“Come in! Ah yes, it’s Bob. Well, Bob, I’ve heard you were talking in the study-
hall last night.”
“Please sir, I broke my pen. I had to talk to Jenkins for a minute, sir, to ask him
for another one.”
“No excuses, boy! You have to follow the rules here, like everybody else. You
must obey the school rules! I’m going to teach you a lesson, Bob. Come here. Stand
by the window. Now, touch the tops of your shoes”.

1- Earlier I was studying in Queen Elizabeth Public School. One day as usual I
came back from school, had my lunch and sat down to do my homework, later I
took permission from my mother and went straight to the playground. When I came
back home and sat down to drink milk, my mother told me that she was going to
change my school. I thought she was joking. But in the evening when my father told
me that I was really going to join a different school, I immediately stopped doing my
homework.
2- On the very first day of my new school, I had to get up at 6 o’clock. I had
a quick bath and a heavy breakfast. I dressed up and the bus was already waiting
for me. I reached King Charles bus stop. There I met Teddy, who was studying in
MODERN SCHOOL. He asked me to board the white bus. This bus took me to
Greenfield bus stop. At Greenfield I met Ralph. He was studying in class 6, section
A.
3- When the bus reached the school I was a little confused as I did not know
where to go. Just then I saw my old friend David; he was earlier studying with me at
Queen Elizabeth School. He took me to class 6 section E. After the school prayers I
introduced myself to all my classmates and the class teacher. I was expecting that
the other students would tease me. But I was prepared and they could not trouble
me. At the beginning of every period they all used to shout together and call out to
the teacher for me. I also was very much excited. The students were good to me, but
they teased me a lot. The teachers were kind to me.
4- It was an exciting day! I made many friends and now I was a student of a
big school. When I came back home, my father, mother and my younger brother
surrounded me and eagerly asked me a hundred questions. They were pleased to
see me happy.

Text 10
When you were younger; were you a picky eater? Did your parents have to
force you to eat things that were good for you? Hopefully you listened to what they
taught you and ate up your dinner. Koalas are too stubborn for their own good!
Koalas live in tall eucalyptus trees also known as gum trees also Lucky for
them they eat the leaves of the eucalyptus tree .Since there are over 600 different
varieties of eucalyptus tree ; the Koala should have no trouble finding food .However
; Koalas are even pickier than you ever were about what they eat .Out of the 600
varieties ; they will only eat the leaves of about 120 Kinds of eucalyptus trees
.Really ; they are even pickier than that . The Koalas of a specific area will only eat
about four or five different kinds of eucalyptus leaves. They would actually rather
starve than eat the other kinds. Now that’s stubborn! The biggest problem right now
is that the brush land where many Koalas live in Australia is being cut down to
make room for houses and cities.
