I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson at least 75% of the Grade 2 pupils are expected to:

a. describe the different body shapes and actions;

b. move the body properly in response to sounds and music;

c. engage in fun and enjoyable physical activities interconnected to body shapes and
actions.

III. Procedure

a. Introductory Activity

The teacher let the pupil to perform warm-up exercises (hand waves, waist shaking,
body turning and stretching). Have the pupils sing an ABC's song with action (A, we all
form our body into letter A, B we all form our body into letter B, C we all form into letter
C, curving our body to form letter C while we're still singing the ABC's continuously. D, E,
F, G still performing the shapes of the letters, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P we all singing softly
and gently while still doing and performing the letters, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z,
everyone will claps as a sign of succession of performing ABC's song with action. Then
have them play "Mannequin game of freezing game" take a look on them clearly how
they really freeze in the game by not moving themselves as they maintain their postures
either standing or sitting. Ask them if they really enjoyed the game.
b. Activity

The teacher demonstrates the different body shapes and actions in front of the pupils.
Let the pupils follow the movement demonstrated by the teacher.

c. Analysis

The teacher ask the pupils. How did you find the activity? (Fun and Enjoyable). What did
you feel when you executed the different body shapes and actions? (Happy). Did you
feel the movements of your body in doing different body shapes? (Yes).

d. Abstraction

1. Name the different body shapes shown in the picture?


How do we execute these body shapes?

 In straight body shape-stand up straight while the other parts of your body is
steady.
 Wide body shape- stand with your feet. Spread wide and raise your arm upward in
the side direction.
 Curled body shape - stand up straight, bow down and hold your toes.
 Twisted body shape - this happens when your upper body is twisted in right or left
while your body is fixed.

e. Application

The teacher will ask the class to stand up and execute the different body shapes and
actions presented.

f. Assessment

The teacher will be assessing the students individually. Each of them will be performing
the different body shapes and actions.

Procedure: Divide the class into two teams. The Teacher will show to them printed
pictures illustrating the different body shapes.Teacher then first illustrate it .Then ask
volunteers from the first group to perform it in front of the class. While the other group
will judge. if the activity is performed correctly and with accuracy. If the first group were
unable to perform it then the reward will go to the second group. If the second group
were unable to judge if the illustration is correct or not (with the teachers validation)
then the reward will go to the first group.

IV. Remarks

In doing this activity "Create Body Shape and Action, we observed that the pupils has
done well in doing the activities. They are participative enough and so energetic. They
even know how to execute the different body shapes properly. This activity enable us
to enhace our pupils improvement and to determine their strengths and weaknesses.
But overall, the pupils are able to perfom the said activity well and already know the
different movements of the body that can be helpful for their daily living.

V. Reflection

The teacher understood the topic given. The pupils also learned from the teacher's
discussion about the topic, "Create Body Shape and Action." The teacher also learned
the pupil's way of learning especially how they participated and how they cooperated.
They noticed the pupil's capability and capacity of learning in the teaching and learning
session either their fast learners or slow learners in their young age that's related to the
body shapes and action. Both sides, teachers and pupils learned and constructed the
main topic during the class, they enjoyed and interacted very well in accordance to the
activities and task in relation to the topic. They managed to finish in the exact time with
satisfaction and full of interesting knowledge and learnings about the topic. Everything
is settled and from the first activities or mild activities to a bit challenging one. They're
doing well, being taught and being learned in the aspect of school culture.
