2. R.A 6425 - Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 3. DRUGS - chemically active substance rendering a specific effect on the central nervous system of man. 4. DANGEROUS DRUGS BOARD - formulation of policies and programs on drug prevention and control. 5. DRUG ABUSE - Deliberate use of medically useful drugs 6. DRUG DEPENDENCE - Also called Drug Addiction 7. ADDICTION - Severe craving for the drug 8. DRUG DOSAGE - dose of a drug is the amount taken at one time 9. MINIMAL DOSE - the smallest amount of drug that will produce a therapeutic effect. 10. MAXIMAL DOSE - The largest amount of a drug that will produce a desired therapeutic effect 11. TOXIC DOSE - amount of drug that produces untoward effect or symptoms of poisoning. 12. LETHAL DOSE - amount of drug that will cause death. 13. TOXICOLOGY - commonly known as the science of poisons 14. ANALGESICS - drugs that relieves pain 15. ANTIPYRETICS - those that can lower body temperature or fever 16. ORAL INGESTION - one of the most common ways taking a drug 17. INHALATION - the second most commonly used route of drug administration. 18. SNORTING - inhalation through the nose of drugs in gaseous form 19. DRUG TRAFFICKING - refers to the sale and distribution of illegal drugs 20. STIMULANTS - drugs which induce alertness and wakefulness “also called as uppers.” 21. HALLUCINOGEN - Natural or synthetic psychoactive drugs that produce reactions such as perceptual alternations and changes in the state of consciousness 22. DEPRESSANT - drugs which act on and depress the central nervous system “also called as downers.” 23. METHAMPHETAMINE - considered as the most abused stimulants in the Philippines 24. CANNABIS SATIVA - the world’s oldest cultivated plant started by the Incas of Peru “also known as Sacred Tree.” 25. OPERATION PRIVATE EYE - a citizen based information collection project of (former) DEP Center and now the PDEA will continue what is has started. 26. VICE - Any immoral conduct or habit 27. PROSTITUTION - act or practice of a woman who engage or habitually in sexual intercourse for money or profit. 28. PROSTITUTE - woman who engage in discriminate sexual intercourse 29. WHORES - is a name often used for all types of prostitute 30. GAMBLING - wagering of money or something of material value on an event 31. PAGCOR - (Philippine Amusement and Gambling Corporation) office that controls/regulates gambling games.
