Estonia, Bulgaria, Serbia and The Netherlands

THE ORGANIZERS:

Benejúzar is a municipality of the


Valencian Community, located in the
Vega Baja region, in the province of
Alicante. It currently has a population
of around 6000 inhabitants.

Benejúzar has a long agricultural and gastronomic tradition. This makes it a very
powerful municipality in thriving sectors such as organic farming, local consumption
and quality gastronomy.

Benejúzar is an avant-garde municipality that stands out for its active policies to
promote its agriculture and landscape through employment. It constantly works with
the aim of modernizing itself in all economic and social initiatives to give a strong
boost to its local economy.

One of the priorities of the municipal government team is to improve the opportunities
for young people and put their natural resources at the reference of Europe and
promote green policies to face the European climate emergency situation.
SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT:

ECOLOCALYOUTH: Product of Proximity as A Way Of Employment and Sustainable


Development is an opportunity for young people to learn, through non-formal
education, how to take advantage of the natural and ecological products offered by
their territory and how to appropriately use new technologies to sell these products as
a form of new business and a job opportunity.

Furthermore, as participants will come from different countries across Europe,


diversity and multiculturalism will be promoted during the exchange, which will give
added value to the project.

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

- Develop the personal and professional growth of young volunteers in relation to


natural products and the promotion of self-employment.
- Improve business and professional skills and learn new strategies to promote
organic products through online sales.
- Promote alternative economic models to unsustainable overcrowded tourism models
for a post-COVID-19 era.
- Promotion of multiculturalism, knowledge of the EU countries and the ability to work
and share in an international European context.
- Promote entrepreneurship in innovative and classic sectors, responding to new
needs "post COVID-19".

WORKING METHODS:

* Different types of practical games (team-building activities, ice-braking, games to


know each other, simulation games, games for trust and so on) * Brainstorm *
Presentations * Role games * Group work *Reflection sessions * Discussions *
Visits to local companies and entrepreneurs
All the activities will be developed according to the principles of the non-formal
education.
PARTICIPANTS

ECOLOCALYOUTH will involve 6 participants (5 + 1 group leader) from each


country with the following profile:
- 18 – 30 years of age (no age limit for the group leader)
- Youth committed to the issues involved in this project: entrepreneurship,
fresh organic products and life in a rural municipality
- Adequate level of English language

ACCOMMODATION and TRANSPORTATION

Accommodation, meals and working materials are provided by the organisers.

The accommodation and the activities will be in “Paraje de la Pilarica” where the
participants will be able to enjoy the splendid nature of Benejúzar’s mountains.

The travel costs to the venue and back will be reimbursed up to the maximum of
the amount indicated by the distance calculator provided by the EC:

Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Estonia 360.00 EUR


The Netherlands 275.00 EUR

The travelling days are:


13th of June (Sunday) and 22nd of June (Tuesday).

Travel costs are refundable for participants who attend all the sessions, commit
themselves fully to the activities of the project. Travel expenses will be covered
after collecting travel documents on condition that the participants use the
cheapest ways of transportation and submitted original invoices for plane tickets,
boarding passes, train and bus tickets. Private cars, Taxi and first class tickets will
not be reimbursed.

An important detail is that you should buy your tickets after our confirmation.
Otherwise, your tickets could be considered not reimbursable. We engage ourselves
to reimburse only tickets which were confirmed by our team.

In order to make sure that all participants book the cheapest option available for
their travel, we offer our full support helping them with their bookings and bus/train
connections.

Please keep also ALL other travelling documents you have. Don’t throw
anything! 
Reimbursement will be done in EURO, regardless of the currency indicated on your
ticket and receipt/invoice. Please note if you bought your ticket in your local
currency which might be different than EUR, we will calculate your travel costs
according to the exchange rates from official European Commission web-site, on
the day of the purchase

EXTRA-DAYS: following the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme the travel


must be realised by the participants within a maximum of 4 days from the project’s
dates (arrival max 2 days before the project and departure max 2 days after the
project). During the extra-days the participants should cover all of their expenses
such as accommodation, food, etc.

HOW TO REACH BENEJÚZAR?

There will be an organized transport


from Alicante or from the airport
Alicante-Elche (ALC).

From the centre of Alicante to


Benejúzar is around 60 km. You can
take also a public bus from the bus
station, but you should check carefully
the possible options, especially during
the weekends. One of the companies
is Bus Siguenza, S.L.

Other possible options to reach Spain can be the airports of Murcia, Valencia or
Madrid.
HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSSURANCE

All the participants coming from the cover private health care, non-
EU should bring their European Health emergency health costs, or being
Card. They can use the free European flown back to your home country.
Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to allow
you access to public hospital
treatment.

Please be aware that the EHIC is NOT


a travel insurance policy, it will not

We highly recommend you to make a health & travel insurance for the full duration
of your time in Spain.

If you have any allergies or you need to take regular medications, please arrange
these things by yourself as we are unable to provide them for you.

Likewise, if you have any health conditions, disabilities or mobility issues that you
feel we need to be aware of or that may affect your participation in the youth
exchanges activities, then please let us know what they are and how best to assist
you.

MANDATORY SECURITY MEASURES COVID19

We take all the measures very


seriously and we will adjust our
programme to the existing legal
restrictions and expert’s
recommendations.
You should have in mind that the
situation is very dynamic, but for the
moment, please take into
consideration the following
information:

- The use of protective mask in Spain is mandatory in all the public spaces,
including during outdoor activities. Please bring your own protective masks for all
the days of the project.
- We will have disinfecting Hydroalcoholic gel on our disposal during the activities,
but you should bring your own sanitizer for your personal use.
- We will make daily controls of the temperature of all the participants.

- You should respect the rules and the security protocols to follow, especially when
having access to the dining room and common rooms.
Please remember that you will need to take a PCR TEST (covered by
participants) before entering Spain and to carry with you a certificate
IN ENGLISH.
If you do not have all this you will not be allowed to come to the YE and
you might get a fine up to 6.000€ if Spanish police stops you at the airport.

In case you don’t reach the limit with your traveling, the leftover money can be
used to pay the PCR test necessary to enter in Spain. We will also need a
ticket/proof of payment and a copy of the certificate with your result.

in case we are forced to cancel or postpone the activity
due to new measures or lockdowns.

CULTURAL NIGHT

Don’t forget to bring some traditional


music for the intercultural evenings.
We will have one cultural night per
country where you can expose your
customs, traditional dances and
culture.
All the teams must prepare some
presentation of your country in a
creative way (try to avoid PowerPoint
and touristic videos. You will be able
to share them on Facebook!  Be
creative!
Also it will be really nice if you can
bring your national flag and some
small souvenirs with you
(Costs are not covered).
