DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ARTS II

I. Objectives:
A. Content Standards:
demonstrates understanding on lines, shapes, and colors as elements of art, and
variety, proportion and contrast as principles of art through
drawing
B. Performance Standards:
creates a composition/design by translating one’s imagination or ideas that others
can see and appreciates.
C. Learning Competency:
draws a portrait of two or more persons - his friends, his family, showing the
differences in the shape of their facial features (shape of eyes, nose, lips, head,
and texture of the hair.

C. Materials: Pictures, PowerPoint presentation, real object, art materials

Class our lesson for today is all about Portrait and
Action Drawing. First let’s define what is drawing.
Drawing – is the art of making images on a surfaces
like paper, by using a pencil, pen, or crayon.
(Present pictures and real object)
So what is Portrait Drawing?
Portrait drawing – is an artist representation that
shows the likeness of a face of a person.
(Present pictures)

Class remember that “God created man with


uniqueness. Nobody is exactly the same or look
perfectly alike. Your unique features can be shown
in an artwork such as portrait drawing.
Class what is your unique features? Anyone? Madam I have curly hair,
Madam I have brown eyes.
Madam I have straight and long hair
Madam my eyes is short.
Madam my eyebrows is thick.
Very good class let us clap our hands!.
Everyone of us are have different features right? So
let us give important of every one uniqueness. We
are all beautiful because God created us.

Action drawing – is drawing or sketching the action


using stick figures. The principle of proportion lines
and shapes make up a stick figure.

There is an art in the movement of the human body.
Your body can create various movements. These
creative movements can be captured through action
drawing. Creative movements can be done if you
take care of your body. You need to keep it strong
and healthy .
My question is:
What are the ways in taking care of your body? Do exercise, eat nutritious food.

Why do you need to take care of it? So that to become healthy and strong.

A group or family portrait – is done when you
make a drawing of two or more persons or objects.

Proportion of the body – means making sure that


the drawing of a body is near the natural size as
compared with other parts.

The Different Lines used in Portrait: Vertical lines,


Horizontal lines, Diagonal lines

There are lines that


move up and down.
These are vertical lines.

There are lines that move


from left to right. These
are horizontal lines.

There are lines that


slant. These are
diagonal lines.
There are lines that have different directions, express
flowing movement, show style and gracefulness.
These are curved lines.

What are shapes?


Geometric shapes – refers to circles, rectangles,
square, and triangle etc.

What are different natural shapes?

Those forms that have natural shapes are also


considered as organic shapes. Examples: shapes of
plants, fruits, animals and clouds.

E. Generalization
What is Portrait drawing? Portrait Drawing is an artist representation that
shows the likeness of a face of a person.

What is an action drawing? Action Drawing is drawing or sketch the action using
stick figures. The principle of proportion, lines and
shapes make up a stick figure. You can make the stick
figure run, jump or sit.
What is a group or family portrait? Family drawing/ family portrait is done when you make a
drawing of two or more persons or objects.

What is proportion of the body? Proportion of the Body means making sure that the
drawing of a body is near the natural size as
compared with other parts.

What are the different lines used in portrait and – Vertical lines
action drawing? – Horizontal lines
– Diagonal lines

What is geometric shapes? Geometric shapes refers to circles, rectangles,


square, and triangle.

F. Application
Let's Draw!
We will have an activity. Find your partner.
Remember the face of your partner and observe the
unique facial features that has of your partner. Fold
your Oslo paper into half horizontally then unfold it.
Draw your partner's facial feature and in the other half
of your paper draw your own facial features. I will
give you only 10 minutes to draw.
(Teacher show example of folding the Oslo paper)

IV. Evaluation
Do you have your art materials beside you class? Now, I want you to Create your own
action drawing, you can use different kinds of lines, colors and shapes. Make it creative
and I'll give you 10 minutes to do it.

Draw a group or family portrait using pencil. Do it in a clear bond paper.
