1. Self-Introduction

My name is Arundeep Singh Buttar, I am an Indian, born in Sangrur district of Punjab.

My hobbies are reading, exercising and doing research in my spare time. Also I like to meet
new people talk to them and learn different things. Communication is the best skill one could
have to stay in trend with people as well the growing world, and being from a joint family we
always talked a lot with each other which in growing years led me to become an extrovert.

I am studying General business course from Alpha International Academia. My father

Some of my skills are problem solving, decision making, logical thinking and good
communications skills. These skills are the basic need one require in business to manage and
control it efficiently. I am hoping to grow a strong and successful business with the help of
my skills and my studies.

2. Reason for why you have chosen this area of study

A degree in General Business will help me develop leadership skills and also achieve my
goal to start my own business. The theories and basic construct of business will allow my
entrepreneurship spirit to grow and lead in the growing world.

Furthermore, in chaotic economic conditions, employers mostly look for candidates who
posses a business degree from a reputed college, and have the skillsets to meet the
organizational goals. The fact is undeniable that, business degree holders are mostly preferred
over other candidates. This study would help me to gain experience in my area of interest and
be successful in the industry I am working.

A business program will allow me to develop these skills. Not only I will learn fundamentals
of business including Finance, Marketing, human resources and management but also it will
help gain some skills to communicate, lead, and to possess some critical thinking skills.

In the present market scenario, decision-making roles are offered by most of the companies
all across the globe, irrespective of the business size or shape. Businesses engross candidates
all across the globe. Candidates must have acquired degree from a country, and gained
experience from another country, they may have special skills and ability, or they may have
run their personal business; whichever it is, this will benefit the companies with fresh ideas
and thoughts. Communicating with them will allow me to learn about the culture and their
thinking abilities. This will allow my mind to grow with wide concepts of world with an open
mind which is necessary to grow a successful business.

3. What will a potential employer find attractive about your current or past
accomplishments and/or education?

Along with stability, work-life balance is another goal desired among most of the students
odf this era. There are many other considerations, encompassing leadership, dedicating to a
cause, and so on are among other significant goals.

My capability to engross people with my words will be among my special skillset that would
mainly fascinate my employer. I am an extrovert, I understand people, analyse them perceive
their actions, body language and thought process, and then I put my word in front of them.
Referring my skills to the market scenario, I can confidently say that I can even do door-to-
door market and satisfy my employer by accomplishing my targets, and help my employer to
accomplish the targets,

I can certainly articulate that logical decision-making would be my one of the other skills that
would fascinate my employer to hire me instantly. I can list numerous instances where logical
decision-making has helped me in my personal and professional life as well.

Key management skills can be highlighted as one of prime skillsets required by any
organization to succeed in the current market scenario. The accomplishment of any
organization relies on the competent of strong management skills and managers themselves.
The decisions made by competent managers would be aligned with the organization’s goals,
and they would always lead the organization with their logical decision-making skills.

4. Top 5 marketable skills, related to your area of study and give at least one
example of how you have put each of them practice.

Marketable skills enhance an individual’s resume and fascinates the employers in the
marketplace. It increases the chance of getting employed in any good firm in the marketplace.
The fact is undeniable that, with evolving labour trends, marketable skills are also evolving,
so one has to keep up with the changes and evolve accordingly.

To ensure success and growth in this era, one has to develop and uphold marketing skills
pertaining to his/her career. Here are my five marketable skills:

a) Follow Through:

It includes going through in detail in plans and made decision whether to make changes or
not. It includes handling multiple tasks at a time, along with working under pressure. I have a
calm mind; I don’t like to mess up things and this is the reason I can work well under
pressure without messing up things.

I am very punctual and always like to submit my projects and assignments on time in college,
this enhances my time managing ability along with planning the schedule efficiently.

b) Research skills:

I like to stay updated with the technologies and identify appropriate resources for
information. Surveying, organising and analyzing information help to grow business with
strong foundations.

These are the skills I have and with my studies I need to make strong so I don’t fail and
manage the system efficiently.

c) Interpersonal Skills:

It includes listening and understanding others efficiently. Along with analyzing, I also like to
listen to people, like to know what is going on their mind, listen to their ideas and then
improve them with my creativity. I always try to improve my public speaking, I have tried
several online courses that enhances your public speaking skills, it has somehow enhanced
my confidence for public speaking. I can now easily address a large group of crowds.

d) Project Management:

I am confident about my planning and project management skills. Even from my high school
time I was always appointed as a program coordinator, to coordinate with students from
different sections and ensure that all programs are being held competently. According to my
understanding strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and logical thinking skills are
some of the prime aspects of project management, and I possess all those skills.

e) Leadership Management:

In short, I can define leadership management as getting your team or people to believe in you
and your vision. During my high-schooling I was always selected as a leader for all activities
and events; my teachers said that I was born a leader, perceiving my leading and management
abilities. During my high-school time I have made many crucial decisions, and the decision to
select a business course for higher education was also a crucial decision.

It encompasses organizing others to achieve goals and make robust plans that will not let the
team or people around you fail. It includes a lot of problem-solving decisions which one has
to take keeping all the points in mind.

5. What is your biggest career aspiration (now or for future)?

A career aspiration refers to a long-term career goal or dream that will lead us to a successful
future. An aspiration is a “hope” or an “ambition.” A goal, on the other hand, is more specific
– it is a “desired result.”

I am studying the various business concepts like finance, marketing, and management. These
subjects would help me enhance my business skills, and it would also ensure a professional
growth that would help me excel in my career. The scope for business is never-ending;
therefore, with the help of this course I will get myself into a well-esteemed Canadian
company and gain a relevant experience in my area

I see myself as a successful businessman in future, following the steps of my father. I wish to
create a strong impact on the industry I am working, also I want to help people socially and
economically. Social upliftment is also one of the prime goals. I do not only aim for personal
growth, but social growth as well.
