ARREARS OF STUDENTS LOAN AHEAD OF EXAMS: NUGS DRAWS

DIVINE EDEM KWADZODEH
(GENERAL SECRETARY) THE DEMO LINE

As we proposed in our recent press conference on 28th May,2020, government
has adopted a gradualist approach to getting final year students of the Junior

(SECRETARY FOR EDUCATION) High, Senior High and University back to the classrooms and lecture halls. More
024 606 6089 than ever in a pandemic time, the fees to register for exams have become critical.

PETER DARKWAH
Therefore, the over 34,000 students under the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF)
(SECRETARY FOR FINANCE) should be paid their loans for the 2019/2020 academic year so they can register
054 770 1440 for their examinations. As we speak, some 2,000 students under the scheme have
not been paid what is due them for the first semester. The Second semester loan
OBED NANA YAW OSEI facility hasn’t been disbursed either. This semester which ends in few weeks’ time

We gave government a period of five (5) days to intervene to avert the likelihood

allowed to sit for the exams.

government and Minister of Finance to meet our demands would mean a
deliberate gloss-over and indifference to the welfare of the Youth and Students

Therefore, by this release, we are declaring our ALUTA intentions once again. We
HARRY KARIKARI ANTWI are calling on all students to show public support to the National Union of Ghana
(SECRETARY FOR Students (NUGS) and the thousands of destitute brothers and sisters under the
