PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT REPORT

IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Minahil is a student of matric. She belongs to a low middle-class Sunni family. She is the
eldest child of her family. She has 4 siblings. Her father is a shopkeeper and mother is a
housewife.

REFERRAL SOURCE AND PRESENTING COMPLAINTS

She is friend of my sister. I approached her for the sake of my report. The presenting
complaints reported by the clients are feelings of embarrassment, aggressive, discomfort leads
her to irritated and have thoughts of food and stress related to study and low financial resources.

INTERVIEW INFORMATION

According to client, she is a good student is fond of studies. She is the student of Govt.
school. She is in 10th class. She has habit of eating a lot. She loves to eat. When she feels
irritated, she eats a lot. Her study problems lead to tension. She does not take much stress but to
some extent thing comes to mind and makes her irritable. She tries to learn or to study but when
feels difficulty she become aggressive. She wants to memorize thing immediately and when this
doesn’t happen, becomes angry. She had joined the academy but due to low financial resources
has left now. She uses internet to understand the subjects and lessons.

According to previous history of client, it came to know that she had eating habit from
childhood and is now looks fat. Everyone in family taunts her and stops her to eat. She feels
embarrassed when someone calls her Moti and asks to eat less. The taunts make her more
irritated mood. She feels happy during eating. The financial resources are not enough to eat her
fast food therefore she is used to eat rice. She wants to control her obese but feels impossible due
to her eating habit. Her financial resources of family were good before now. Today the resources
are not enough to fulfil her requirements of study and this make her feel tension. When she feels
some kind of these lacking, she eats more.

Client belongs to a joined family. She has good relationship with all. As she is eldest
child and first born in joined family, everyone is loving and caring towards her. She is good
student of the class. She is responsible and good in study therefore teachers consider her a good
student. She is more closed to her father than mother.
BEHAVIOR DURING TESTING SESSIONS

She seems to be nervous as she was not aware of the procedure. I told her some
information so that she did not feel confused. She was not much aware of her thoughts and
feelings so I helped her to explore. She completed her SPM little quickly. She felt difficulty at
the end of SPM. She was looking confused during HFD but then completed it after taking
instructions 2 times. During the test of TAT she felt it difficult and asked to leave after
completing 5 stories, but I admired her and then she became interested to complete it.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

The Bender Gestalt (BG), a neuropsychological screening test indicates that the client’s
visual-motor abilities are intact.

Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), a test of abstract reasoning (it is one aspect of
intelligence) which indicates that the client’s intellectual capacities fall within below average
range.

Human Figure Drawing Test (HFD), a projective test, indicates that the client has the
inability to think straight forward. In addition, a Projective test Thematic Apperception Test
(TAT) indicated that client has good self-concept. Client’s significant needs are; achievement,
nurturance, support and affiliation. Client’s significant conflicts are industry vs inferiority and
intimacy vs isolation. To deals with conflicts he used defense mechanisms of rationalization,
reaction-formation and repression. Client’s main conflicts are due to the lack of resources in the
environment. She tried to maker her successful at the end. The less resources lead her difficulty
to accomplish achievements. She tried her thoughts to take in positive manner.

TENTATIVE DIAGNOSIS

The client has Binge eating disorder. Therefore, the diagnosis will be for Binge eating
disorder

PROGNOSIS

As the client is not much mature to evaluate herself and to control over it. She co-
operated with me to solve her issue. She tried to be responsible and with the help of her it
became possible to overcome the problem.
CONCLUSION

The client has eating disorder. The stress of her study makes her aggressive. She feels
guilt after over eating but doesn’t know how to control over this. I tried to guide her fully with
discussed pattern of eating and strategies to avoid problem causing behavior. She co-operated in
her assigning tasks and after completing these tasks , she felt effectiveness of treatment.

RECOMMENDATION

1. Will recommend to eat according the discussed pattern of eating


2. Use the thought distraction therapy
3. Avoid the aggressive causing events
4. Direct her behavior to something else while the thoughts of eating are coming
