, Third, the
last)
B. Use command / imperative sentence (e.g : put to noodles on the... , cut the onion.. ,
wash the tomatoes... )
C. Using adverbial ( adverbs) to express detail the time, place, manner, accurate, for
example, for five minutes, 2 hours ,etc.
D. Using action verbs (e.g : make,take,boil,cook)
E. Using simple past Tense
5. Making Bed Tips

1. Make sure you have all your clean pillowcases, sheets, etc..

2. Make sure there is no dirt or dust on the mattress.

3. Place your mattress pad on top of your mattress.

4. Put on the fitted bottom sheet.

5. Lay down your flat sheet.

6. Place the cover on the bed.

7. Fold in all of the corners.

8. Place pillows in their corresponding pillowcases, fluff and


then flatten to stand tall.

B.
1. Passive voice
In general we tend to use the active voice. That is when a subject does an action to
an object. The passive voice is used when we want to emphasize the action (the
verb) and the object of a sentence rather than subject. This means that the subject is
either less important than the action itself or that we don’t know who or what the
subject is.

2. Passive Forms of some tense


 Present Simple Tense ( is/are/am )
Active voice : He writes a Letter
Passive voice : A Letter is written by him

 Present Perfect Tense ( has been / have been)


Active voice : I have made some cakes
Passive voice : Some cakes have been made by me

 Past Simple Tense ( was/were )


Active voice : I helped him
Passive voice : They were helped by me
 Past Perfect Tense ( had been)
Active voice : He had collected coins
Passive voice : Coins had been collected by him

 Future Simple Tense ( will be )


Active voice : You will receive the letter
Passive voice : The letter will be received by you

 Future Perfect Tense ( will have been )


Active voice : He will have received the letter
Passive voice : The letter will have been received by him

3. Underline the passive sentences

 Aristotle held the same view that technology is the consequence of


imitation of nature, but he added in his book Physics Book II  that:
"generally art in some cases completes what nature cannot bring to a
finish."
 technology is a subject of debate because it is considered to be a
double-edged sword. While it has helped humanity in extending its
potential with outstanding inventions, it is nonetheless threatening
humankind through some other destructive ones.
