1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The MAP Landing Nipple offers an expanded versatility to downhole selection. Any desired number of Nipples
can be placed in the production string, thereby offering an unlimited number of positions for setting and locking
surface controls.
May be used in the following applications:
 Land blanking plugs to shut in well or to test the production tubing

 Land Velocity Type Safety Valves
 Land equalizing check valves
 Land circulating blanking plugs
 Land chokes to reduce surface flowing pressures
 Land instrument hangers with geophysical devices such as
pressure and temperature recorders
 All premium threads available
FEATURES / BENEFITS
Features of MX Landing Nipple (Selective):
 Any desired number can be placed in the production string.
 Versatility to reduce completion and production costs
 Nipple bore compatible with tubing size and weight to permit flow
capacity
 Designed for standard tubing weight
Features of MXN Landing Nipple (Non-Selective):

 Designed for use in single nipple installations or as the bottom
nipple when placed a series of type "MX" Landing Nipples.
 Can be used in the above applications as "MX", besides that, it
has restricted I.D. catches tools dropping during wireline work.
 Full-opening packing bore, with a locking recess at the top of the
Nipple and slightly restricted No-Go at the bottom to prevent
wireline tools from dropping out of the tubing string and being lost

Features of MR Landing Nipple( Non-Selective):

 Perform as a bottom NO-GO seating nipple which allows for
location of various flow control devices in the production string.
 Can be used in the above applications and has restricted I.D.
catches tools dropping out of the tubing and being lost.
 Honed internal sealing bore for maximum sealing capacities.
 Locking groove/NO-GO shoulder combination above seal bore.
Features of MF Landing Nipple (Selective):

 Perform as a top NO-GO or selective nipple which provides for the
location of various wireline flow control devices in the production
string.
 Be sure to carefully consider the location and number of the model
"MF" seating nipple to provide maximum versatility in the
positioning of the various flow control accessories.
 Accept selective or top NO-GO locks
 Honed internal sealing bore for maximum sealing capacities
 Locking groove/no-go shoulder combination above seal bore.

CAUTION:
MAP Oil Tools ships tools with connections made up HAND TIGHT. Tighten/Torque all connections properly
before operating tool.

Before starting work, ensure that all personal protection equipment is available and being used. Evaluate job
site to ensure that the work can be completed safely, all safety Procedures are to be observed.
Before using the tool, MAP recommends disassembly and inspection of tool. Clean parts and ensure that parts
are in good working condition. Replace worn or damaged parts with MAP replacement Part.

When redressing tools, MAP recommends replacement of all seals, elements, O-rings, shear screws, etc.
Contact MAP sales for redress kit and other replacement part information.
3. PRECAUTIONS AND HANDLING:
 Do not lift tool at the Spring, Slip/Slip Cage, or Packing Element locations.
 When running this tool with packer, make sure that J-slots in the plug, running and retrieving tool, and the
packer are all compatible.
 Most of the component parts are manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel. Therefore, extended exposure
to corrosives can be detrimental to the metallurgy. Care in cleaning the tool soon after removal from the
well can help extend the life of component parts. The visual inspection of the parts is necessary after
removal, to identify any parts which require replacement.
 Lubricate O-rings and O-ring grooves and all mating threads before assembly.

7. STORAGE RECOMMENDATION:
Optimally, equipment should be stored indoors in a climate-controlled facility. The minimum
recommendation is that equipment be stored in a covered storage facility for any extended period
depending on storage conditions and self-life of elastomer. At locations where these recommendations
are not practical, equipment stored outdoors should be kept from contacting the ground and further
packaging/protection recommendations should be store the equipment in a cool, dry place, out of the
direct sunlight., Wrap the Packing element with bubble wrap or cardboard and tape in place to protect
from damage.
