The Other Woman by Virgilio Samonte
Virgilio Samonte is an award-winning Filipino writer who lives in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Samonte's other woman won third place in the Carlos Plug Memorial Merit Spot for Literary
Works for the English Language Section.

The Other Woman of Virgilio Samonte is known as a short story that defines a close
relationship between the spouse and a mistress. Samonte employed dialogue to help his reader
relate to the plot of the story since it existed. The other woman is known as a story that gives a
point of view on a subject. Samonte's idea for his other wife is exposed in a number of ways. On
the other hand, the main idea that is being pointed out could be: “Love in various forms is
usually no. In a formalism procedure, critics could state that the author indicates his subject in
three ways, using the characters and reducing it to one subject, extramarital affairs. In the story,
the 1st author reveals his subject. At one point, Nana Cecilia took proper care of her husband,
who may already be bedridden, including the fact that her husband cheated on her for many
years. Nana Cecilia showed her undying love to her husband when his wife is still napping with
him despite her husband being extremely sick and weak. Another way to discuss the subject of
the story is Tata Cora's husband and decides to leave. Although she did not ask about the man's
health, it was perfectly obvious that even now she would care if he went away frail and helpless.
Finally, endless love while you see what the subject is saying. in Loida.

Once upon a time she staged her relationship between herself and the couple. Loida's
affection lasts for a long time because although the husband was already weak, she is still right
there, watching and working as a servant. Samonte's character in "The Other Woman" was
perfectly sculpted to forge a strong foundation destined for her purpose. There are many
characters in the story, but only three characters have the characteristics of a protagonist.
Authorities have determined that the three key characters are Nana Cecilia, Nana Cora and
Loida.Nana Cecilia is described as the devoted wife of her dying husband and a strong-minded
wife. Although she was simply attacked by her spouse in two phases, she is still in love and
protected, and fights against the people they encounter in their marriage. Ceera Cecilia, who
continues to sleep with her spouse, neglecting the fact that she may have contracted the disease
from her partner. Nana Cora, however, is often referred to as a relative of Ni? Era Cecilia
described who has turned out to be the man's lover. However, Nana Cora gave up her husband's
relationship with Nana Cecilia as this is definitely the right thing to do and she decided to leave.
In comparison, Loida is often described as a sexy, seductive dresser. Loida is considered one of
many characters as she became another lover of the spouse when the girl ends up proclaiming
her entire love story.

The Other Woman of Samonte represents a man or a man in conflict to show his
importance. Since the account speaks of the relationship and an additional relationship to a
denominator who is his spouse, it is difficult for the powers that be to act between the woman
and the lovers. Within a formalistic approach, experts deal with the complex idea of McDougal,
why this individual creates a man against a human. The Knight of Conflict to Blame Readers on
the Subject of the Story You will find three other forces mentioned in the story, Ni? It was Cora
against Nana Cecilia against Loida. In the story, Nana Cecilia fought all of her spouse's lovers
just to break free from their dying relationship, which the author considers legitimate because the
author may think that Nana Cecilia is definitely the legal partner.

Virgilio Samonte's The Other Woman is a story heralding an extraordinary relationship,

with a formalistic approach that critics saw and found that another woman's story is a story that
shows endless pleasure even in the midst of infidelity. The author's idea that he wants to predict
is, "Love is endless in various ways." The author tends to imply that in the right or wrong person,
love can endure in the nearest truth. Aim with the use of their characters, Nana Cecilia, Nana
Cora and Loida. The characters have been portrayed much better to shape the author's goal. The
Other Girl story revealed a man and man problem where three opposing causes fight to win what
they think is yours. The other woman's story is known as a story that reminds us that love is not
just a simple thing. It could be another shape, but it's just endless in the moment you love
unconditionally.

