The following report presents the performance of Seed Heritage after six months following their
expansion in India. Being one of the biggest textile players globally, Indian fabric is popular for
its quality and unique designs and thus local competition is always a tough challenge for any
external competitor. Based on the performance analysis, we have analyzed a few major issues
which will be addressed in this report along with suitable recommendations to overcome them.

The new incentive policy introduced by the government comes as an advantage to the local
players while Seed heritage faces a difficult task to overcome since now it is considering
lowering their prices thus anticipating a drop in their revenue. Since company’s survival in initial
years is down to its profitability, the company has to look into ways of reducing its cost so that
despite a price reduction, the company is able to survive. Cost reduction can be done via
outsourcing labour task in Indian market since they offer lower wages expense.

Collaboration with any external organization to handle logistics in such a large market with
informal logistics and greater presence of middlemen is a risky task. Therefore, it is suggested
that a local logistics firm is deployed to have lower costs, better understanding of local logistics
procedures and efficient transport network.

Falling short of the sales target can be due to multiple reason. Ineffective marketing strategy,
improper execution of strategy, problems with the sales team or the distributors can be among
possible reasons for this issue. A feasibility report shall be prepared to evaluate strategic
objectives and KPI’s for each aspect to identify the cause of concern and make necessary
changes.

Increase in brand awareness is a sign of effective marketing strategy. However, this only shows
that our marketing approach is effective however there might be something lacking on the sales
and distribution side. Thus, the feasibility analysis will also include assessment of all three
dimensions equally and leave no stone unturned. Incentive policy for local players will mean
increased production and market presence for them. Seed Heritage can overcome this by
lowering their prices. For this a suitable change in marketing objective would be to promote
lower price offers such as sales and discounts to attract more customers. Since this will be a
potential opportunity to exploit, the company should direct its advertising campaigns and
activities towards this aspect to portray a different picture to consumers. The sales and promotion
strategies will also be aligned with this objective and aggressive marketing approach will be
developed to capture market share more effectively.
