RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Aug 2019 – PRESENT Research Fellow

Smart City Initiative Project, XXXXXXXXXXXXX, University of XXXXXX, XXXXXX ,
Kingdom of Norway.
Currently working with a smart-city initiative XXXXXX project in “Enabling Future Communications for
Smarter Cities”. The research activity is focused on Next Generation Mobile Networks technology (5G
and beyond) that will enable the smart city of the future.
2
Feb 2017– Aug 2019 Graduate Research Assistant
Network Application Lab (NAL) Kookmin University, Seoul, Republic of Korea
Worked with various research groups (RG) in NAL. In Autonomous Vehicles RG, my focus was on
developing algorithms for enhancing the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles using remote
driving. In Software Defined Network (SDN) RG, my task was to develop algorithms for in-band
controlling using MPTCP in the data-centre network. Additionally, I collaborated with Streaming Media
RG on the efficient utilization of bandwidth using scalable video coding in SDN.

Research Projects 1. Xplore Droid AI: Worked on a project to train an autonomous driving Artificial Intelligence (AI)
agent for automotive applications on computer-based games. Image frames of a moving vehicle
are given as an input to the AI agent and it's trained using a convolution neural network. The
output of the AI agent is vehicle's acceleration, de-acceleration and movement in the left or right
direction.
2. AI - Credit Card Fraud Analysis: In a machine learning course during the master’s degree, I
worked on this project to identify fraudulent transition using a neural network.
3. GIS based Education to Population Mapping & Analysis: During bachelor’s degree, I
completed the work on creating a web-based geographic information system (GIS) from scratch,
having detailed information on educational institutes in Abbottabad district. The work was done in
collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
4. Small Chip: A 8-bit processor implemented over a self-designed virtual machine.
