Defining DIGITAL PEGAGOGY

It is precisely not about using digital technologies for teaching. We are better
users of technology when we are thinking critically about the nature and effects
of that technology. What we must do is work to encourage students and
ourselves to think critically about new tools. So, it is as much about using digital
tools thoughtfully as it is about deciding when not to use digital tools, and about
paying attention to the impact of digital tools on learning.
Developing digital skills in childhood is important to ensure children are safely and
effectively engaging with digital technologies, whether at home, for school, and
later on in life in the workplace. It is one of the tasks for schools in XXI century.

Each of us must remember that we cooperate with the children who were born
in the reality full of mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, computers etc. They
sometimes cannot even speak clearly but they already know how to use
electronic devices. In today's quick and ever-changing society, it is necessary to
a adapt to new practices and adopt new strategies, especially regarding
teaching. If we want to request from students, cooperate with them, teach them,
encourage them talking to us, we should be somebody inspiring for them. Then,
our job of being a teacher will be much easier.

It is important that we know all we can and use any available resources to
facilitate a learning environment where our students can feel welcome, safe and
intellectually challenged. Pedagogy - the art of teaching is one of extreme
importance. You can kill someone's love for a subject or awaken the passion for
studying. We must take and integrate the best methods to use to teach.
Remember: Teaching does not mean the students learnt anything!!!

Through the use of the many digital resources available to us, we can transform
the classroom and the students' learning experience into something challenging.
The days of the only entertainment being the blackboard with three different
coloured chalk sticks are numbered over. If we can use some devices like an
interactive whiteboard available, use it. If you can play videos in class via a
projector; use it. If you can upload material to the Cloud or the Google Drive;
never hesitate!!! Just USE IT.
Digital pedagogy is thus is to find a style of teaching you are comfortable with,
one where you integrate something the students can relate to: create a
Facebook Group where people can post queries. Spike their interest to use the
internet not only as a place to post selfies on their 100 pages of social media.

Digital Pedagogy is thus a kind of teaching where we integrate easiness of access


to information with how to focus your knowledge on a specific subject; adapting
our teaching style to accommodate students.
