ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
College of Business and Management
First Semester
June-October 2018
Last June 19, 2018, College of Business and Management students had its first
departmental meeting. It was held at the SMCC Rooftop Magbayanihan Building at exactly
6:00 pm. Mrs. Renita Lourdes Lagapa our former dean, introduced the faculty members of
CBAM Department as wellas the JFNEX officers. After the introduction of JFNEX Officers,
the election for JOBS Officers followed, leaded by Ms. De Lima and Mr. Dalagan. The
meeting was adjourned successfully with the closing prayer led by Ms. Marebec Sandra De
Lima.
On June 23, 2018, parents from 1st Year - 4th Year were called for their first PTCA
Meeting. The meeting started at 9:40 am led by Mr. Irvin Lariosa. Mrs. Renita Lourdes D.
Lagapa introduced the CBAM Instructors, JOB Officers, the Parents and also the new and old
students. After that, the election for PTCA officers followed. Mr. Noel E. Bitancor facilitated
the votation of proposed uniforms for new Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and
Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship. The Research, Feasibility Studies, and Seminar for
3rd Year BSBA Students was also discussed by Mrs. Jocelyn Ramos. The meeting ended at
11:00 am.
As a requirement of our subject, the 4th Year BSBA conducted and sponsored a seminar
themed “Financial Inclusion Expanding the Reach of the Capital Market”. The said seminar
started at 7:30am-5:00pm at SMCC Audio Visual Room. Our guest speaker, Mr. Antonilo
Mauricio was a very good speaker. He shared to us his knowledge that we can use in the
future. It was very fulfilling and I can say that the tips that he gave to us can enhance our
personality to be more confident in entering business world. After his talk, he gave us an
activity to write on a one whole sheet of paper our plans after 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years
and what we have already achieved by that time. The students actively participated the said
activity. The guest speaker even taught us on how to make a proper handshake. He then gave
us a piece of advice not to rush on getting married because according to him, not everyone
has to do so.
The seminar ended successfully. The students walked out the room full of knowledge
they never thought they will have.
Month of September is the celebration for founding anniversary of SMCC. The 4 th Year
students of BSBA is required to have our own booth in the Business Incubation Center
located outside the school. The class president, Ms. Arlyn Bonjan presided a meeting last
September 6, 2018 for the planning of what product are we going to sell on Foundation Week
(September 7-14, 2018). The class decided to sell junk foods and soft drinks in the morning
then barbecue and alcoholic beverages in the evening. We may have a hard time throughout
that week but we manage it successfully. After the foundation week, we received a good
profit even if we have a small amount of capital to start the business.
