The objectives which Pakistan want to achieve through its foreign policy are:

1. To fulfill its responsibilities as a responsible member of the international community.

2. To protect Pakistan’s economic interests abroad.

3. To prevent and respond to threats and capitalize on opportunities.

4. To promote stability, peace, and friendly relations with neighbor Afghanistan.

5. To find the solution of all disagreements with India including the main issue of Kashmir. Raising the
issue of Kashmir on international forums.

6. To forge cordial and friendly relations with all neighbors, Muslim countries, and the larger
international community.

7. The primary objective of Pakistan’s foreign policy is to safeguard the national security, territorial
integrity, and political sovereignty of the country.

8. To project the image of Pakistan as a progressive, modern, and democratic Islamic country.

9. The foreign policy of Pakistan seeks to promote the internationally recognized norms of interstate
relations, i.e. respect for supremacy and territorial integrity of all States, also the non-interference in the
internal affairs of other States; non-aggression, and peaceful settlement of disagreements. Pakistan has
hence always sought to develop friendly and warm relations with all countries of the world.

Determinants of Pakistan's Foreign Policy:

1. The foreign policy should ensure the country’s security.

2. The foreign policy should be made as such so that a country should rise as the leader and an example
for other countries to rise.

3. The foreign policy of a country should be in the verification of the basic believes & ideology of the
country. For the moment, the foreign policy of Pakistan can’t be drawn against the basic principles of
Islam, the Quran, and Sunnah.

4. The foreign policy should be set in a manner so that it could guarantee the economic and political
supremacy.

5. No foreign policy should be planned in opposition to the country’s interests.

6. The interests of the masses of the country should be kept in view at the instance of making foreign
policy.

7. Diplomacy is the key factor in foreign policy.
