TOE-UP MAGIC LOOP SOCKS

This is a great beginner’s sock pattern for a ABBREVIATIONS


simple, toe-up sock. The sock is knitted in the k - Knit
round using the magic loop method and is great P - Purl

2.5mm, 80cm Circular knitting needle or needle st(s) - Stitch(es)

FIRST HALF OF HEEL


You will be knitting the heel back and forth over
half of the stitches of your sock

Row 1 (RS): k29 (31), ws and turn

Row 4: p to 1sts before previous ws, ws and turn

Rep Rows 3 and 4 until 14 sts remain unwrapped

SECOND HALF OF HEEL


Continuing to work over half of the stitches in
your sock:

Row 1 (RS): k to ws, pick up wrap and k together


with st, ws and turn
Row 2 (WS): p to ws, pick up wrap and p together
with st, ws and turn

SPECIAL STITCHES
m1l - Insert the left-hand needle, from front to back, under the strand of yarn which runs between the
stitch just worked and the next stitch on the left-hand needle. Knit this stitch through the back loop.

m1r - Insert the left-hand needle, from back to front, under the strand of yarn which runs between the
stitch just worked and the next stitch on the left-hand needle. Knit this stitch through the front loop.

ws (RS) - With yarn in back, slip the next st purlwise, bring yarn to the front, slip the stitch back to the left
hand needle, take yarn to back and turn work, ready to purl.

ws (WS) - With yarn in front, slip the next st purlwise, take yarn to back, slip the stitch back to the left
hand needle, bring yarn to front and turn work, ready to knit.
