2 INSTALLATION

2.1 Transportation protection devices

Beneath the handle is a red plastic part on the side strip. This must be
removed prior to installation.
2.2 Installation

Attach the appliance to the front timber with the enclosed wood screw.
On the handle side, directly under the fascia.

2.3 Initial start-up
EB 90./94./96./98.-111/-611/02
After a new connection or a power failure longer than 2 h, the
appliance checks the door lock. The symbol (door lock) flashes on
the display.
Please do not open the oven door and wait until the door lock symbol
goes out!
Then h/min 08:00 flash on the display. The current time can now be
set by pressing the + / – buttons. Acknowledge by pressing the “S”
button.

2.4 Demonstration circuit

On the appliance the violet cable is disconnected from the terminal.

The cable features an insulating sleeve and can therefore be left
where it is.
The power supply to the heating elements is interrupted. Light, EB 90./ 94./98.-211
display, clock timer and fan still function.

4.2 Catalyser

The 150 W catalyser is situated up on the ceiling of the baking muffle IMPORTANT
for (optimised air purification).
As the grease vapours require adequate oxygen for complete
incineration, air is drawn in by the cooling fan. Heat the cat. honeycomb for approx. 1 hour to eliminate any new
odours.
After an adequately long heating-up time, the smoke rises to the
upperside of the baking muffle, penetrates the grille and is heated on
contact with the heating element. The catalyser accelerates
incineration. From 350 °C the heated ceramic honeycomb results in
an optimum reaction which converts the smoke into an almost
odourless and colourless mixture. The cooling fan blows this mixture
through the ventilation grille under the door.
When the appliance has been switched OFF, the catalyser continues
heating for approx. another 45 min. The K 14 relay is re-actuated over
this time.

NOTE
Catalyser from FD 8207 Catalyser up to FD 8206

Despite the electrically heated catalyser, there are still occasional

complaints about odours.
Predominantly these complaints affect appliances up to FD 8206
When servicing the appliance, replace this catalyser with the new,
more powerful catalyser (fig. on left). On account of the larger
geometrical surface of the new cat. honeycomb, it was possible to
further improve the air purification. Spare-part no. 489346
As the cat. heater and housing have not been changed, it is adequate
to replace just the cat. honeycomb.

the motor moves to the end position. Therefore, before selecting the 300 °C cleaning aid, manually clean
the floor, ceiling, door and pane prior to catalysis. The grease filter as
well as the accessories must be taken out of the cooking
compartment.
If areas have burnt-in dirt, it is difficult to clean these. In this case only
a standard oven cleaner (e.g. K2R) will help, however the cleaner
must not come into contact with the anodised parts. Cleaner must be
wiped off immediately to prevent discoloration.

Rotate the selector and temperature switch one setting to the left. Set
cleaning time via Plus/Minus button. (Setting range 1–3 hours in

3 hours. Acknowledge with “S” button.

7.4 Furniture damage

7.6 Baking sheets jamming
Veneers or plastic coatings on installed furniture must be processed
with heat-resistant adhesive. If the requirements are not met, the 7.6.1 Catalysis appliances
veneer will become detached.
The oven conforms to the currently valid European standard When inserting the catalytic side plates, ensure that the guide grilles

is permitted. This means that at a room temperature of 20 °C to 25 °C
the furniture may have a temperature of 85 °C to 90 °C.

7.5 Appliance is heating although OFF

Cause of fault:
Up to FD 7712 the bottom heat heating element could slip backwards
and touch the rear panel of the appliance with the N-connection.
When the appliance has been switched OFF, the catalyser continues
heating for approx. 45 min. The K 14 relay is still actuated over this
time and supplies the BH with voltage due to the resulting earth fault.
An installed residual-current-operated circuit-breaker would trip.
Fault description:
Does not apply to US or CH versions.
