This is a career-defining opportunity at the heart of a department that promotes practice-based learning and interdisciplinary work with excellent facilities. In the
area of Engineering Design, CAD/CAM and Manufacturing, you will work with a talented team to deliver the vibrant, real-world education your students deserve.
For the Senior Lecturer position, you will also manage degree programmes, plan, deliver and assess a range of modules using a variety of technologies and
approaches.

Research is, naturally, a key part of our make-up; you’ll undertake your own research challenges, supervise PhD students, and develop proposals to producing
outputs ripe for publication. You’ll share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy, pursuing opportunities that will generate profitable income and
supporting students with valuable placements wherever possible.

The Person

You will hold a PhD (or equivalent professional qualification) in Mechanical Engineering and bring with you a recognised teaching/learning qualification. If you
haven’t already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we’ll need you to do so before the end of your probation period.

On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be your core motivation. You will use your
experience of working in engineering design, CAD/CAM and manufacturing to promote integrated professional practice across everything you do, imparting
practical engineering design knowledge to students that they will take with them in their future careers.
