The war in Syria started in 2011 as the extremist tried to take over the government, this started
a civil war and it ended up creating a refugee crisis as everyone from Syria was trying to run
away and escape. As all people do they wanted to go to more money and have a better living life
style so most want to go Germany and stay there, at the same time they want to bring their
families into Germany. Since Germany at this moment are having a problem with it as no strait
rules have been made to do with refugees in the EU, a lot of countries are not taking them and
sending the back to their war-stricken countries. Not all these refugees come from Syria, but
some of them come from places like Albania and Serbia, these are called economic refugees
which are trying to gain money and move into west Europe. Most refugees are male and around
the age of 20 as they are sent by their families to gain money and send them back in
remittances. A lot of countries got involved in the war effort to even though you would not need
as many people participating, the UN is, Germany, Russia, USA and Britain. Most refugees are
held by turkey and it is increasing, the MEDCs are not taking a lot of the burden.

Refugees are coming into Europe, there are benefits and drawbacks in certain situations. The
give a stronger workforce and provide countries like Germany a higher birth rate which will
increase the economy. The workforce will most likely be cheaper labour and will offer low skilled
jobs, as more of them need to be taken, as the European population doesn’t want these jobs as
they expect to get paid more. More refugees will give a bigger culture diversity and will increase
the internationalism and make people accept other cultures more as they are more known. The
country gets a brain gain when educated and creative people with new ideas come to a country.
The experience a brain gain so the get more skilled workers in a certain profession. I also believe
that it would not be acceptable if that country didn’t take any refugees like Bulgaria, as they
came from a war-stricken country, and they need help, but a big problem is that it will increase
the support of the far right which isn’t very good as it could damage Europe.
