Question: To what degree is money a motivator for employees to perform better? What have we learned
about the relationship between pay raises and performance from experts?
The Motivational Process Identification of a need is the first step in the motivating process. For example,
a firm employee may desire a greater income in exchange for more challenging work and time off. His
cognitive process is guided by his needs, which direct him to meet those needs by following a set of
actions. If he receives the desired reward as a result of this course of action, he will undoubtedly be driven
to perform in the same manner in the future. Farooq (Farooq, 2018)
The exploration of ways to meet the need is the second step in the motivation process. During this step,
different options for meeting the identified need are considered. This unmet demand motivates the
employee's decision-making process, causing him or her to take action. Farooq (Farooq, 2018) The third
step in the process is to choose goals, which are based on identifying needs and possible courses of
action. Farooq (Farooq, 2018) The employee's performance is the fourth phase. In this step, the
employee's performance is stimulated in a way that the employee considers appropriate, and a specific
course of action is taken to meet the unmet demand. Farooq (Farooq, 2018) Consequences of performance
is the fifth phase in the process, and it is the result of an employee's performance in their pursuit for
reward. If the required reward is not provided, the employee may be unwilling to repeat similar behavior
in the future. Farooq (Farooq, 2018) The employee is satisfied by the benefits of his path of action in the
final phase, review of efficiencies of necessity. The employee will next examine any remaining unmet
needs and restart the incentive process. Farooq (Farooq, 2018)
Is money a motivator for you? Why do you think that is?
Money is, without a doubt, the foundation of everyone's living. We live in a materialistic age where we
strive to obtain the most up-to-date smartphone or the most luxurious automobile. It makes no difference
whether social class you belong to; most things revolve around money, and it is how we support our
families.
How can today's managers assist employees who are stressed at work?
Make a list of objectives.
Meditate to promote mindfulness.
A work atmosphere that is adaptable.
Encourage employees to move their bodies by encouraging them to get up, move about, stretch,
or exercise.
Give credit where credit is due in the workplace.
