 Check for file TemplateBuilderInstaller.log at %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\ or
C:\Users\<user_name>\Appdata\Local\Temp

Note:
Another option which can prevent access to the template builder is if Add-Ins: are disabled in Microsoft
Word on the system.
To Check whether Add-Ins are enabled:
Open Microsoft Word, select Options from File menu, then Add-Ins, then select Disabled Items, select BI
Publisher Template Builder for Word, and Enable it.

Installing Financial Reporting Studio

Note: If you have to re-install FR studio, please make sure you do the following:
 Delete the Program(Financial Reporting Studio) from the Control Panel
 Delete the entire FR studio directory on the machine. The default directory is as
follows:
o R7-R9: D:\Oracle\Middleware\products\FinancialReportingStudio
o R10+: D:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\ products\FinancialReportingStudio
o C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialReportingStudio

1. From the Springboard, click the Financial Reporting Center icon.

2. Click Tasks icon> Open Workspace for Financial Reports link.

3. Select Tools > Install> Financial Reporting Studio.

4. Download the file locally. To install, right mouse click>Run as administrator.

5. During the installation, when selecting the directory to install FR Studio, install it on the C: drive (not D:
drive). You need to install it on the C: drive because later when we edit the Windows Registry, it will
look for files in the C: drive.
6. Do NOT Close any of the pop-up windows or DOS windows when installing FR. Wait until you see the
Finish button on the Install Wizard Completed pop-up and the windows close themselves. THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT!
7. For Firefox users, start Firefox browser.

Once you enable the “Allow this installation” checkbox, you will have a button on the bottom of this page
to “restart” Firefox. Click on that and you will notice an add-on displayed in your Firefox browser.

Known Issue with SHA-2 When Connecting to FR Studio

SHA-2 (Secure Hash Algorithm 2) is a recent browser SSL certificate requirement, which is used by our
training environment and Oracle Cloud environments. There is a known issue when using this set of
cryptographic hash functions designed by the National Security Agency (NSA), that requires windows
registry settings for HyperionReport > JVM to be modified to add the following two settings: a. Modify
JVMOptionCount > Change Binary from 9 to 10 b. Add JVMOption 10 > Modify > Value Data = -
Dweblogic.security.SSL.enableJSSE=true

We have a file that does this automatically.

1. Click on fr_registry_L11D01.reg and download it to the directory where you downloaded
FinancialReportingStudio.exe.
2. Find the file in Windows Explorer and double click on fr_registry_L11D01.reg.
3. You will get an Access Control warning > Click OK on that. It takes two seconds to update and you will
get a confirmation window. You can now use your FR Studio.
Check Oracle Applications Cloud Functional Known Issues - Release 11 (Doc ID 2113515.1) on
support.oracle.com for further details and updates. When a fix for the issue becomes available, it will be
removed from the known issues list, and customers will not need to run the registry file.

Testing FR Studio Installation
1. To access FR Studio on your machine, go to Start > All Programs > Oracle > Financial Reporting Studio
> Financial Reporting Studio.
2. This will launch the login screen for FR Studio. Enter your user id, password and Server URL
https://adc-fapXXXX-bi.oracledemos.com/ and click OK.

Note: In the classroom, you will need to change “XXXX” to the environment assigned to you. Thus, the
url will change to https://adc-fapxxx-bi.oracledemos.com/ , where “xxxx” is your specific environment.

Note for future reference at the Client Site: The Server URL is the url on the EPM Workspace page:
(Financial Reporting Center > Tasks > Open Workspace for Financial Reports)

3. Go to File > New > Report. This opens a page that looks like a blank sheet of grid paper.
4. Go to Insert > Grid.

5. Then take your cursor and draw a box on the blank sheet of grid paper. When you release the cursor,
it will open a dialog window.

6. If you see the database connection that you want to use, select it, and enter your user id and password
on the bottom and click OK.

7. If you can get this far, CONGRATULATIONS!

Troubleshooting FR Studio
Error 1:

If you get the following error when trying to launch FR Studio, then you most likely did NOT launch the
setup.exe file in Administrator mode or closed the installation windows prematurely.

You will need to uninstall FR and all of its directories and then reinstall in Administrator mode by
selecting the right mouse button and choosing Run as Administrator option when installing the exe file.

Another possible solution for the above error on Windows 7 or Vista can be found in Doc ID 138952.1.

Cause of this problem - The FR Studio is not installed as an Administrator and some files were
missing during installation.
You will need to:

Run the HRRunAnt.cmd file which is located in the following location:

C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialReportingStudio\products\financialreporti
ng\install\bin

After running that command, restart the system.

Error 2:

"You Are Not Authorized To Use This Functionality. Contact Your Administrator" (Doc ID 2131740.1)

If you get the following error when trying to log into FR Studio, this is an env. issue with some of our env. This
should NOT happen at the customer site.

The installed version of Studio is not the same as the installed version of the Financial Reporting Servers.
Financial Reporting requires that the client and server versions must be the same. If the workstation client
install had previously worked correctly, the version difference is very likely the cause of the message.

1. On the Financial Reporting Studio client machine, open Windows Registry Editor by clicking Start >
Run. Type regedit.

2. Before making any changes, backup Windows Registry using the "Export" option.

3. Locate the following section: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hyperion

Solutions\Hyperion Reports\HReports\JVM

4. Create a new "String Value" entry with following name and value:

Name: JVMOptionY

Value: -Dweblogic.security.SSL.enableJSSE=true

[Replace the 'Y' in JVMOptionY with a value equal to (current value of JVMOptionCount) + 1.]

5. Select the JVMOptionCount from list, click on Edit and under base select Decimal radio button.

6. Increase the value by 1.

7. Restart the machine for the new settings to take effect.

Please compare JVM registry values with
C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialReportingStudio\products\financialreporti
ng\install\scripts\ FRRegClient.xml
