1. The sales data of an item in six shops before and after a special promotional
campaign are as under:

Can the campaign be judge to be a success? Test at 5% level of significance. ( For v =
5, t0.05 = 2.57)
2. In an anti-malaria campaign in a certain area, quinine was administered to 812
persons out of a total population of 3,248. The number of fever cases is shown
below:

Discuss the usefulness of quinine in checking malaria. (For v = 1, 2 at 5% level of


significance = 3.84)
3. In an experiment on immunization of cattle from tuberculosis, the following results
were obtained:

Calculate 2 and discuss the effect of vaccine in controlling susceptibility to


tuberculosis. (For v = 1, 2 at 5% level of significance = 3.84)
4. A tea company appoints four salesmen A, B, C and D and observes their sales in
three seasons – Summer, Winter and Monsoon. The figures are given in the
following table :

i) Do the salesmen significantly differ in performance?


ii) Is there significant difference between the series?
