Chapter no 1 problems
Problem no 1-1

1. If 31.25*1018 electrons are removed from a neutral dielectric.

How much charge is stored in coulombs?
Given data :-

N= 31.25*1018

AS e= -1.6*1019
Find :-
Q=?
Solution :-
As we know

Q= Ne

Q= (31.25*1018)(1.6*10 -19)

Q=5 C Ans

Problem no 1.3

A dielectric with a positive charge of +5 C has 18.75*1018 electrons

added to it. What is the net charge of the dielectric in coulombs?
Given data:-
Charge on dielectric = +5c
Electron added with dielectric = 18.75*1018
Find :-
Net charge in coulomb =?
Solution :-
As we know

The charge of 1 electron is -1.60*1019C

the charge on 18.75*1018 is

-1.60*1019 *18.75*1018 =-3C

add the -3C to the +5C we end up with +2C
+2C Ans
