Description and Operating Instructions
Hollow jet nozzle with shut-off for emission of extinguishing water by means of full and angle-
variable spray jet.
Shut-off:
The control lever is used to turn the nozzle off or on. Lever forwards: CLOSED, lever
backwards: OPEN.
Operating instructions:
During operation the nozzle produces a repulsion force which depends on the pressure
and the water flow rate. Therefore the shut-off always has to be opened and closed slowly.
Flushing:
In case the knurled adjustment collar is turned into the flush-position, dirt parts up to 6 mm diameter
are flushed out.
The especially marked position 45°-spray angle (pointer on top) on the red head of the nozzle
produces a spray cone which can be used effectively in case of danger of flash-over. The spray jet
120° (pointer in 11 o’clock position) produces a s pray cone which is considerably finer and larger.
Mode of operation:
The turbo-nozzle 2400 produces a focus full jet and a spray jet up to 120° maximum. The sizes of the
droplets are 0,5 mm at 6 bar and adjustment 400 l/min. Higher pressures and/or lower flow rate
reduce the droplet size to approx. 0,3 mm. The ring gear in the head of the nozzle (jet forming sleeve)
reflects water droplets and always guarantees a filled up spray cone in the spray jet positions. As a
result of the fast rotating turbo wheel during spray jet, a fine atomizing of the spray jet is produced. By
means of the droplet size and distribution a considerable heat is absorbed and therefore an
excellent extinguishing effect is achieved. When working with a spray angle of 45° - pointer on the
red nozzle head “on top” – a concentrated spray picture is produced which avoids sudden
vaporization of the extinguishing water. Moreover hot fire gases can be fighted effectively during
inner attacks.
High throw distances are achieved in focus full jet by means of a corresponding mechanical
striking force of the water stream.
Service instructions:
After having worked with foam, the turbo-nozzle has to be flushed with water after use.
The turbo-nozzle should be drained after use by uncoupling from the hose and repeated
switching “OPEN” “CÖSED”.
The turbo-nozzle can be disassembled and assembled with standard tools, provided that the user
disposes of knowledge in function and some experience. It is a fact that the flow rates have to be
readjusted correctly for all hollow jet nozzles – in case of repair we recommend to return the turbo-
nozzle to the factory.
