The Importance of the Guide Shoe


The performance and quality of the
guide shoes and the rails they run on
influence ride comfort more than any
other component in an elevator system.
The R300 guide shoe has been
designed to deliver the smoothest
possible ride in the new generation of
high speed elevators.
Features and Benefits
Large diameter 12” (300mm) rollers
have a long footprint on the rail which
spreads loads and gives a smooth
compliant ride over rail joints.
The rollers’ large diameter reduces
rotational speed and dynamic load. This
results in a low rate of wear and mini-
mized cyclic excitation.
Polyurethane tires absorb rolling noise
and smooth out small irregularities in
the guide rails.
Independently adjustable springing
and damping on all rollers allow guide
shoe setup to be optimized for each
specific installation.
Robust aluminum construction gives
maximum strength and performance
for minimum installed weight.
Speed capability extends up to
2,000fpm (10m/s).
R300 is also suitable for modernization
of many installations, and can deliver a R300 dimensions.
