Angels We Have Heard On High - French carol, ca.

1862
Angels we have heard on high
sweetly singing over the plains
And the mountains in reply,
echoing their joyous strains.

Glo-ria in excelsis de-o(x2)

Shepherds, why this Jubilee?

Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be?
Which inspire your heavenly song?

Come to Bethlehem and see

Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ, the Lord, the newborn King

See Him in a manger laid Jesus,

Lord of heaven and earth!
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
with us sing our Savior's birth.

Jingle Bells - James Lord Pierpont publ. 1857

Dashing through the snow on a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, laughing all the way;
Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing, a sleighing song tonight
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh

Away In a Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
The stars in the heavens looked down where He lay,
the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes,

but little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky,
and stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay,

close by me forever and love me I pray!
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
and fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing - Charles Wesley(1707-1788), 1739
Hark! the herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!"
Joyful, all ye nations rise; Join the triumph of the skies;
With angelic host proclaim "Christ is born in Bethlehem!"
Hark! the herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ, by highest heaven adored; Christ the everlasting Lord;

Late in time behold Him come, offspring of the favored one.
Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see; hail incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King"

Hail! the heaven-born Prince of Peace!

Hail! the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die;
Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth
Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King"

It Came Upon The Midnight Clear - Edmund H. Sears(1810-1876), 1849

It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth with news of joy foretold,
"Peace on the earth, good will to men
from heaven's all gracious King."
The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come,

love's banner all unfurled;
And still their heavenly music floats o’er all the weary world.
Above its sad and lowly plains old echoes plaintive ring,
And ever over its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing.

Joy To The World - Isaac Watts(1674-1748)
Joy to the world! The Lord is come.
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing
And heaven and heaven and nature sing

Joy to the world, the Saviour reigns

let Saints their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, Repeat, the sounding joy

Joy to the world with truth and grace

and makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love and wonders of His love
And wonders and wonders of His love

O Come, All Ye Faithful - Attributed to John Francis Wade(ca. 1711-1786)

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold Him, born the King of angels;
O come, let us adore Him (x3) Christ, the Lord.

Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exaltation,

Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above;
Glory to God, glory in the highest;
O come, let us adore Him (x3) Christ, the Lord.

O Little Town of Bethlehem - Phillips Brooks(1835-1893), 1868
O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight.

O Holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray;

Cast out our sin and enter in; Be born in us today!
We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel!

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer - Words by Robert L.

May (c) 1947, Music by Johnny Marks
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it you would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph play in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say

Rudolph with your nose so bright won't you guide my sleigh
tonight?
Then all the reindeer loved him and they shouted out with glee
"Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer you'll go down in history!"

The First Noel - English carol, 17th century

The first Noel the angels did say,
was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay,
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep;
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Noel Noel Noel Noel! Born is the King of Israel!

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - J. Fred Coots, Henry Gillespie (c) 1934
You better watch out you better not cry;
Better not pout I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list, and checking it twice;

Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping;

He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good,
so be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out! You better not cry.

Better not pout, I'm telling you why.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Santa Claus is coming to town.

White Christmas - Irving Berlin 1942

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

with every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
and may all your Christmases be white.

Silent Night - Joseph Mohr(1792-1848), 1818
Silent night, holy night! All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child;
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight!

Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Saviour is born! Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night, holy night! Wondrous star, lend thy light!

With the angels let us sing Alleluia to our King!
Christ the Saviour is here, Jesus the Saviour is here!

Silent night, Holy night! Son of God, love's pure light

Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at thy birth; Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Silver Bells
City sidewalk, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style.
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas.
Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner you'll hear:

Silver bells, silver bells, it's Christmas time in the city.

Ring-a-ling, hear them ring, soon it will be Christmas day.

City street lights, even stop lights, blink a bright red and green,
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures.
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch,
This is Santa's big scene, and above all this bustle you'll hear:
