I. Overview

DTC-5024 is designed in order to control the temperature automatically which

is control by changing time and its related operations.
It is able to control the ideal temperature as its characteristic, because
various control coefficients can be set freely. besides, sequencer like relay
logic, PLC is constructed with time signal 12/24 and 4 remote inputs, then,
there can be automatic operation not only temperature control but also its
related operation such as water supplying, draining, alarming etc at the same
time.
It is easy to input the patterns of temperature and time signals, its input
data will be preserved eternally until new data is input.
You can input each 60 pattern, and select any one as it deems necessary.
Besides, there are another 40 related programs. Each related program can be
input each pattern program, the it operates orderly.
Its function is more efficient when the function is united among various
operations in its unit operation lines.

VII.Descriptions of control parameter
The prime purpose of the DTC-5024 is to realize the ideal set temperature
patterns. However, as the performance of every specific system and the
control devices, they can't perform their fully function. Therefore, the
DTC-5024 is designed to enable users to set the proper control parameters
easily.
The system is established th 13 control parameters and the users can be set
anytime by pressing the proper buttons, which are as follow.

1 : Alarm Ligh (AH)

2 : Alarm Low (AL)
3 : Time + Hold High (TH)
4 : Time + Hold High (TL)
5 : Proportional Zone (P)
6 : Integral Time (I)
7 : Differential Time (D)
8 : Control Cycle Time (CYC)
9 : Predicated Operation Time (POF)
10 : Auto_Drain Time (DR)
11 : Set temperature for output setting up1 (SE1)
12 : Set temperature for output setting up2 (SE2)
13 : Finishing output time (END)

1. Alarm High (AH)

In the operating mode, if the operating temperature would be over than
this value from the set temperature, the alarm lamp of its front panel
will be lit.
※Setting range : 0~50℃

2. Alarm Low (AL)

In the operating mode, if the operating temperature would be under this
value from the set temperature, the alarm lamp of its front panel will be
lit as the AH situations.
※Setting range : 0~50℃

3. Time_Hold high (TH)

In the operating mode, if the operating temperature would be over than
this value from the set temperature, the operating time will be stopped
automatically till the operating temperature goes down into the set
temperature.
※Setting range : 1~30℃

4. Time_Hold Low (TL)

If the operating temperature would be under this value from the set
temperature, the operating time will be stopped automatically till the
operating temperature goes up into the set temperature.
※Setting ramge : 1~30℃

5. Proportional Zone (P)

The P means the proportional zone of the PID controls. If the system would
be set zero for the proportional zone, the control mode goes into the
simple on-off control method.
Control Output

100%

Negative ←Proportional 0 Positive

Temp. Deviation Zone→ Temp. Deviation

<Figure 7-1>

As shown above, if the operating temperature would be got out of the

proportional zone, the control output will be increased to maximum(100%),
and if it is inside zone, the control output will be supplied in the
proportion to the deviation(%). Thus, a narrower zone will activate to
small deviation with high sensitivity while a wider zone will activate
with ow sensitivity but excessive narrow zone will make the temperature
curve to the cycling or the over shooting effect.

6. Inegral Time(I)
This means the integral time of the PID controls.
※ Setting Range : 0~1,000sec
For example, the heated system would be radiation its temperature to the
surround, the heating device will be supplied the heating sources
continuously for the purpose of the maintaining proper temperature. But,
it will be supplied of the heating sources in accordance with the
proportion as shown Figure 7-1, the system can not meet to the set
temperature because the heating device should be limited the control when
the heating proportionally, it will be got the steady deviation between
the operating temperature and the set temperature. However, the integral
control is given the control output by using the integral deviation. The
integral time is the same value as the accumulated deviation goes to the
steady deviation. Therefore, this value should be considered adequately as
the case of the proportional zone.

7. Differential Time (D)

This means the differential time of PID controls.
※ Setting range : 0~1,000sec
This control is necessary to improve the control method with the
proportion and the integration as mentioned above.

8. Control Cycle Time (CYC)

This is control cycle time, and it means the time interval for every
control signal output.
※ Setting range : 1~30sec

← Control Cycle → ← Control Cycle → ← Control Cycle →

100% 50% 25%

<Figure 7-2>Time proportional control output

As shown in Figure 7-2, the control output increased in every control

cycle, but the on-time of it is proportioned by mean of the calculated PID
values. If calculated PID value is 100%, the control output will be on all
the time during a control cycle time and the 50% value will be on only half
time in a control cycle time.
Theoretically the less control cycle is more efficient, but if it is too
frequent, it may be worn down the control device sooner. The control cycle
time of 10 to 20 second is recommended. If using the semiconductor device
such as the SSR or SCR converter can be set the control cycle time 1-5
seconds.

9. Predicated Operation Time (POF)

Generally, when the heat source is applied to the system, the system can
not response rapidly and/or the system is taken off from heat source, the
temperature in the system can not be back instantly.
However, in case of the set pattern which is increasing to some
temperature and then maintaining nit, even the heat source take it off at
the maintaining point, still the increasing temperature will be going up.
Therefore, it is necessary to take off the heating source from the system
in advance, before the operation time arrives at the step point in order
to prevent the raising temperature. It is recommended that the POF time
should be determined as show in Figure 7-3.
※ Setting range : 1~300sec

<Short> <Adequate> <Large>

<Figure 7-3>

10.Auto Drain Time (DR)

The output time of drain.
Input scope : 0~30 second.
※ Setting Range : 0~30sec
Drain output may increase in the beginning operation or temperature
turning point to drain the condensed water in the steam line. At that
time, display indicates the time that is the drain time.

11.Set Temperature for Output Setting Up 1 (SE1)

The function that produces a certain T/S output such as (TS11, 12), (TS23,
24) under the set temperature.
e.g.) High press dying device. Refer to the output of set temperature.

12.Set Temperature for Output Setting Up 2 (SE2)

The function that produces a certain T/S output such as (T/S11, 12),
(T/S23, 24) under the set temperature.
Notes) Refer to the output of set temperature.

13.Finishing Output Time

The time that the output comes up.
※Setting range : 0~244sec.
When you set the 0, the output cones up continuously.
Procedure of the PID setting
The following procedure is recommended to trial operation when the system
operates after its installations.

1. In order to maintain a set temperature at temperature of option (from

actual process most the temperature which is important), it inputs.
2. Set the control parameter to I=0 D=0, and just operate system with only P
parameter.
3. Observe you strip chart recorder and change the P parameter from the large
value to the small value every moment during the operation. The some
oscillation will be start to occur to on the strip chart as shown in
Figure 7-4.
Calculate and set proper PID parameter by mean of the Table 7-1 equation.

IX. Processing and pausing the operation

1. When the temperature and the time signal output pattern have been
inputted, the pattern is ready to operate.

The Pattern will be processed as follow.

(1) When the pattern will start at the initial point(Time = 0).

․ Select the ․

SEL pattern number PRO

(2) Start from any section of temperature pattern.

Select any section

․ Select the ․

pattern number time input

After selecting the pattern number it will process with the front
display.

․ ․

(4) PAUSE makes the operation stop and PRO makes the operation run again.
Therefore, if you want to continue the pausing operation by the pausing
key, you only press the process key.

2. If you want to pause the operation, you only press the pause key.
In this case all of power will turn off.

․ ․ ․

3. In the pause, PRO is pressed, the operation will go on, PRG or SEL

is pressed, the operation will return to the default value.

4. When the temperature pattern reaches to the goal, the end lamp and end
output will turn on. In this case, all of power will turn off.

X. Related program

One of the processing pattern is limited 16 temperature steps and 8 time

signal out of each T/S number with 999 minutes (166 house and 39 minutes) of
maximum processing time. If the processing will be required more temperature
steps with the time signal outputs or the longer.
processing time, the coupling function is provided for such requirements at
the pattern number from 60 to 99.
When all of operation is consisted of normal operations united, you can use
the program with the united program. Normal pattern such as temperature
output and time signal output can be inputted 0~59 and we call it normal
pattern.
Also each coupling pattern is capable of coupling 16 patterns from the
pattern number 0 to 59. For example, the pattern number 20, 40, 14 and 32 are
selected connect, program as the follow.

․ Select the

XI. Time passing function
In care of some processing, just processing time will be needed without any
control.
If the temperature pattern will be set zero as follow, the processing time
is just passed without the temperature controls(heating, cooling, alarm and
time hold) in the section 'a' and section 'b'.