It's about the two brothers who devote themselves to underwater fishing. Litoy is
unsympathetic and judgmental in his environment, but he is a good, loving and caring older
brother of Simo. Simo is a bombastic guy who tries to influence his older brother. Two brothers
left town and went to the black beach, they went unstoppable and it was run by Litoy, and they
just stopped to analyze the glasses because Simo's last arm was damaged when they reached the
groin, testing Litoy and confirms that it is usable. Simo is looking forward to a tip because it will
be his first clip on the dock. And he's holding a difficult clip to play a good song. The subject his
older brother was talking about is Kaltang. It was the youngest fabled fish in his town. Although
he already knows. As they walk to the dock, a doorman asks the older brother for a job and
approaches him indifferently and angry. In the old steamship. They meet Mang Orto and the older
brother lives up to him for holding debris and, in addition to Ninoy, the one who fixes them, he's
a lazy person. When they go fishing, Litoy really takes care of their little brother.
The Y got Maya-Maya and a massive black Lapu-Lapu and his older brother changed
into proud to Simo. And Litoy desires to journey area already however Simo he plunge
completely due to the fact he desires to have an effect on extra his older brother. He reduce
himself via way of means of the oyster shells. And his older brother is without a doubt disquieted
however he faux it’s Oklahoma and constantly angling like nil changed into happened. And over
again he changed into harm however this clip it’s extreme as it changed into an detonation. As
Litoy attempts to halt the hemorrhage. he resisted due to his pride. And on the terminal. as he
slowly misplaced his consciousness. his older brother searching for his first-rate to salvage him
and that's what his searching for to bring to the loader. Critical Analysis:

The narrative tells us don’t try to have an effect on individual and cognize your
restriction. That in life. jobs do arise while we push our ego excessively much. We see the
affection of the older brother and what kind of he care. It tells us to be a very good sibling. And
be pleasant human beings round you and be low all of the clip. We could be a very good
example. Were the more youthful brother. he ever comply with his older brother. He follows his
brother being proud to himself. We want to be actual to who we're for the higher and non as a
shadow of individual.

The narrative had awesome example of scenes and activities however the phrases used to
depict in which deep. And you may accumulate the leader idea of the narrative withinside the
terminal and leaves you a inquiry to what actually cross on and what may be the stoping.

The Spouse by Luis G. Dato

Luis G. Dato was born on July 4, 1906 at Baao, Camarines Sur. He become a Filipino
poet, writer, educator and flesh presser. He become one of the first Filipinos to put in writing and
post works in English. Among his poems are "The Spouse", "Day at the Farm" and "Among the
Hills." In 1927, his "Mi Ultimo Pensamiento" become the primary true English translation, in
rhymes, of Jose Rizals "Mi Ultimo Adios."

The poem ‘The Spouse” by Luis Dato was inspired by his personal life experiences,
especially matters related to the love of his life. He said his love inspired him to compose. For a
vivid description of Luis Data's style of writing poetry, let me quote this personal response from
our poet to questions that have been asked in the past, which I fortunately found in the source
that I will cite while searching for relatives Seek materials to aid my discussion of this poem,
"The Husband".

The ambiguity of the poem lies in the symbolism of the languages used by the author. It
takes a keen and critical mind to find an interpretation behind the hidden meanings of the text.
"Rose" and a fragrant fragrance that awakens the love of sleep are directly attributed to the
ability of women to seduce. No man with his normal biological makeup and needs would turn
down this woman's charm and invitation. The same spell used against man has a biblical basis
when Eve invited Adam to take the forbidden fruit. in the garden of eden. It was believed that
this was the origin of the "curse" of men and women. As quoted, "Both the man and the woman
in this poem suffer from the curse. The woman suffers because she is a prisoner and slave of the
desire and devotion she has for her husband, as described in the third stanza Likewise, in the
field, the husband himself suffers from the curse of not being able to enjoy so much passion and
devotion that his wife pours over him. He has to work and as much as he can, he has to.

The poem was written in English by Luis Dato. It speaks of the great passion for love, but
which is suppressed by some participants. Circumstances such as fulfilling or fulfilling the
responsibility inherent in the act of loving. In the Filipino context and from a feminist point of
view, the poem can speak of how men dominate women in various aspects, as suggested in the
third stanza: "She has no joys beyond the days of tomorrow. She finds no worlds beyond her gun
embrace." She looks at the FORM behind the furrow, who is her mind, her movement, time and
space. Here the woman is trapped in her love for the man. The man establishes himself as her
life, her strength, her only joy and everything. She is compelled to perform the act of love for her
man under all circumstances. Such a case deprives the woman of living outside the world of her
love. However, a second look at the piece will give us a different perspective, according to the
constructivist.

We need to look for possible exclusions, repressions and contradictions in the text that
will allow us to uncover hidden meanings, perhaps when the poem was written by Luis Dato
Filipino women had not yet freed themselves from male domination as popularized in history
books became, or perhaps women of the time were simply subservient to men who simply
endured pain and hardship even in matters of unrequited love. Sadness. Maybe the
constructivists were right. Filipino historians may have purposely overlooked or excluded some
facts about our culture. We read stories in books about how women played an important role in
the lives of Filipino men in the country's early history. I have heard wonderful and painful love
stories in the past depicting the power of women over men. Biblically, they taught us how Eve
used her strength to move Adam to sin.Historically, this writer has seen Filipino politicians being
ousted from power for listening to and following their wives. It is pointed out here that there is
no superior or inferior sex in love and that both men and women can suffer the pain of love.

