EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Garden Scape is dedicated to provide quality vegetables for people’s
consumption and for garden supplies, as well as serving retailers who need a reliable
source of products. This will use semi-automatic greenhouse, which is the most popular
and suitable for small and medium scale farmers. With a convenient location, Garden
Scape intends to successfully provide market on residential customers as well as other
retailers. We would like to see a four to eight percent increase in our customer base
every year by providing a market strategy which includes providing knowledgeable staff,
affordable prices, a great location and top-notch customer service.
Garden Scape has been the dream of the owner Oscar Manlolo and has been a
project in the making for the last two years. Oscar manage all the aspects of operation
at Garden Scape, along with the overseeing of staff, ordering of merchandise, ordering
of garden supplies and seed stocks and especially the maintenance of the
greenhouses.
OBJECTIVES
1. Maintain an average gross margin at or above 40%.
2. Generate an average of 4000 pesos of sales each business day of each month.
3. Realize an annual growth rate of 8% in Year 2.

Mission

Garden Scape is dedicated to providing a wide variety of vegetables in an aesthetic


setting. Customer service is extremely important. We want each customer to have a
pleasant shopping experience, and it is the intention of our staff to answer questions
with expertise and to offer advice when we feel it is needed.

The primary keys to success for the business will be based on the following factors:

 Sell products of the highest quality with excellent customer service and support.
 Retain customers to generate repeat purchases and make referrals.
 Continue to expand daily sales by adding to the variety of plants we sell.

A. Description of the Business


Garden Scape is the dream of Oscar Manlolo and has been a project in the
making for two years, with an opening date of April of this year, Oscar is seeing
the dream of operating a semi-automatic greenhouse garden and organic
farming.

B. Products/Services
Garden Scape will offer a wide variety of vegetables such as lettuce, bitter gourd,
tomatoes, radishes, pechay, cabbage, string beans, and others. We will also
provide seedlings of these vegetables for sale and planted at home with the
quality. The garden products will be planted on a semi-automatic greenhouse
with automatic watering systems, humidity check and temperature check and
using organic farming, meaning it will not use chemicals.

C. Market Analysis
Garden Scape target market strategy is based on becoming an attractive choice
for local residents, retailers, and restaurants in around Odiongan. The target
markets we are going to pursue are the residential customers looking forward to
become an inspiration and set example for a productive and safe greenhouse
gardening. People will want to shop at our location because of the superior
customer services we will provide.

D. Marketing Plan
Healthy and safe vegetables including our top-notch customer service for our
individual customers, retailer and restaurants. These targeted customers will be
reached through our sales and marketing team by promoting the facts about our
garden and quality products.

Product Strategies
Products will be pre-ordered before harvesting in the garden to ensure the
freshness and quality of vegetables and packaging it with eco-friendly containers
such as biodegradable plastics, and reusable bags. Our products will now only
be focusing on vegetables because of limited land but open for future flower
gardening along with vegetables. We will try to claim and maintain the image of
freshness and healthy products using the semi-automatics greenhouse and
organic farming.

Pricing Strategies
Vegetable prices will be affordable and competitive for competitors for everyday
price, while having enough profit from the sales. Having less competition right
now will increase my sales and will establish a good supplier-customer
relationship by having an affordable price for the good of both parties. Our
vegetable products have less use of manpower for labor but mainly focus on
maintenance, harvesting, and checking of conditions of vegetables that will
lessen the price of our product.

Promotional Strategies
Our sales and promotion team will provide factual brochures of Garden Scape for
distribution, having a social media account for the new normal platform and direct
contact with individual customers and restaurants for vegetable supply.

E. Location
Garden Scape is located Purok Cadena de amor, Mayha, Odiongan, Romblon
near the highway for better farm to market distribution. The land to be used is a
rice field owned by Oscar Manlolo. There are modifications and renovations for
the location for safety purposes and better installation of semi-automatic
greenhouse garden. The property is a rice field surrounded by some residential
house and fields. The location is good because it is along the highway and
effective for accessibility of customers.

My competitors for this type of business will be similar local farmers.

Local farmers using traditional method of farming are present in the competition
but only few have stable vegetable products because they have other jobs. They
will be competitive but Garden Scape will inspire them to establish a more
competitive farming.

G. Management and Operations


The management of Garden Scape is supervised by the principal, Oscar
Manlolo, a licensed Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer who graduated in
Romblon State University. He is a trained person with a 5 year-experienced in
farming at Nueva Ecija in Navarrete’s Farm. The sales and marketing of Garden
Scape is headed by Nemie Galicia, a registered Elementary Teacher, graduated
also in Romblon State University, an experienced in retailing and other micro
businesses for 4 years. The maintenance and harvesting are also headed by the
principal to assure the quality of vegetable products.

H. Personnel
The personnel need now are helpers who are trained and experienced in
greenhouse gardening and has open-mind for learning organic farming. The
need of two helpers for the business is required on ensuring the quality of
vegetables and efficient harvesting of products. These needed people are all
related with the principal and chosen because of their interest and experienced.
