Introduction

I would like to introduce myself as Sneha Joshi , a permanent resident of Pokhara Metropolitan
City , Ward No.08, Province No.03, Nepal. I was born on 22 nd March, 2001. My Passport number
is 11583466. The course which I am Planning to study is Bachelor in Nursing in Australian
Catholic University, Sydney Australia.

Academic Background

Regarding my academic history, I completed my school Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Peace
Zone Academic Scoring 3.40 GPA in 2017 A.D. Then I joinSrijana Secondary School for my higher
education ( 12th ) taking science as a major stream. In 2019 A.D, I graduated my higher
secondary school scoring 2.92 GPA . I wanted to pursue my education aboard so I joined IELTS
preparation class and took examination on 10th October 2019. I was able to score overall 6.5

I did some research regarding which country to pursue for my bachelors. There are many
countries that are popular for abroad study. Due to some drawbacks and limitations , I decided
to continue my further studies in Australia because of its international recognized degree.
Secondly, Australian universities are widely recognized for its existence as they deliver practical
and career-oriented education through which students can acquire skills and knowledge
required to enhance their career. Likewise, the cross act dealing about the rights of
international students and tuitions protection Scheme (TPS) , making the fee safe and secured
are the most convincing factors. It is multicultural, safe , friendly and welcoming society offering
excellent environment for international students to adjust and study. Moreover, I have chosen
Australia because it has implemented rules which protect the rights of education. Not only
these, Australia also makes students feel at home by allowing them to work part time to
integrate into Australian Society. The housing and education cost are relatively affordable to
encourage more students to apply. Also, climate of Australia is very much similar to that of my
nation. Hence, it will be easier for me to adapt in this environment. Due to all these, I
undoubtedly have chosen Australia as my study destination.

Why Not Nepal?

Before deciding to apply for an international degree, I researched in the web about my
interested course here in Nepal. In Nepal there are not good universities and institutions for
higher education. There are only five accredited universities in Nepal which are Tribhuvan
University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University and Mid-western
University. At the moment, the competition is very tough for these universities. Students need
to sit- through various entrance examinations, which have only a limited number of seats for
admission. There are many people who have been trying for 3-4 years and are still unable to
secure a seat. The quality of education provided is not as good as compared to the international
one. As Nepal is a developing country, its education is progressing slowly. It has a traditional
method of teaching and is not considered as good as compared to international one. The
degree hold very little value compared to an international degree. The course here are
theoretical based more than practical based. Thus, if I graduated my bachelor in Australia, I will
learn to be an independent person by performing all my daily chores and responsibilities
myself. I will learn every circumstances by my own. Therefore, I believe that I will grow as a
responsible , self-dependent and confident person when I return back to my native land.

Reason for choosing ACU

I want through various universities like western Sydney University ( WSU) , Southern Cross
University ( SCU), Edith Cowan University ( ECU) and Australian Catholic University ( ACU).

I took my final decisionon ACU. I got to know ACU became a best suited study destination for
me comparing tuition fee, course structure. IN case of entry requirement , I had to choose
Tertiary preparing pathway ( TPP) which leads me to bachelor in Nursing . In Australian Catholic
University , they provide a wide range of course in the field of health sector and is the largest
provider of nurse in Australia. Moreover, ACU is among the top 101-200 universities in the
Times Higher Education ( THE) impacts ranking. It provides an inspirational setting with very
affordable fee having AUD$14,540 per semester . ACU is building on their reputation for
excellence in teaching , developing the quality and volume of their research outputs. It is a
publicly funded institute , and it heavily invests in several research programmes. Its research
institutes focus can areas that need global attention health , education , social justice and the
common good.
