1. Please observe the dismissal times. Early pickup is for appointments or emergencies only.
2. Changes in ridership should be in a note (with a contact number) turned in to the front office by 10:00am.
3. Any changes to bus or car ridership by phone should be emergency basis only & must be done before
2:00pm.

**STUDENT LUNCHES - - - Students may bring a lunch with them to school in the morning.
Lunches are not allowed to be brought in from outside sources (restaurant or fast food).
**”Smencils” Marked Down! Now only $1.00! To purchase, see Mrs. Barber or a 4th grade student during
breakfast or lunch. Only a few left!

**Elementary Spring Fling: The “Spring Fling” will be Fri, March 11, from 1:00-2:30 pm for grades
K-5. Tickets are 4/$1.00 or you can buy a hand stamp for $8, which includes unlimited games and one item from the
concession stand. Proceeds go to 4th grade’s St. Augustine trip.

** PROM SIGN-UP: Sign- up sheet is in Mrs. Karen Smith’s office. Sign up by April 1st. Non-student
participation forms for dates will be on the same clipboard as the sign-up sheets. Date of Prom is April 16.

**Vote on Seahawk Video!!! The College for Every Student video by Seniors Dalin Modican & D’Andre
Robinson has been selected as a finalist in the National CFES Video Contest! The video, a rap about going to
college, was written by FCS basketball Coach Manny Bloom & performed by Dalin & D’Andre. The finalists have
been posted on the CFES Facebook page. The video with the most “likes” will go on to the semi-finals. To vote:
1- Go to your Facebook & search for “College for every Student”
2- Click “Like” for the page (you can’t vote for video unless you “Like” the page first.
3- Scroll down the page to the 6th video titled “CFES Forever College Rmx Franklin County School 2011”.
4- “Like” the video.
5- Pass info on to all your Facebook Friends & tell them to do the same!!!

**FAMU’s Annual Spring Preview: Saturday, March 26, from 8:30am-2:00pm for juniors, seniors, & community
College transfers. Pre-register at www.famu.edu click on “Events”, then click on “Spring Preview”.
**Certified Nursing Assistant Program: Students interested in program need to apply NOW!!! April 29 is the
end date. They are interviewing applications starting now! You can get in touch with Pat Wagner, GFC Nursing
Secretary @ 227-9670 EXT. 5522. The earlier you apply the better.
**SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors, scholarships are coming in! Important Tips: 1) Encourage your parents to file their
Income Tax Return as soon as possible (Pell grant & some scholarships require a copy). 2) Prepare- Essays, letter
of Reference, resumes.

**Coastal Art Tour - Carrabelle to Alligator Point: Saturday, March 12 - The Carrabelle Artists Association
will have numerous local artists exhibiting works & demonstrating watercolors, pastels, portraits, & pottery thrown on the

**New Website for “The Nest”: The Nest after-school program has launched a new website –
www.franklincountynest.org
The website will provide a glimpse at some of their offerings, along with news,
photos, & updates. Parents can download enrollment applications & Nest bus forms.
**DOE Social Media Access: The Florida Department of Education now has the resources to provide additional
channels for the department to receive feedback from & communicate with educators, students, parents, & all Floridians.

**GED CLASSES on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays (except holidays) from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the
Franklin County Learning Center (the old Brown Elementary).
The next GED Test will be given March 8 at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm.
