Interpersonal Communication Skills

Interpersonal communication skills has been classified as an art that is always gained

through education or just learning. And thus in the same spirit, it’s prone to improvement every

time it’s well applied. The skill has become very important and necessary in the ever day life

operations due to its simplistic manner that it allows one t project or express what they do feel or

even want to do (Trickey, Newcomb, Porrey, Wright, Bayless, Piscitani, & Dort, 2016). It was

perfectly in an event where the communication has to be very simple and fluent. This essay

purposes to explore on the three communication skills which include the verbal skills, non-verbal

together with the written skills. This is to be elaborated from a sort video clip-on interpersonal

communication skills which is name “ways to improve interpersonal ay” [ CITATION Top13 \l

1033 ].

The video on the interpersonal skills does contains numerous characters who are being

used to demonstrate the skills which include the verbal, on-verbal and the written skills

(Karnieli-Miller, Michael, Segal, & Steinberger, 2018). They get caught in different situations

doing varied activities and the mode or manner in which they behave towards one another is

what is basically used to demonstrate the skills.

From the video, the first skill which is verbal communication is well demonstrated when

one of the employee who is a new employee in the video approaches a colleague to enquire

about some direction. The colleague s very clear, very friendly at first, does speak with a lot of

confidence and the authenticity in what he says, he does not talk much and importantly his body

language is very impressive.

Non-verbal skills, comes in during the conversation with the eye contact being maintain

between the two employees as they talk (Crawford, McGrath, Christiansen, Roach, Salamonson,
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS 3

Wall, & Ramjan, 2020). their facial expression comes with very excited faces, they seem happy

talking to each other, they are seen standing a few distances away from one other this is to

provide for a personal space between them.

Then finally, after a few minutes of talking, the new worker asks for more elaboration.

This forces the other colleague to pull out a pen and a paper from his locker to write down some

information (Riley, & Simons, 2016). We can hear her saying that this is very clear and thorough

thank you. This is a demonstration of written communication skill.

In conclusion all the three communication skills have been demonstrated by the workers’

interactions in the video.in this essay, have just picked on one instance of the two workers

interacting to demonstrate the three skills