Iloilo. He graduated High School in 1955 at Davao City High School In 1959, he graduated cum
laude in Ateneo de Davao University where he earned his BA English degree.

The Dog Eaters tells the story of the collapse of a couple's wedding in a context of
poverty. Mariana, the tortured companion of an ambitious man, explodes when her husband's
friends invite him for a drink. Mariana thinks that feeding dog meat is indecent and inhuman.
However, when she realizes that the people around her have no problem with it, her cup is full
and she desperately takes matters into her own hands. I promise to escape your wretched
realities. I have some problems with this short story. The source language is the language. It is
riddled with grammatical and typographical errors.

The version I'm looking for may have been carelessly written by someone else, but
diction errors can also be found. and parallels, things dyslexics don't do.I'm not a descriptive
linguistic Nazi, the type who would triumphantly point out this or that mistake, but can a writer
still be trusted if the work you've been given causes you to grab a red pencil? and hastily sent to a
commentary workshop.

The second is technology. I'm sure you got the saying "show, don't tell". Reading the
story feels a bit gossipy, and this led Maine to lose interest in what Mariana, the enlightened
protagonist, was going through. I prefer disappointment topics, especially this one because of its
transgressive twist, but this could have worked better if it had the structure. The reader may be
presented with a flashback scene that they want to summarize. However, Mariana and her
husband Victor are in poor shape.

Kermina P. Tuvera vividly describes the fact in her story that being a mom isn't always
just “a stroll withinside the park”. It includes a number of difficult work, persistence and
sacrifice. The tale additionally gives wealthy info of ways a mom survives the “crisis” in a day
by day basis. Nevertheless, the rewards are fantastic that you will overlook the rigors and
hardships experienced. The classes located withinside the tale aren't handiest implemented to
moms however additionally for fathers and youngsters too.

The tale opens with the mind of the mom having seven daughters. The opportunities are
endless. Seven daughters suggest seven dowries seven sons-in-law, seven spinsters, seven
bakeshops, seven splendor parlors, seven stores, seven designers or maybe seven models. But
with the wide variety of daughter she has, one can not keep away from however to have little
heartache or because the mom calls it “crises”. First is the wish to have a son. Second, being a
mom is likewise subjected to “a couple of stress of post-natal depression, monetary difficulties,
family chores, and beginning control.”

Motherhood has taught her hints while managing her daughters. Because of being strict
and disciplinarian, the primary phrase found out via way of means of her daughters is “quiet”.
The mom additionally found out that field makes her existence simpler due to the fact she desires
no phrases. A buddy of hers warned her approximately the trauma kids may later broaden with
such structure She can’t assist however note how this buddy of hers offers with motherhood.
This buddy is her whole opposite. She describes her as the suitable mom. And with this a lot
correctness this buddy ran away with every other guy leaving her toddlers behind. The mom
stated that there's no ethical in her buddy’s situation, however she suspects her buddy might have
stayed if she allowed herself the luxurious of mistakes.

Despite the heartaches or crises covered in being a mom, the mom realizes that it may
additionally be a totally profitable experience. She needs her ladies to be “skilled now no longer
accomplished”, capable of stand on their personal due to the fact they have “a expertise now no
longer won via way of means of phrases however via way of means of touch, sight, sound,
victories, failures, sleeplessness, devotion, love – the human reviews and feelings of this earth;
and perhaps; in order little religion and a bit reverence for the belongings you can not see.” She

"The Flowers of May" is about how life can become an ossuary, a great city in a dark
necropolis. This is a world class short story. There were no memories of the snow-covered field
in the minds of many Filipinos in 1951, but there are memories of the beautiful May flowers,
May in the churches of Manila and in the old city walls. The narrator thinks of his sister Victoria,
who died in May. The narrator speaks of the great depth of his father's grief, perhaps of his futile
attempt to console his father for the loss. He speaks of many dead in his family.

The story is very well established, but the concerns are universal. This is a beautiful and
heartbreaking story. It couldn't be worse. As a beloved son who perishes in youth. Faith offers
the convenience of an early entry into heaven and perhaps an eventual reunion, but this can be
cold or even mocking comfort.
