    Budget Conclave 2020-21

    1.Welcome the gathering

    Good afternoon to one & all.

    It’s truly a proud moment for all of us to have gathered here today at Shri Dharmasthala
    Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, for Union Budget Conclave-2020, in
    collaboration with CII. On this occasion, I, Keerthana, extend a warm welcome to all the delegates,
    guest, faculty, students and the press for being a part of the conclave today.

    Budget is a financial plan of government for a definite period. The Union budget is formulated keeping
    in mind the necessity, to provide rapid and balanced economic growth with equality and social justice to
    all. The Indian economy is the bright spot in the global landscape, emerging as one of the fastest-
    growing major economy in the world and is expected to be one of the top three economic powers of the
    world over the next 10-15 years, backed by its strong democracy and partnerships. There have been
    proposals for various investments in the country showcasing a bright, robust economy for India in the
    future.

    2. Inviting the dignitaries on the dais

     Mr Amit Kumar, Vice chairman CII Mysuru and Vice president and metering & protection
    systems, L&T ltd.
     Mr. Rabindra Sahoo, Co-Convenor CII & Vice President-Finance at Cyient DLM)
     Mr. Ganesh Krishnamurthy Director, Deloitte
     and Dr. M Sriram, Assistant Professor Finance, SDMIMD
     & coordinator of the Budget Conclave to kindly occupy their seats on the dais.

    4. Welcome Address
    I now request Dr. M Sriram to deliver the welcome address & give a brief on the program and budget.

     I now request Dr.N.R.Parasuraman to share his thoughts on ‘The Indian economy’ & Budget
    2020-21.

     I now request Mr. S. Ranganathan to give his remarks on the Union Budget 2020.
     I request Mr. Amit Kumar to address the gathering.
     I request Mr. Bhasker Kalale to address the gathering.

    I now request the dignitaries to kindly occupy their seats below in the front row.

    5. I now request PGDM Students of SDMIMD, to present the highlights of Indian financial budget
    2020.

    6. I now invite Mr K.Bhaskar, Partner at Deloitte - to give his Analysis of the Union Budget 2020 on
    Indirect Taxation.

    7. I invite Mr. Sharath Rao, Partner at deloitte to give his analysis on direct taxes.

    8. I now invite Mr. Ganesh Krishnamurthy to give his analysis on Transfer pricing.
    9. I now request Dr.N.R.Parasuraman, Mr. S. Ranganathan, Mr. Bhaskar Kalale, Mr Amit Kumar, Mr.
    Ganesh Krishnamurthy and Mr. Rabindra Sahoo to take their seats on the dais.
    The floor is now open for the Q&A session, which will be moderated by Mr. Rabindra Sahoo.

    11. With this the budget conclave 2020 has come to an end. I thank everyone for their active
    participation.
